I just saw a post on r/premed about Carle Illinois COM.

Any idea what this is all about?

They don't offer too much information on their website,
so maybe someone heard some rumors as to when they'll
start taking applicants, or if they'll have specific course
requirements since it's supposed to be "engineering-based"?

I think it looks interesting for those looking to get into
biotech and medical devices (as a physician, of course).

For anyone interested, I just found a downloadable document from their website under the "News" tab (11th article down the page) that states they are being visited by the LCME in June, during which they'll be evaluated for the potential of becoming a "candidate school" and, if all goes well, will be admitting their first class for Fall 2018. I'll make sure to come back with updates for anyone interested in this new school (more for myself honestly).

From what I've heard, they are supposed to be admitting a very small class in the Fall of 2018. I imagine things like course requirements will become known when it's time for their first application year.
