It’d be naive to have that expectation on anyone’s part.

Really, truly, listen to some more educated voices out there. Listen to some Piers Morgan. Listen to some Mehdi Hasan. Piers said for well over a year ‘Israel has a right to defend itself’. They do! They however do not have a right to genocide a people.

You can think otherwise. Plenty of Israel supporters think it’s fine to genocide Gazans and take their land, just like plenty think it’s fine to invade southern Lebanon and take their land, just like plenty believe it’s fine to build illegal settlements in the West Bank.
I will take some time today to listen to these other perspectives.

38 children were killed on October 7th by Hamas. Israel has killed over 20,000 children since then. At what point is enough enough or is there truly no limit to the amount of children they should be allowed to kill in this war?
When will Ukraine let it go that Russia invaded their country? How many more Russians should be allowed to be killed by Ukraine? (To be clear, I support both Israel and Ukraine.)

You can get a little bit more of a clear picture of the radical Islamism in Gaza and the West Bank by looking at pre and post 10/7 polling data.

A bit of cherry picking data from 2010-2014 demonstrates the following tends:

62% of Palestinian muslims supported execution for apostates. (BTW, that number approached 90% in Egypt).

62% of Gazans think bombing/violence against CIVILIANS sometimes or often justified to defend Islam from its enemies. 70% when the word civilians is removed.

57% of Gazans had a favorable view of Hamas, and Hamas was the most politically preferred political party.

What I think is alarming is post 10/7 data from 2026 suggests even now, 1/3 of Gazans support or identify with Hamas, 44% still think launching the attack on 10/7 was the correct decision (the vast majority in the West Bank currently support the decision). 1/3 would still likely vote for Hamas, the vast majority oppose Hamas disarming.

That’s from Barometer, PCPSR, and PEW.

There is no room for Islamic extremism in modern societies. None of which justifies intentionally murdering women and children, or various other war crimes, but it certainly paints the picture why Israel would respond harshly in kind to the 10/7 attack.

These people hate each other. They barely see each other as human as implicated in near single digit scores in humanitarian index polling. A long term 2 state solution is a pipe dream. But only one ideology is remotely compatible with western values and an American way of life. I’ll put all my eggs in that basket, yer I can still oppose human rights violations and war crimes without endorsing conspiracy theory rabbit holes like the whole thing was somehow planned by the Israeli government.

Here’s a more appropriate parallel. Trump is warring Iran. I mean, who really knows what he’s doing there bc he’s an idiot. But suppose rather than kill the IRGC like we said we’d do, since we’re at war w their country, we drone bombed every piece of necessary civilian structure. Power plants, water sanitation, bridges, etc.

Also we bomb every building we decide an IRGC soldier may have been in recently. We bomb 92% of their residential buildings. 92% of their residential structures! - gone!

Famine, starvation, and disease spread through Iran. We tell every neighboring country they will not take in Iranians or we’ll war them too. Iranians are trapped.

Next, we bomb their hospitals bc some IRGC may be in them. We bomb emergency vehicles going out to help. Not all, just some.

We kill more than 250 journalists, then declare it unsafe for journalists. Nothing is documented. We do not let in humanitarian aid - food and water, for periods of time. Too risky we say.

By the way, in the parallel Iranians haven’t had free and fair elections for two decades, but it’s the IRGC in power and who we say we are at war with. We tell them - just give up and we’ll stop.

We kill over 100,000 Iranian civilians and over 20,000 Iranian kids. Every genocidal authority says we’re committing a genocide. The media at large (who aren’t allowed in to document the atrocities) say the same.

Oh, by the way, Trump repeatedly glamorizes Iranians geography alluding to how beautiful it’d be to develop into golf clubs and hotels. He uses AI to help glamorize this during the genocide.

This is a more apt parallel.

1. We do not share a border with Iran
2. Iran did not attack us first

Your description is great, but as a parallel, it sucks.

$6 a gallon for diesel is a blessing for democrats. It feels strange to say it, but Dems are now favored to take the senate IMO. I consider Texas, Ohio and Alaska as very much lean D at this point. North Carolina was already a foregone conclusion as soon as Copper entered the race. Maine is a genuine coin flip. Some polls are saying that even Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas are in play, although I am personally skeptical.

