His posts over 1-2 pages were enough to change your read on him?
Now you're just being disingenuous. I literally said in the post you quoted that I took the time to go back and look at his earlier posts to get a better feeling for a person that I am just forming an opinion on.

Like, extremely disingenuous. Forgive me for being new, but is it especially villager to pick as many fights as you've been picking?

She's talking about me. Probably a good time to mention that I've gotten wolf vibes from her since yesterday. I'll do a full quote breakdown once I'm done cooking dinner for stoat
seems like a conveniently retaliatory time for you to ISO me.
From what I read so far, you thought I was wolfy for... asking questions? When I'm not even a question-asker like AM or Lawp. Are you sure you aren't mixing me up with someone else?

I've been walking my dog. Hold your horses, I'll explain why I feel that if you're not a wolf, you're doing their work for them.

I'm not understanding. You grilled Mel for two pages and then suddenly put him in your village reads and I don't understand how you go from point A to point B so quickly. That's why I think it's so weird.

am I one of these? Why are you village reading me?

Anyway, back to my catch up. I actually was village reading True until the last few posts I mentioned so maybe I'll see something that changes my mind. The fact so many of you are village reading him does make me take pause, yes.
Just a feel, similar to the feel I got in that one game where everyone yeeted you and I was reading you village

Can we hit the play button and go back to village reading him?

I'm behind True on this. I think you really are picking fights. And other than you cornering samac over her joke-yeet yesterday, I don't see how you've helped us wolfhunt.

re: fluff, didn't I make a comment about her yesterday? I thought I said something about her being villagey in my role PM but that appears to have been about puppydogtor.

I don't actually expect anyone to answer this so it'll probably just remind me to go look when I get to this post with my pbpa

So now that you have WZ’s list, what are your personal thoughts on the play of April and Blue?

I need to be able to evaluate YOUR thought process. I’m okay with you using WZ’s reads as a place to start but I would like to see your interpretations of people’s play. I’ve seen your interpretation of Visc’s play, and I disagree with it. Do you have thoughts on my Visc read and reasons?
I honestly have had a really hard time holding everyone in my head hence why I’ve stuck with basically one wolf read of my own. I remember being suspicious of April, but I don’t know that I could easily dig up the posts that Threw me as off. I think the posts similarly appeared like an attempt to softly, indirectly steer the conversation toward their position without owning their take in a way that seemed Wolfe to me. But again I don’t feel that tone reading seems as substantial as the basic thing that if DubZ put out a list of suspects those suspects are going to be the most suspicious to me after DubZ is murdered. I realize that the wolfs might be working 2 steps ahead on this logic but I think if I was a wolf and it seemed like someone was on to me, I would figure that I could get them and just explain away that “oh the wolves wouldn’t want to paint a target on their back” and have 1 less person that I knew was suspicious of me. so that is my thought process.

I've been trying to think who to yeet since I won't be on much tomorrow due to work but all this chatter just seems like, tbh, a group of friends deciding where to go eat... I just feel like there isn't much substantial news going on. So alas, I must come back tomorrow (tired) and analyze more. As for now,
The amount of players in this game is overwhelming, so I decided to ISO everyone who was in the noob game since I'm most familiar with them. Here is my rank from most wolfy to least wolfy:
stoat
violetvett
fluff
Ivy

WorthlessOxygen
potentialsheltervet

and my reasons...
Do you think this list has changes @puppydogtor ? Curious to see how much more info you've sifted through.

that's not hedging?
fluff sounds different and I can't tell if it's because I'm playing from a different viewpoint. I'm not good at analyzing meta when I was in the mod seat.
All in all, those posts were massively sketchy and generally those are a "too sketchy to be wolf" situation?
if you want real hedging, I'll admit that now I'm reading all of her posts with wolfy undertone because of the suggestion lol

These feel genuine to me. Too sketchy to be a wolf level stuff.

