Yeah, what FB said. And I don't want to be called wolfy for making excuses but I'm on vacation for 2 weeks, so probably most of the game if I live through the whole thing. So I'm just not comfortable with this whole post #s equate wolfy theory. And I'm sure other people have similar excuses/reasons and aren't wolves.

I don't know that I necessarily want to equate post numbers with wolfiness, but I think you can look at the content of the posts for "quieter" content. Stuff that meets criteria for a post, offers some suggestions, but just doesn't draw a lot of attention and isn't a big wild theory. Just enough to not be obvious and just enough to not be too quiet.

Has someone claimed to have a role? I haven't seen that.

I was thinking of voting for someone who is concerned about the 10 posts/day thing. The reason being as LIS stated earlier that wolves ate going to have a much more difficult time with that because it forces them to converse. However, I also understand, especially early on, how the 10 posts/day is frustrating. So I'm torn on this part. Any other thoughts on this?
I disagree that complaining about the posting restriction is wolfy - I think some of the complaints are newer players getting intimidated by having to speak so much. It's definitely something I need to get used to, as my usual strategy (and advice to new players) is to hang back and avoid drawing attention, no matter what your role. Less likely to get wolf-killed or forced to reveal if you're a villager, less likely to get lynched if you're a wolf.

I will have more time to do this after tomorrow, but if someone can keep track of who is staying more low key on posts and appears to be posting as little as possible/is not meeting the 10 post requirement, that will be helpful
This appears to me you are trying to really frame how you want people to look for wolves, and it conveniently points away from you. I always have a vendetta against you, I'll admit it. But I get feels about you.

The good players have the same strategy as a wolf and villager. Gotta work on them poker skills. Bluff your way out of anything.

One thing I saw while I was catching up - I think it was @FillyBay who gave the definition of chaos roles.

I've always made a distinction between "neutral" and "chaos". Neutral is just trying to stay alive until endgame and truly wins with either side, while chaos is on their own and doesn't like to share wins. Thus, neutral can be OK to leave alive while chaos gets taken out as fast as possible by villagers and wolves alike. What are other people's thoughts on this?

I definitely agree with you. Neutral doesn't add to villagers or wolves. Chaos is out for themselves and to mess stuff up.

Well, I might have a problem with 10 posts/day depending upon how busy my rotation gets. So I could see others having a problem if real life gets in the way of WW. It's hard to catch up and then post something relevant because the discussion moves pretty fast with this many people trying to get posts in. I do think it will get better the longer the game runs though.

I agree. 10 posts will be easier/better as the game goes on. I also just don't have a lot to say, so 10 posts is difficult. I'm just catching up now.

This is almost always my play now. I have learned if I get over a certain number of posts, I always get killed in the first 2 days of the game. If I mostly keep my mouth shut, I get to survive. It makes the game less fun to not get to talk, but it's what I've learned I need to do.

Which was my point exactly. I could be playing this quietly, answering BS noob questions only, and fading into the background. I am trying to actually play this how I would like to play the game. How the mod would want us to. But as usual, the more words you say, the more you try and strategize, the more people can find things they disagree with or word usage that is not always perfect.

If I was wolf, I would stay quiet until the ends of votes, not bring myself to the forefront and be front and center throughout the days discussions. I am saying a lot bc I don't have anything to hide.

Or, in exact princess bride analogy, you think we are thinking you would act that way, and so act this way instead. But a wolf could think we'd think they'd be quiet, so wolves go overboard like you are, and thus will actually be quiet as a wolf (the double bluff...)

Or, you can realize that, it's less how much you so or don't post, but how you post, and how you post when pressed or stressed or accused or when questioning others.

So I'm still sticking with my vote, and while you 100% could be a villager protesting this much, you are trying too much imo.