But, polls are looking better and better for the Dems. This will be even bigger blue wave than 2018 IMO.

Diesel may be close to $9 and gasoline will be around $5.50 by the time we are close to the election. Blame the Hoothis.

The VOTEREDs are brainwashed. They could watch their own family get deported and and would still vote for this. Your faith in the electorate is misplaced--social media and money wins elections and they are controlled by tech fascists who have aligned completely with the Republicans.

I normally agree, but farmers and truckers (significantly loyal Trump base) have finally realized that this isn’t what they voted for. There have been literally hundreds of videos that have popped up recently since diesel crossed $6, complaining about Iran war. And this correlates pretty well with recent polls and president’s approval ratings.

We might be on the verge of new political realignment. If Dems are smart, they have a real opportunity to pick back blue-collar and working-class voters that they previously lost. These people won’t become democrats overnight, but their dissatisfaction with the current economy is real. If Dems moderate on immigration, transgender issue, and guns, they can start slowly peeling off these voters from MAGA base.

That’s why 2028 will be a complete bloodbath. Republicans aren’t going to magically improve the economy in two years. It only gets worse from here.

Dems will win even if they run a statue. And if it’s a charismatic candidate like Ossoff or Talarico, we might see 2008 style electoral numbers.

Ossoff is somewhat charismatic but Talarico is not, but he is not Ken Paxton whom has the charisma of a potato.

October 7th was horrific no doubt but I don’t think it gives the Israeli government the right to do whatever it wants international law or basic morals be damned.

Yeah growing up, my father has always been very pro-Israel; hence I grew up with the same ideology. A thriving democracy being surrounded by hostile enemies; I believed in their inherent right to defend themselves. I fiercely supported Israel’s response to Oct 7th. It should be tit for tat, right? That’s how our society works. I initially thought of those school protestors as losers with nothing better to do with their lives. But then something changed.

Hamas had killed about 1200 people on Oct 7th. In return, Israel’s killings of Palestinians just kept climbing up. Initially, it was 10,000.. Then it became 20,000, and it still kept going up with no end in sight. I started questioning: Israel has more than achieved their objective by now, then why the **** is this war not ending? Then at one point, we started getting the news of schools and hospitals in Palestine getting bombed. Finally, I saw those horrific images of starving civilians (they gave me what I thought was the only panic attack that I have ever experienced in my life).

That was a moment of clarity for me. I finally understood Bibi’s role in engaging into forever war to save himself from the corruption trial. I understood Israeli illegal settlements in the West Bank terrorizing the civilians that pre-dated October 7th. I understood the role of entities like APAIC literally buying our politicians. I came to the conclusion that Israel is a genocidal apartheid state. And I as an American tax payer, want no part in funding their immoral actions.

This was all predictable. Trump is incompetent and corrupt, and these are the consequences. People needed to vote smarter in '24 and they failed. The amazing thing is he was actually quite transparent this second time around about what he was going to do. And people still failed. Emotions kill logic.

Some certainly are. But trumps approval ratings are horrific.

But at least there is hope that the house/senate will change and mitigate some of the strategic blunders of this administration

I can appreciate your sentiment, but “tit for tat” is just not how military doctrine works. And to be clear what objectives have been achieved? Hostages, yes. Disarming Hamas and demilitarizing Gaza, hard no. Political security and postwar government, also no.

Without debating the obvious intentional murder of civilians, starvation and other various war crimes, I’m curious what an appropriate response would has been in your mind, and what should the military objectives vs how/why do you disagree with Israel’s defined objectives?

Well “terrorizing” stretches waaaay back before oct 7th, we are currently looking at the result of an unresolved fight between 2 different ideologies over a stretch of land that stretches back thousands of years, both share plenty of blame. But make no mistake, the clearest act of modern defined terrorism was 10/7.

Proportionally, there are about as many Muslims in Israel as there are Hispanic/latinos in the US. While they undoubtedly face their own challenges, they share the same basic individual civil and political rights as every other citizen and seem to be more critical of Hamas than you are.