Though I do agree that fluff has sounded a tad bit different this game than the noob game, and I can't tell if that's because I no longer have my modding glasses on.
I went through your posts today. Let's not call it "picking fights" Throughout D1, you mainly focused on samac over a joke yeet-unyeet, then on blue, you said that she isn't the same as the noob game. Then today you argued with AM about how early the wolves killed Dubz on another game, and now you re opting to yeet True, who's literally been on everyone's village list over what? Something he said about AM in the beginning of the game? Or him changing opinions about Mel? I changed opinion about Mel too, by understanding that that's the way Mel interacts on these games and by following his logic. I don't follow yours.

Can you talk to me about your fluff read? I go back and forth on this.
I can see where the sus came from D1 with everything that's already been pointed out. That being said, I was also a super jokey fluff-posting mistake-making noob in my first handful of village games and definitely got called out for it more than once when I started playing with the vets. I see the villagey-noob-ness from my own play in her play. To add to that, I think (this could be one of my brain fart moments though) that a noob or two has spoken up and said this isn't very different from her village play in the noob game and the vets have a bit more of a problem with her play, making it feel more like just a village noob thing that doesn't sit well with the vets.

Her more recent posts today haven't shown the same level of weirdness as D1, but there are still a few points in her logic I don't entirely follow, and it feels kind of the same way as I feel about ivy - I try to follow the posts and I just go huh? Not to the same level as ivy though.

I'm not interested in yeeting fluff right now, but I don't feel comfortable removing her from the POE just yet. Tentative read is nooby village lean.

And that's not picking fights. That's playing the game.

I'm not picking on people when I question their reason for a move or read. You don't have to agree with my reads, just like I don't have to blindly follow a consensus village read on True. And just because I'm questioning someone doesn't mean that my read on them has to stay there.

Consensus village reads are in part how Dana pulled the wool over village's eyes in the noob game. When I'm consistently 10ish pages behind in the average WW game, I'm often reading posts without recent context and have found that to help me develop reads independent of other players. It's okay to question things. It doesn't mean my reads are any more right or wrong than anyone else's.

Ok. That makes sense and I can leave that to a "agree to disagree." I'd call it wolfy if you were just focusing on noob players but you've challenged samac and AM too, so it's definitely not that. I just don't see what you see in the players I mentioned.

okay this post sounds more villagey
I'd post that if I were a wolf. I'd love ****ing with people as a wolf. Pretty sure our noob wolves posted like that as wolves lol

Guys, I'm taking the dog out again because it's super icy here in MN and True slipped on the ice. Rostam has ten units of energy left. He made me dinner after work and cleaned up a bunch around the house so it's the very least I can do 😅

Brb don't let me off your accusation hooks yet, especially @puppydogtor and @Lawpy

There's a lot of forum to go through, I bookmarked a few posts, so fire away if there's something I miss. Sorry I keep posting but delaying on addressing the serious bizniz of clearing my good name! It's hard to not post little potato chip posts

anything can be WIFOM if you squint hard enough at it.

Tone is one of those things, but I play strongly off of tone. It doesn't work well for some players. It works beautifully for others. And he has points in both the wolfy and village direction so far so we'll see where he lands.

On that note: Future Sporty, you are on page 32. It was bedtime 1.5 hours ago.

I just wouldn't point to that as his "meh sounds villagey" comment. There's no art to making bland "what are the wolves thinking" statements. It seems like an easy way to back out of tunnelling True when other vets kinda shrugged at the tunnel

Honestly, I thought True was being inexperienced when he said he wolf reads you, but now that's made me curious to see what kind of write-up he has.

Although as the noob game has shown, people who want to yeet me are my blindspots. I'm less likely to want to yeet them in turn; True doesn't seem to think this way.

Ugh I had like 5 other quotes and they poofed. grrrrrr, hopefully they weren't super important

The urge to vote Vis for that fun 3-way tie...
I'm ignoring it though.

I'm literally still confused how Kal and Stoat ended up tied for the lead when neither of them were anywhere close to being yeeted when I left the thread 1.5 hours before close.

90 minutes is a long time in most scenarios.

