Really? Cause to me it seems like there are more GEM applicants then 6/5 year applicants.
Whatever the case may be it seems to me like I haven't heard back from RCSI and applied in November. I am the sad. Whats a guy got to do to be a pediatric trauma surgeon around here?

Peds trauma huh? You have a lot more courage than me. I love trauma and surgery, I just don’t think I could ever do peds

Catching up on posts since interview offer....
-interview was on Feb 25 for 5/6 year program in TO (they held interviews on Feb 26 & 27 in TO as well)
-GEMS had 2 interviewers and 5/6 apps had only 1 interviewer
-they said to review your app and CV, dress professionally and that for 5/6 apps it would be conversational and no academic questions to be posed
......SO
-it was as they had outlined in their email - very comfortable - my interviewer queried why I wanted to be a doctor and type of physician - to be honest it felt like a coffee-house conversation - it was about 40 minutes long and because it was so comfortable it felt like 10 minutes....time really flew by
-I received a book about RCSI - and one of the interesting pieces of info was, if they fill all the spots with round 1 students then round 2 will not occur; a little nerve wracking in regards to hearing whether they will send an offer of admission or not
-after the interview they were having an info session (the session was @1/2 hour) and ran continuously throughout the day
-my session had about 7 potential students who had just finished their interviews
-they were pretty tight-lipped about when any offer would occur

What so are people from the United States flying to Toronto for interviews or is that just for Canadiens?

I did the interview on Sunday in Vancouver and apparently we could be hearing in the next week or so.

I believe its people from the States as well, because in Vancouver there were many people from there.

It just depends where you live. I’m in California so it’s closer to fly to Toronto than New York and also cheaper.

Hmmmm I hope I get to see where I’ll fly to cause I still haven’t received anything from anyone on potential interviews

Are the interview invitations going out now? Do you think it is too early for february applicants to get an interview fairly soon?

i had read somewhere that ucd for instance reviews apps as they come in but not aure how accurate that is

Hey Emily,
My application was complete January 20th, and I received an interview invite to UCD exactly a month after.
It's honestly a waiting game, I'm sure you'll get them soon!

Wait did you apply for the GEM program? Cause I applied in November and still haven’t heard from anyone

I’m from CA and they invited me to NY for the interview
Did you interview for RCSI? If so I have no idea why they pick one over the other but in my case it was easier and cheaper to fly to Toronto. I also don't know if they held the New York Interviews the same week as the Toronto ones...

I interviewed for RCSI.

Its not really over until April. This is the big month for most.

Is anyone else really anxious to hear back? I’m religiously checking my email and I can’t even sleep I’m so scared LOL

Nah not really; an email will come eventually.

For those that got a UCD acceptance today, did it take exactly 10 days after your interview to receive an offer like your interviewer said it would? Sooner/Later?

I may not be the best one to answer this as I had the first interview day. But it took a little over 2 weeks.
My interviewer did say that I was shortlisted during my interview, and that acceptances went out in batches.

Congratulations on acceptances!! Does anyone know when TCD and NUIG offers come out for the 5 year programs?

Congratulations to everyone who received acceptances today, and to everyone else, trust the process! I received an offer to attend UCD today, as well. Looking for some insight from current/former UCD students on opportunities for financial aid, the cost of living and recommendations for where to stay. Residence or off-campus, what do you recommend? How does one find places to live off-campus?

I had my interview on the 19th, and was accepted today. My interviewer simply told me I'd be contacted in a week or two after the interview day.

Definitely! Just gotta hash it out with my folks first 😳
Thats so funny. I'm in the same boat. I think im one of the few people whose parents don't want them to become a doctor (My parents are both psychologist and feel that the medical field just has a totally different perspective on patient care. They're also concerned about the cost, my mom is sick at the moment, four years a really long time to be away from friends and family...)

I'm curious, if you don't mind sharing, what hashing it out with your folks means to you.

hey! Congrats on everyone who got accepted 🙂

For those who did, how did the acceptance go out? and where did you interview?

Hey everyone! I got my conditional offer from UCD yesterday. Just waiting to hear back from Cork and RCSI. Does anyone know when I can expect to hear back from those two schools?

I interviewed for RCSI on Feb 25th, and got an acceptance for Cork 20 minutes ago. I’m happy but confused.

Atlantic Bridge said that most RCSI acceptances have been released today but they are expected to release additional offers throughout the week.