Israel is committing a genocide. It doesn’t appear at all like they actually care what perception is. Their focus is taking land in Southern Lebanon, more illegal settlements in the West Bank, and genocide in Gaza.

They’ve lost all support outside of Zionists and/or wealthy AIPAC friendly Americans. They did it to themselves. Perhaps they still stand a chance as it does appear the technocracy favors them. Money will certainly be thrown at it like wildfire to gain sentiment.

To your last point on Muslims sharing the same rights in Israeli controlled land, literally everything I see online not produced by Israel says otherwise. And just about anytime an average Israeli is interviewed whatever they say sounds so racist, bigoted, and skewed it’s hard to believe something like you saying ‘they have equal rights’.

A bigger problem for you seems to be Tucker. He seems to be waging all out social media war on AIPAC and Israel. He’s going to take a lot of MAGA, maybe all, with him, especially once Trump is gone. He just posted a video on Israelis in the West Bank attacking journalists and Muslims for no apparent reason other than hate, and the IDF doing nothing.

Let’s not forget that it was Netanyahu himself who allowed millions of Qatari dollars to flow in and prop up the Hamas, because he didn’t want the actual formation of the Palestinian state with stable government. He wanted to divide and conquer, and let the two groups fight each other. So, in a way he enabled Hamas.

More than 70,000 Palestinians have been killed. All living hostages have been exchanged; Hamas has largely been dismantled. So, at some point people need to ask themselves: okay, why is this war still going? What is the objective here? It’s similar to our Afghanistan invasion. I bet there are still talibans and 911 sympathizers left over there. But it’s impossible to eradicate all of them. We went there, weakened them to a point where they won’t recover easily, then pulled our military back. It was the correct decision. There was nothing to be gained from causing further civilian casualties.

Israel likes to justify their military occupation by claiming that Palestinians want to destroy them. But look at what 700,000 settlers have done in the West Bank? There has been a pretty well-documented history of murders, rape, life-long bodily injuries and theft/ vandalism by the settlers. Israeli military turns a complete blind eye to this civilian oppression. So, this desire to destroy is very much a two way street. There is a reason why Israel severely restricts, and in most cases doesn’t allow the entry of international journalists in the West Bank. They very much want to control the flow of information.

So, Israel can’t claim that it’s the other side who doesn’t want peace, while simultaneously terrorizing the citizens on a daily basis. How about they start cracking down on some of these illegal settlers?

This is wild. Kudos to the collective media for standing up to Trump.

Networks Suspend Pool Coverage of Trump After White House Bans CNN

The move was an escalation of President Trump’s showdown with the White House press corps after he moved to bar journalists from CNN, MS NOW and Politico.

On Friday, President Trump caught some of his own aides off-guard when he abruptly announced a ban on the three news outlets, saying he was fed up with what he described as “purposely negative stories.” Journalists from the three organizations had their badges confiscated when they arrived at the White House complex on Saturday.

CNN, MS NOW and Politico said on Monday that they would sue the Trump administration for barring them from the White House, saying it was a violation of their First Amendment rights to cover the president. Experts say the ban is unlikely to withstand legal scrutiny. They have also asked a judge to temporarily lift the ban until the courts decide.

Mr. Trump defended his decision in a social media post on Monday. “The White House is not instituting an assault on the Free Press, something which I cherish,” he said. “It is instituting an assault on the FAKE NEWS, something that has grown like Cancer in our beloved United States of America.”

In 2009, the major networks balked when the Obama administration tried to bar Fox News from participating in a Treasury Department event; the administration backed down.

Straight out of the Adolf Hitler playbook.

But damn how about the markets?

Yup. The only thing holding our country together is the courts. That's where the battle for our democracy is taking place. Every generation has a major struggle. This generation will be defined by the struggle to preserve democracy.

I recommend checking out Democracy Docket founded by Marc Elias. As a litigator, Marc has handled hundreds of cases involving politics, voting rights, and redistricting. He has successfully argued and won four cases in the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as dozens of cases in state supreme courts and U.S. courts of appeal.

When Trump contested the outcome of the 2020 election, Marc met every futile challenge at the courthouse, notching over 60 legal victories against the former president and his allies during the post-election period, alone. He has also successfully represented several House and Senate candidates in post-election litigation, recounts and challenges. In 2024, Marc was named to Forbes’ inaugural list of America’s top 200 lawyers.