Then perhaps you should consider that’s not why I’m saying it.
Mm. Maybe. Your reasoning hasn't struck me as the most balanced this game and I'd like to understand where you're trying to go with it. You're not on my list of woofies but the play style has taken you off my villager list too. It doesn't seem to be notable to any of the vets though, besides a couple of them dismissing your case against True (which I also find a very difficult one to believe)

Wow, this took a bit. Going to preface this with a big disclaimer: after going through all this, I'm not convinced one way or the other that SportPonies is a wolf. Heck, she leans villager. But I think the way she's been playing does have a pattern that would be perfectly consistent with a wolf.

EDIT- Added spoilers.

First ten posts or so, the 12 hours, are normal banter. High energy, a crack at Stoat, no real pings.
No.

Also no.
Then we get this one, which kind of starts it. A bit brusque, no reasoning, just rejection. I acknowledge that my initial read of AM doesn't align with the way y'all tend to play, but the approach here feels like it's asking for contention.

Early game:
it was already addressed by other players after I continued reading. I think the line of thinking is a dangerous way to validate reading AM, though I'm not necessarily awarding either of you wolf points for it*. It's just not something I'm condoning either lol

how about we don't start off the game with me being pissy at you? Don't put words in my mouth.
And frankly, that's a vast misconception of a statement in the first place.

*Edit: cuz you're noobs
Again, not a huge ping, just... contentious, in an unnecessary way.

The whole "AM is 90% village" thing within 4-6 pages of game thread is what I hold issue with, save for select few mechanical circumstances which really shouldn't be coming up in the first day of play unless necessary.

You are once again putting words in my mouth because I don't have an issue with cross-referencing. I think the certainty of the read this early, on a player historically difficult for many to read, is ripe for misdirection and caution should be heeded.
Okay, here's where it starts to feel weird to me. And again, let me acknowledge that my cavalier "AM is 85-90% village" statement was overly bold (but also got the conversation started, so mission accomplished). (Also AM is village, standing by it)

Pony made the "words in my mouth" statement again when AM wasn't really doing that, and she throw doubt on any read based on previous games. Saying that it's way too early, we need to take time. Who wins these games if the villagers sit back and take lots of time?

Since when can you read Mel?
Very next comment, casting doubt on a different person's ability to make an early read (Dubz, in this case). This time, it's not a wet-behind-the-ears noob, it's people who have played together and know each other. She's not being blatant about it, but still chiming in to tell people to cool their jets on early reads and slow the process down.

There is a steep difference between dy calling you village on D1 and a noob calling you village on D1. A noob does not have an AM reading card. Your point here is invalid.
She says there's a difference, but still casts doubt on both things.

After that there's a good stretch of posts that I find perfectly agreeable, and then:
hmmmm hmmm. Posts like this are often what I feel icky about but relatively consistently you've still been village with them so I guess we'll see what happens this game.

+1 village point, though I haven't played with meats in so long that I can't remember how she sounds when she's wolfy.

hmmmm. Don't know if I like this post. Low hanging fruit something or other.
Speculation on three people (all who various people pong as wolfy at the time), but her own reasons for painting them with the brush are extremely vague. "Low hanging fruit something or other?" Blue's hardly the only person to question Octo's strange posting behavior.

unyeet mommy
yeet samac

doesn't feel villagey; weird tingles with her joke vote unyeet
And this begins a push on samac. Not sure how I feel about her, personally, but the vigor with which she go after her seems very strange for someone who's spent most of the game so far emphasizing how uncertain Day 1 reads are.

These posts. I don’t know if sporty is reaching here or whether she has a valid point.

I'm not the only one who notices this.

Then more on this line:
Long story short, I'm not seeing the same type of play from you as I did in the noob game. I don't know if that's because I was privy to behind the scenes information or if it's because you're a wolf. You were just felt much more intuitive.

