After getting an interview, does only interview performance matter or do grades too for acceptance?

Once you get offered an interview for pharmacy school, from that point on in the acceptance process is only your interview performance what matters, or do they still consider the rest of your application too, ie gpa and pcat scores? For me its SUNY Buffalo to be specific

They atleast still expects you to pass your classes with " C" before you start pharmacy school. That's general rule, you might want to contact your school for specifics.

Your gpa and pcat scores still get weighed, the interview offer just means your stats passed their minimum threshold. Basically 1/3 pcat, 1/3 gpa, 1/3 interview usually.

Schools usually invite more people to interviews than they have spots for, so the interview does play a role in acceptance along with your grades and PCAT. The interview is a great chance for them to see who you are, to learn more about, and see how you respond to questions. There's a lot you learn from interviewing someone!

Rule of thumb i was told: Once you are granted the interview, your all on the same level. If they bring up certain classes or grades then elaborate but all n' all they want to see your social skills and how you respond (the more comfortable YOU can make them, the better off you will be).

No. Many schools do a complete review of your application after the interview and then decide.

Meaning:
You can still get in with a bad interview

OR

You can still get rejected with a stellar interview.

It is all relative to the application pool.

Some schools have a closed-file interview, some have an open file.
In a closed-file interview you can really shine after your answers and impression are reduced to a numeric score added to your PCAT and multiplied GPA.
In an open-file interview the interviewer or panel of interviewers can grill you on any of your faults, plummeting your interview score and giving you nothing to boost a low GPA or PCAT. Quite a double whammy.

There is a site that catalogs which schools do open-file and which to closed-file. It's called SDN!

School Rankings > P-School > select school > interview feedback > view all questions > expand drop down of questions.
It's under Questions > "What type of interview was it" category.

Bummer, looks like UB is open file but at least it's one-on-one.
Check it out...
