Hey guys, I'd appreciate any input on my current chances or things I could improve to apply next summer. I like to believe that I'm a well-rounded applicant but tell me if I'm wrong.

IL resident. ORM (Middle Eastern). 3.7 GPA, 3.6 sGPA, (1 bad semester and then almost always 4.0s the following semesters) 510 MCAT.

Research:
1 year (500+ hours) lung cancer research (Western blotting, data analysis, cell culturing) with 1 poster presentation at the school forum. No publications.

Shadowing
:
So far ~50 hrs in neurology, pathology, radiology, ID, with more upcoming

Scribing:
Lots of hours. Employed since July 2018, will continue throughout gap year, psychiatry and ED

Non-clinical Volunteering: (am I lacking in this area?)
~100 hrs by the time of application. Addiction recovery center, documenting and writing individuals stories on drug/alcohol addiction.

Clinical Volunteering:
~120 hrs. Information Desk/Ambulatory Surgery escort
~90 hrs. Hospice buddy

Employment/Teaching:
3.5 years as a math tutoring center. Started as a tutor and then promoted to lead tutor with admin stuff
1 semester I was an undergrad TA for anatomy & physiology with cadavers

Activities:
2+ years in a leadership position with a cultural organization. I've led many projects (humanitarian, social) with this org during and after graduation and plan to continue involvement throughout my career.
Involvement with church
1 semester in pre-med club but I didn't find it interesting

Schools I'd like to apply to:
MD:
ALL Illinois schools (including Pritzker and Feinberg, do I have ANY chance at all lol)
University of Wisconsin
Medical College of Wisconsin
University of Michigan
Michigan State
Oakland
Wayne State
Central Michigan
Indiana
Geffen
Albany Medical College
NY Medical College
University of Toledo
University of AZ/Phoenix
Arizona College of Medicine
University of Colorado
FIU Miami
Tufts

DO:
Midwestern in IL
Touro in Cali

Is this list too top heavy? I don't want to go DO really. I still have plenty of time to adjust the list and want to narrow it to 20 schools.

Thanks in advance!

St. Louis website says averages are 3.85 and 512, does that make it a reach for me?

Thanks! Not sure if you saw the part where I mentioned all Illinois schools I’ll be applying to. I noticed you added Rush and Loyola but I feel like I’m way under in community service for Rush especially. What about UIC? That’s where I did my undergrad and I did my research at the medical school

Worth having UIC

OP, I suggest the following:
Rochester (maybe)
U Toledo
Dartmouth
U VM
Miami
Tufts
George Washington
Georgetown
SLU
Albany
Rush
Rosy Franklin
NYMC
MCW
VCU
EVMS
Wayne State
Wake Forest
Netter
Jefferson
Temple
Drexel
Creighton
Tulane
Loyola
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)
Oakland-B
Seton Hall
Nova MD
U ILL
U ILL-Carle
SIU IF you're from southern ILL
Any DO program. I can't recommend Touro-NY, Nova, Wm Carey, LUCOM, for different reasons. MSUCOM? Read up on Larry Nasser and you decide. LMU has an accreditation warning, which concerns me.

Does SIU not like Chicago folk :(

Their mission is to train doctors for southern ILL. As such, my understanding is that they refuse to interview people from the northern part of the state.

Indeed. They have had that policy since their inception.
