Anesthesia Redux - A Basics WW Game Sign Ups & Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Thank you to @SARdoghandler and @BigCats for giving me the first PR of the game (even though I lynched you). I hope I did you proud.
Tbh the fact that you lynched me and the way you reacted to it really made me put you (albeit reluctantly hahaha) solidly into the villager pile. You were the absolute perfect ability ability seer!!

Also @Stroganoff please don't keep pushing for seers to out themselves. We will when we need to and not a moment before.
Agreed 100%. That's implied whenever I ask. At the time I asked, it was mylo1 and mylo2 so I wanted more information before potentially losing the game.
I kept thinking you were a wolf because of how hard you were pushing for reveals
Yep! I'm aware how wolfy it looked, but it's too obviously wolfy so not something I would personally do as a wolf.

How did the PR-granting mechanic work in this case? It only activated when SAR and BC were both dead? Because then we got super lucky!
Yes, dead chat opened at the start of d2 and they had to pick their first recipient by the end of d2, at which point recipient (in this case coop) received their new role so they could use it n2. Then each day the dead chose another ability from the list to give to another player.

That's super cool that the dead are still allowed to influence the game! I assume they didn't know anyone's affiliations either.

Nope! Had to make our best guesses. Think we did a pretty good job of it though- and I’m shocked that all three of our PRs stayed alive through endgame!!

Yeah it makes it very interesting. I really like this setup and it functions in a way that it can be run multiple times and have very different outcomes. In Trilt's previous iteration I believe the seer role went to a wolf? Or at least one of the roles did.

Yup it was WTF  she crushed it! I died very early because I was not good at wolfing yet

I just remember only be able to mumble feels but ultimately following the larger group to avoid getting lynched.

There were only 7?
I'm so confused how you are getting 7 total players on Day 4. I posted the details here.

She expanded:

D4 (Actual) Final Tally:

genny (6) - AM, Coop, Miz, cubs, Wondering, Stroganoff
Coop (2) - dolphin, genny

Coopah's Hypothetical Example if dolphin were villager:

genny (4)
Coop (4) - dolphin, Wolf1, Wolf2, Wolf3

Wait, that would make it a 4-way tie between genny and Coopah. Would this overcome lylo though @Coopah? Because if WildZoo kills both genny and Coopah because of the tie, that would leave 3 villagers and 2 wolves = 6 total people still.

Edit: But then after the night kill it would be 2 villagers and 3 wolves to start Day 5. If village is lucky, it'd be 2 villagers and 2 wolves at the end of Day 5. Then 1 villager and 2 wolves at start of Day 6. 1 villager and 1 wolf at end of Day 6. Wolf night kills the remaining person and wins the game.

So yeah, Coopah is correct. It makes more sense that dolphin is wolf. Because BEST case and there's a genny-Coopah tie, wolves still win if the tie-breaker takes both people out. Worst case and they take out only Coopah, wolves instantly win.

Hold on, rethinking this....

Edit: I re-did the math. If the tie between Coopah (4 votes) and Genny (4 votes) resulted in a tie and both of them died, it'd go from 5 villagers + 3 wolves (8 total) to 4 villagers + 2 wolves (6 total). Then after night kill it's 3 villagers + 2 wolves to start Day 5.

So @Coopah could actually be wrong about this wolf-hunting scenario.
To take it out of that quote block:

D4 (Actual) Final Tally:

genny (6) - AM, Coop, Miz, cubs, Wondering, Stroganoff
Coop (2) - dolphin, genny

Coopah's Hypothetical Example if dolphin were villager:

genny (4)
Coop (4) - dolphin, Wolf1, Wolf2, Wolf3

In case it's not clear -- and to pre-empt anyone who might misunderstand my posting after the game is over -- I'm so happy you were right about dolphin! I'm just trying to wrap my head around this wolfhunting exercise so I can actually learn something from playing this game for next time, because you sniffed dolphin out using this method, and she was still on my village/neutral reads at that time.

The actual D4 tally was 6 votes on genny and 2 on you = 8 total people, 8 total votes. You were saying that dolphin has to be a wolf because if she were village, the 3 wolves + 1 villager (dolphin) would give you 4 votes. But then there's still 4 players left, so those votes could still be on genny, resulting in a tie.

If the votes between Coopah (4 votes) and Genny (4 votes) resulted in a tie and both of them died, it'd go from 5 villagers + 3 wolves (8 total) to 4 villagers + 2 wolves (6 total). Then after night kill it's 3 villagers + 2 wolves to start Day 5 in a lylo state. The bottom line is that even if dolphin were a villager and even if all 3 wolves rushed the vote onto Coopah (4) to tie with genny (4), it's not a guaranteed win for the wolves as Day 5 would start with 3 villagers + 2 wolves (lylo).

So in case that's not clear, there's still the possibility that dolphin was villager in that scenario.

Huh I miscounted! it still works though, they would've made that tie. Probably...

When I first read your post and wolf-hunting lecture (sans mimosa), I didn't get it and felt dumb. Then I re-read it and went "Ah, this girl...she's going places" and then believed you and you were more solidly villager to me, and I was all set to lynch dolphin.

Then I slept, then the next day (today I guess?) I re-did the math and saw that there was a slim chance that your theory could be wrong and dolphin could still be a villager, which would make you a freaking BRILLIANT wolf for that 99% plausible post. Just freaking brilliant. You paint dolphin as the bad guy, you throw genny under the bus to gain credibility, and you slide in and win the game for the wolves. [Edit: Wait, no, it wouldn't have been tied if you and genny were both wolves. My head hurts. WW math is hard.]

In the end, I'm just happy we were on the same team.

That post ends up more like 20% plausible if you factor in all her posts as well. For me, the reads progression seemed mad wolfy but then this particular vote setup was the icing on the cake.

Yeah true. I'm gonna go back and re-read the game because dolphin was the only woof I didn't really suspect at all. At all.

Hey @genny did you like your gifs? 😛
You should be glad I wasn't playing this one 😉

I did not
