Is anybody else planning on going to "Visit Emory" on March 24-25th? I'm in the process and getting my flight ticket arrangements together.
I'm going! I think I'm going down a couple of days early to look at apartments and such. Should be fun!

What a pain to wait. Thanks for the feedback, RAMPA!
I think I should avoid this forum for a while - it's making time go 10x slower @_@
You know I completely agree with you!!!!!! I realized this morning that ever since I started to really "delve into" this forum, I've become so much more paranoid about acceptances/rejections, and half the time I feel like I'm PMSing!!! Looking at the bright side, at least some of us have been accepted in places (and for those who are still waiting for the first acceptance: don't worry it will come!!). Maybe we should relish in our success for at least a little while before getting stressed out again, because for the love of God, I think we all deserve it 😀
Yes...that is the bright side. You need to worry about idiots like me who has yet to receive an acceptance. :-(
Hi everyone. Finally decided to join instead of just stalking anonymously...
There are a couple of things I've been wondering about:
1. Does anyone know when we should hear back from Harvard (I've applied to the SM program in Global Health)? I seem to recall hearing that it would be late Feb-early March, but I can't seem to find that info again (and I'm really hoping I don't have to wait until early March!!).
2. Until I hear back from Harvard, the options I am deciding between are Hopkins (MSPH in International Health, Health Systems) and Emory (MPH in Global Health). Does anyone have any feedback that could be helpful in my decision?
Thanks so much!!!
I spoke to the Harvard admissions office last week. She said they would be making decisions between the end of Feb and mid March and will contact applicants by email...fingers crossed!

Called Mailman today and was told that admissions will be released in 2-3 weeks. I think they notify via email, but I'm not sure.
Got into Columbia nursing today, so very anxiously awaiting word from public health....
K...seriously hasnt ANYONE applied to ut?it seems like everyones applied to either yale or emory or bu or drexel?? n i m runnin outta patience here ...hvnt heard nything from UT.....i submittd my app on 1st dec n accc to their website thy announce the decision within 6 weeks...but nuthin yet n i m gng craaazzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy....has nyone heard nythin??? n wat bout A&M?has nyone even applied there????
Hi rachelbds, I applied to UT-Houston for epi MPH. Unfortunately I was super late and only just e-submitted my app to them a couple of weeks ago, so naturally I haven't heard anything yet. So you haven't heard anything? Not even a confirmation email that they received your app? Their FAQ says something about sending a username and password to check the status on UTLINK but I guess that's just for certificate applicants? 😕
Hopefully we'll both hear something soon!
thanks for the update
anybody planning on visiting UCLA on April 4th for admitted students day?

Yes...that is the bright side. You need to worry about idiots like me who has yet to receive an acceptance. :-(
yep, yep I'll be there on the 4th, for Health Services. Will you attend?
okie, thank you, zjwah.Hi epiepi,
I found out recently that I got into UW and Emory and those two are my top choices, so I won't be considering UPitt. It's still a good school, I just feel UW or Emory would be a better fit for me.
Good luck!
admitted: JHSPH (MPH)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
waiting: HSPH, Columbia, UPitt, and Boston
Congrats! How were you notified?
I applied to population and family health, (general and global tracks). I turned in my application back in November! Good luck to everyone else as well.
hear this week??? oh wow...that is slightly terrifying. Columbia is one of my top choices.😱
Has anyone applied to UMass Amherst? I was recently informed that my application is incomplete because i need to complete a supplemental application. Their deadline is Feb 1st and they will be sending me directions on how to complete this application in the next couple of weeks? Has anyone else experienced this or know what the supplemental application requires??
Hey guys! I think I might be the first Emory rejection posted. Last night OPUS said I was rejected from my second choice program....oddly I never received anything about my app being forwarded to the second choice program, but oh well. I didn't have a third choice. I'm really holding out for good news from Columbia, but right now I'm not feeling too good about that.
GRE: 540 V, 680 Q, 4.5 AW
GPA: 3.34, recent undergrad
SOPHAS mailed: 12/8/10, but last LOR submitted 12/16/10
Programs: Epi, Global Epi, or Infectious Disease Epi where applicable
Acceptances: Tulane, GW
Rejections: Yale, Emory (Global Epi)
Still waiting: BU, Columbia, Emory (Epi)
Did you get an e-mail about having to pay a supplemental fee? I am pretty sure this was not on the SOPHAS site when I submitted my application. (Nor is it on the UMass site but I have had some trouble navigating that one so if it is there then I am a complete bonehead) Kind of upset they can through hidden fees this late in this process. Oy.
Congrats and/or good luck to everyone on here!
I got an acceptance email yesterday from Emory's BSHE program, which was exciting(!), though a bit unexpected with my last minute application (submitted Jan 10). However, my OPUS account still says "Your admission decision is not available at this time." Has anyone else had this experience?
Congrats on your acceptance!! 😀yep, yep I'll be there on the 4th, for Health Services. Will you attend?
Haha you think that's bad, HealthEdu, I submitted mine on Jan 13! 😱
Congrats! Sounds like you had a really quick turnaround time. Just out of curiosity, when did SOPHAS mail your app and when did you receive the email from Emory saying your app was complete?
Just got my acceptance email for UCLA!! SO excited!!!