Dubz pointed out different reasons than I was feeling, however.
Big reach on Blue here; obviously someone's play is going to feel different when you don't have full behind-the-scenes information on the game. And the weird thing is, Pony is obviously smart and knows that. So... why? In my opinion, it's because at this point Blue has become an easy/safe villager to target.

Unfortunately, it is easy to say you'd "try to sound like your noob game" but there are a lot of subconscious tics and tones that you cannot control or even recognize.
A pretty wild statement given how much doubt she threw on people making assumptions from a relatively small number of statements at the beginning of the game.

I know you weren’t. There were several unyeets when you WERE around and posted immediately after them, THEN you disappeared.

I’m not condemning you for being busy. It’s what I saw while you were around.
smh if I really have to go back and pull the exact posts, I will. But later.
Back on the samac train with, again, an accusation with no meat behind it.

These are super wolfy
Now we get to today. Me this time, and it's again a quick and relatively strong-worded accusation with very little heft behind it.

Since when?

This is pretty wishy-washy and I'm not even sure I understand how you're agreeing with Mel here. You think a vet would've killed Dubz, but you don't think a vet killed genny, so you agree with Mel because he said Dubz was probably a NK?
Clouding/obfuscating someone's fairly well laid-out reasoning like this feels bad.

just something to contemplate when we have a Vis/YK/stoat flip
And again, oddly heavy with the wolf-colored paint.

And today:
This is odd, given you were riding Mel's butt for his posts like 1-2 pages prior to this.
And here we go! What kicked off this little back and forth today... was Ponies casting shade over someone's opinion developing, in a game about developing your opinions on people (and in which a truly massive amount of background material exists for some of the players).

guys, I kinda want to yeet the noob.
His posts over 1-2 pages were enough to change your read on him?
the one you think is a villager.
So then we get this- vague message, direct pushback on me, another vague message. When read in real time, felt pretty obvious who you were discussing (since most people have correctly read me as a clumsy newby villager, and said as much). Feels quite obvious that I'm the new target (lucky for samac and blue and Mel and Vis and YK, I suppose).

seems like a conveniently retaliatory time for you to ISO me.
From what I read so far, you thought I was wolfy for... asking questions? When I'm not even a question-asker like AM or Lawp. Are you sure you aren't mixing me up with someone else?
And here's the true weirdness; I say I'm going to look over your posts, and immediately the bristles come out. And we have the words-in-mouth thing that we saw with AM way earlier; I never said a thing about questions or asking questions. It came out of thin air, presumably to make me seem irrational? A very strange decision either way, since everyone can just read our posts.

I'm not understanding. You grilled Mel for two pages and then suddenly put him in your village reads and I don't understand how you go from point A to point B so quickly. That's why I think it's so weird.
If grilling someone can't change our opinions on them, what the heck is the point of any of this? Very strange thing to say, feels like you don't like the attention and have gone into full deflection mode.

am I one of these? Why are you village reading me?

Anyway, back to my catch up. I actually was village reading True until the last few posts I mentioned so maybe I'll see something that changes my mind. The fact so many of you are village reading him does make me take pause, yes.
Continuing the deflection mode, we now move into deescalation. If we were to assume wolf!Sport, this is meant to bring an end to the discussion and send attention to other people before folks who know her better and are better at the game start to get curious.

fwiw, comments on me being crotchety are fair. I've gotten increasingly grumpy as my WW life goes on and it's usually some degree of me bickering with AM. It's probably time for me to retire.
If this is genuine, I'm sorry. If not, it's clean manipulation that makes the reader feel bad for you, take your posts in a different light, and make you feel better so you want to stay in the community. I wouldn't accuse someone of emotional manipulation like that normally, but we're playing a game where ~20% of the players are supposed to do exactly that.

And after that, a full shift in the discussion does happen.

okay this post sounds more villagey
And here, the final deescalation. You throw me a bone! Thank you for that. It's also what wolf!Ponies would do to tie a bow on a slightly elevated situation, especially since I hadn't posted this pile of a post yet.

Thanks for reading. I hope Ponies isn't a wolf, in which case I hope she enjoys this game and doesn't retire from werewolfing.