His firm was involved in the recent successful challenge to stop the USPS from interfering with mail-in ballots. I was skeptical about him at first, but everything he's said and predicted about what Trump will do with election interference has been spot on. His finger is on the pulse of the current current efforts to steal the next election.

I was right. The war would accelerate Iran's nuclear weapon development. Ironically the war caused the very thing Israel sought to prevent.

BREAKING: Iran's triple-urgency bill to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) has now been sent to the parliament's presiding board, coming as lawmakers are calling for nuclear weapons tests "as soon as possible" because Iran needs nuclear deterrence, per Iranian MP Haji-Deligani.

He adds "remaining in the NPT brings us nothing but losses," and "we should conduct the necessary tests for a nuclear weapon as soon as possible."

This is wild. Kudos to the collective media for standing up to Trump.

The media outlets stood up to trump but, for the most part, I have found them to be shameful and a huge reason we are where we are. They've enabled trump and his chaos for the past decade and badly wanted him back in office for the profits that come from the access, views, and clicks. So they stand there and sane wash all his BS and launder his lies, while ignoring the corruption, illegality, health issues, cognitive decline, inability to stay awake, and just the entire ****show that seems to be happening at all times.

This is nothing like how Biden was covered, it's night and day. Now trump takes away some press credentials and these media outlets are screaming "threat to democracy!" as if he hasn't been doing this the whole time. Shameless stuff imo.

I think you're just not very smart if you believe that "tech fascists", whatever that means, are propagandizing our electorate into disproportionate Republican support. The evidence against you on that is absolutely overwhelming in polling right now.

I'm not confident in the electorate's intelligence level either, but you're just making **** up.

It's already happening. Many people prefer Democrats if they do sensible immigration policy at least.

I think the Democrats have moderated on all those things except guns, and voters are responding in polling pretty clearly. Some of the problem is economic, but that's been the case for awhile now. No one feels the economy actually works for the average person anymore because it doesn't, but Republicans and Democrats equally are incapable of "fixing" that problem and get blamed equally depending on whos in power

Honestly, does anyone really care what the media outlets say anymore? The world gets their news off twitter now. Not like these people have investigated anything groundbreaking that has even come close to moving the needle recently.

Interesting. Twitter is run by a tech fascict who loudly bought elections and is now more quietly trying to buy elections for maga. He made of joke of himself through doge and squandered billions of taxpayer dollars. He also appears responsible for the most racist US refugee program in my lifetime.

I’d rather watch FN than get news off Twitter. FN has comedic value.

What is this “tech fascist” buzzword you’re using? Seriously please define it, because Elon musk is for free speech, and is systematically trying to weaken the power of government by dismantling it, not strengthen it. Since when is that fascism?

And deny it if you want, twitter is the only free speech platform in the public sphere. Everything else is censored, and twitter functions as the only news wire of our time with any reach.

Fascist is just the latest buzz word people throw around to describe someone they don't like. They typically have no understanding of what fascism is, so your post will only confuse them.

Not my opinion of free speech. His support of maga and other far right/authoritarian parties (AfD in Germany) rings closer to fascism than any other form of government.

This should be good. They can’t even define what a woman is.
Is maga still obsessed with that? It was that obsession that lead us into this current joke of an administration

Are y'all still concerned about checking gender on borth certificates outside of Mens/womens bathrooms?

Hard to keep track of whatever the current culture war obsession is on Fox "News"

Now it's Abdul El-Sayed.

Fascism is about strengthening the state, not weakening it, and is against free speech, not for it.

Not everything or everyone you don’t like is “fascist”
Call it what you want, but his ham fisted attempts to reduce the size of government seem to be strategically focused on the kinds of things that would keep the executive branch in check, without commensurate reductions in the strength of the executive branch. Not exactly weakening the state.

Heaven forbid a guy actually focus on his constituents rather than answering questions about what he’d do on Israel. MAGA is truly lost.
Why did you think Trump become president? You really think many (or even most) who voted for him were really concerned about the 'economy.'
