Abs don't take me too seriously, it was directed at everyone who had said "This is dumb let's talk about something else" but not actually proposed anything else to talk about :laugh: I should have put an emoji at the end of that post

Okay so mason, protector, Seers on both sides, a villager assassin (vigilante was villager alligned, yeah?), and a strongman. She probably would not do identical formatting to this, but I would guess that she would keep Seers on both sides, and the Mason's. A villager assassin doesn't seem super traditional Mafia for me, but she also has her roots in werewolf, so it could go either way.

In a 28 person game she had 5 wolves. So she is either going 4 wolves and a convert (if she is going less traditional) or a straight up 5 wolves, given that this is a 27 person game.
 
General feels from quick glancing - abney is posting a LOT compared to how much she normally does. Could be more free time as we approach graduation, but I'm not a fan. But I am not going to lynch her on day one when it is her first game back in forever on something that is flimsy. Doing a more in depth read through now that the brain frying IRB training is done.

When I went into class this was all that was posted. For me, that wasn't enough to start conversation, especially when I thought I wouldn't have to go into the lab and I could start chatting at 2:30. **** happens, and I was in the lab until 7.

And tracker. But tracker is not a traditional Mafia role either. So I feel that could go either way.

The whole Cdo/Ski thing is funny because I almost voted to lynch SAR yesterday because I knew she had gotten home but hadn't checked into SDN yet 🤣 But mine would have been out of jest! Not as super serious as Ski made hers out to be... I elected to just hassle SAR over Facebook rather than call her out publicly hahaha

The roles in the last basics game were brought up on page 3, right after the game started (first 2.5 pages are just sign-ups and random chatter). You did add a few more thoughts, but still, this makes me go :eyebrow:

honestly, I completely forgot that Dy said plurality went into effect on D2. I just saw this and didn't want to change my vote first thing this morning and be the reason the day ended early if plurality was reached.

Sorry I'm being wishy-washy, but I'm not sure who would be good to lynch at this point? I didn't think anyone was sure of anything right now being D1 and having basically no information? still not sure that CDO is a good lynch..

You don't want to lynch them, yet you are? Do you not want to lynch them because you think they're not a wolf or because you feel bad about them dying? Is the idea here to get info on how she flips and use that to determine who looks wolfy? These questions I realize make me sound somewhat noobish but honestly I did a double take reading this since it doesn't seem logical from where I'm sitting. Not that you always are, but yeah.

Okay let's use my example from last game, day 3 I had named every single wolf from there because I saw how people voted on the BBC lynch. People that are caught in the middle of voting en masse, and where they voted en masse is a very good indicator at catching wolves. I am not inclined to think that cdo is a wolf while I am inclined to think that Jilary is one. But even if cdo flips villager, it provides me with solid info.

Jilary, I am not going to answer what your tell is when it works the majority (not every time granted) of the time. I feel like I let it slip in the wolf chat from Pokemon, but you apparently didn't learn.

And Lyra - I hadn't read when I first responded. I had said originally I was going to list roles from my mafbot, found it wasn't in the IRC chat that it was supposed to be, and wanted info from last game. Dubz responded and I posted a quick analysis, while I started reading. When I saw tracker mentioned by trilt, went back and posted the update there (would normally just have edited).

I fill out my spreadsheet when I actually go through, on games like this. That takes time. I don't post every single thing I find on the thread (this would be dumb and make my play obsolete, as people would avoid doing the stupid stuff they do). That's how I get into scenarios where people call idiot savant, where I come up with this random people as wolves out of the blue.

The issue with what you just said:
A) you have firmly just affixed a target onto your back
B) There is no point in keeping your role a secret after you pretty much say "I have a role" in a game of like 4 non-wolf roles.
C) never imply you have a role in a game like this until you absolutely need to. You did not absolutely need to yet.
D) you will most likely get protection for awhile. If wolves try and kill you, they are taking a risk. If wolves try and convert you, they are wasting a convert as you will not make it to final few being outed so early.

Interesting turn of events.. I don't know what role in a basic game you would have and be so willing to give away. I haven't checked the tally, but if you are in the lead it'd probably be best to wait a bit or not reveal and just leave us with the knowledge you have a role and people might switch. I would guess that wolves would rather claim vanilla roles in basic games so they don't get overlapping roles.

Not necessarily. I have a history of doing this. I will explain to you the logic of why after the game, to not provide an explanation of it to the wolves.

For others to weigh in on: Cdo has already pretty much said that she has 1 of the few villager roles. IMO, you say what it is at this point. Doctor can self protect traditionally in Dyachei games, and traditionally in mafia. This way she can't hide behind the "I have a role" claim if she doesn't, and slide by for a few extra days. I don't see a downside to her just coming out and saying what it is now that she has identified herself as a rolled villager. Its a dumb convert choice as a wolf, if there even exists in the game. And it's too risky to try and kill her as she will almost assuredly be protected.

Okay I get this, I wasn't sure if it was normal for a doctor role to be able to protect herself (I guess now that I'm thinking about it she probably wouldn't out herself as the doc but who knows) In that case it does make sense for her to reveal since now we know she has a role.

I would be interested in how a wolf could claim a role in basic without coming up suspicious but I agree that is good for after the game so as not to give noon wolves ideas (if any noobs are wolves)

I realize we have a good amount of time left before lynch close, but currently there are three people (I think) below the required post count. I would really rather not lose that many people the first day of the game. I'll give them a little longer before I tag them. I don't want to be obnoxious buuuuut...
 
Also, I guess I don't really see how cdo revealing her role benefits the village. I will trust the judgement of those that have played way more than me, but I would lean toward being more cautious honestly

Fair enough, mainly I thought it was weird that you said "I just got to page 5, I see it now" when it was brought up earlier than that.
 
This early in the game, I feel like anyone saying they have a role should be enough...doesn't mean we can't/won't come back to said individual later...
