Were you working today, and did you see any of those patients in that big bus overturned on I-15 today? I don't even remember if you work at a trauma center or not, to be honest.

Yes. I'm not at the trauma center but we got 5 of the minors. The problem was that with the rain and a regular busy day we were innundated before the MCI (multi casualty incident) call came in. We had people in the halls and on the walls all day. Drivers in Vegas cope with rain the way people in Miami would cope with snow. Bad to worse. I really think that drivers here see the rain and think, "I better go even faster so I can get out of this."

At least a lot of the Miami drivers are transplanted New York Jews.

Hmm... patients on the walls. Never thought of storing them there before. Gonna have to try that.

A "wall" pt is when you shove the gurney up against the wall and tape a sign above it that says something like "Hall 2 A" as opposed to the "Hall" pts who are the exam and go types and are seen in the hallway leading in from triage. Hall pts are usually sniffles, med refills, work notes, etc.