@Truenamer Save this energy for tomorrow and help me war game someone else for whom I have clouded judgement

You're kind of buying me here, but I want to see how players who know Sporty better weigh in. It moves Sporty into the red zone for me.

Edit: the little efforts to impede village bloc formation really speak to me. I'm a big fan of having a village core formed as a priority.

Why do you act like me finding a wolf D1 is surprising? I'd wager I have a higher ratio than most on that account. You played a game where I'd found both wolves D1 and D2 and no one would listen to me, and wanted to vote me out instead. :yeahright:

I get zero credit around here.
Was this game HZD or a different game?? I don't remember if Mel was a wolf or if he found the wolves
Since we haven’t had any actual flips yet these are mostly just leans and feels for where I’m at on everyone.

~~Zenge's list here~~
I think this is a pretty solid reads list, and it seems in line with something village!zenge would make.
I'm trying to figure that out too. I'm also not familiar with the possibilities of roles, but maybe there is a NA that can duplicate an action? Like how I was the redirector and could redirect Player A onto Player B, maybe there could be an action where you duplicate Player A's action onto Player B, similar to the redirector where I didn't know what the action was or who the original target was
This is a very interesting tinfoil, so I'm giving you credit for that. It almost seems too specific for you to not have knowledge that this role actually exists in the game? Maybe its just creativity but I was surprised you suggested this out of the blue.
I was blindsided by the noob game where being vanilla was the exception. It looks like it’s more probable than that. They also probably don’t have a seer, or it’s 1x action and they keep it for later.
I'm not sure what you mean? The wolfpack could or could not have a seer. The wolves can't usually do actions in the same night that are contingent upon each other. For example, they can't say "seer alley and kill her only if she has a PR." They would probably pick a target for the factional kill and a target for their seering ability. They are not related and you cannot make any assumptions about what roles the wolves have right now.
Oh, I went to respond to this last night and then fell asleep.
Quoting this to see if she actually answered the question. So far, not yet.
She's also in mine, for the same reason you are. Very visibly active through mostly insubstantial, questioning comments that make it feel like you're looking for wolves while mostly stirring things and casting doubt.
That's just how Lawpy plays the game. He's already defended himself and explained, but he is well-known for asking questions like that and having a TON of short posts and questions. I do not see anything outside of his village meta rn, but I know I have yet to see wolf!lawpy.
yeah my vote is still for vis on the simple logic that WildZoo had implicated them with a whole methodology and then got ate. i think it's easy to get wrapped up on reads on reads on reads, but to me the most suspicious people are the ones who WildZoo directly implicated so...

still yeet @Viscernable
I still don't think wolves would do something that obvious. Just because Vis was Dubz's top wolf read means she immediately ordered the kill because of Dubz being suspicious of her. It is definitely WIFOM but IMO only the noobiest of wolves would do that with no other reasoning behind it. Hence why NK analysis is unfortunately not that helpful 95% of the time.

I'm getting pretty tired but I want to be completely caught up before I go to sleep. Here are my reads as of page 32. I don't think they will change a lot based on the next few pages.

Vets I'm feeling good about: AM, Mel, Zenge, Samac
Neutral Vets: VMH, Lawpy, Kal
Wolfy Vets/?????? (aka idk how to read them but they all seem sus): Sporty, Vis, April

Village-y Noobs: Pshelty and True
Neutral Noobs: Zuri, Puppydogtor, OctDoc, WorthlessO2, Stoat
Wolfy Noobs: Fluffy, violet, ivy

For the noobs, I am having a hard time distinguishing between noobness and actual wolfiness. Because a lot of it stands out to me and makes me cringe (not in a bad way, just can't think of a synonym) because it seems so incredibly wolf-like, but then I see a noob do it and I have a crisis over whether or not they're a wolf or just a noob.

That makes sense, since a lot of "wolfishness" is just people being stilted, trying too hard, or sounding forced- which are also all things that you'll see from people new to a community.