I am not as much protesting me getting voted in this game as I am protesting the culture that encourages everyone to shut up and just hope people don't notice you, which is how a lot of people try and get by in these games. Quite honestly, I was debating asking SOV to sub into me so I could just focus on the immuno game, bc now I am reinvigorated over that. But I just dislike how the games have become, and how strategy has allowed wolves to skate by that don't post and noobs are scared to post in fear that they get bandwagoned as a villager

Oh also, especially after this whole conversation (!!) I would think wolves will be very careful to post enough content to not be suspicious, which is another reason why I think the strategy is not going to work.

Ah but what if that was the whole point of this convo, to ensure that they post enough where they mess up? 😉

Definitely a noob worried about posting too much here. I mean, that's part of playing the game when you're starting out I suppose, but wording things specifically and coming up with ideas is scary at first!

To ease that worry, noob me has posted whatever the heck I feel like posting at any point in any game and it only got me lynched once (and that time I was indeed acting sketchy). I think content of your posts is more important than how often you post. I have also found the vets pretty tolerant of noobness

I would definitely count this as contributing post. 100% serious.

Now unlynch me, don't be bitter/whatever bland reason you have you are lynching me
You're number 3. I really just want to Lynch kam goddamnit...... Unlynch rojo, Lynch guis

I'm not on board with the lynching of STL. But I do understand rojos thouht process in voting for him. If his posting has us villagers thinking that he's a wolf or roled the wolves (who would know if he's not a wolf) may suspect him of having a role as well. If it goes beyond a few days of him living I'd start to get more suspicious of him. That being said there's also the possibility of the wolves simply letting him live because he's suspicious, and as long as we're all focused on STL, the wolves get away Scott free.

Guys there may be a delay on day 1 end. Admitted to the hospital.
Take care of yourself! I hope all goes well and they get you feeling better than you have in quite a while. <3 <3 <3

Being the target of a lot of bandwagon early lynches, it kind of encourages folks to not get noticed and let the old timers banter back and forth. Given the preference to hand out wolf roles to the veterans, they end up with another advantage on top of quiet villagers.

Agreed. Out of the few games I've played, I lived longest in the one where I shut up in the beginning and tried to avoid being noticed as a villager.

I now know from co modding last game just how much wolves pay attention to...how much attention they're each getting 😛
they'll likely figure out a way to best stay low key without being TOO suspiciously low key--or in the case of this game, how to meet post requirements without letting any mannerisms/inconsistencies etc. slip for us to notice.

Something this made me think about is that the wolves can't strategize as a group yet - it's still day one and they can only chat at night. Currently it's probably extremely difficult for experienced wolves to guide any nooby wolflings on how to act in thread.

That is definitely something to think about. The first time I was a wolf I wouldn't post ANYTHING without the others telling me what to say. I was probably a bit paranoid, but it's still a good point that VMH made.

I would hope it was RNG no matter what. Doesn't seem fair in either direction to me.

It's usually RNG with few exceptions (ie. you may not want to give a brand new noob the sole wolf role in a recruitment based game). But otherwise, yeah, RNG is how it goes.

Doesn't that depend on the mod? I would expect RNG from Dy, so my thought is that there should be a random, even balance of noob and veteran wolves.

RNG of roles is extremely important in balance. Giving out roles only to veterans or people you like borders on unfair gameplay IMO.

Well, then whom are you suspicious of? If you want me to switch my vote, then point a finger at someone else.

I'm speculating that there's only 1 wolfpack since I don't think Dy would include that in this basics game. So all our wolves know who the others are, even if they can't talk to each other yet. It wouldn't be too difficult for a noober wolf to see what/how another wolf is posting and just follow suit.

I was thinking of Kaydubs's last game where she gave roles to everyone, no vanillagers.
I've played a lot of games as a vanillager. Not sure if that's because I'm a noob or not, but I usually prefer it in games. However!! I understand it as a basics game though. Making lots of roles with lots of abilities goes beyond basics. So that's why I agree that my guess is we have minimal roles
