May or may not have finally 'smashed' that submit button.

Oh get out of here. I'm probably older than some of the younger attendings at my program haha.I know! I am ancient! 😵
I think It’s super variable but from previous years I think we can all expect things to pick up starting in august. Is it usually this slow? Maybe I’m just anxious.. I feel like the Midwest programs are quicker to send their IVs. Any news on the east coast programs?

I actually thought the # of applicants per program would be higher this year due to the virtual interviews (no need to travel)… Not sure about the total pool of applicants thoughEcho the above. I think COVID has also slowed things down. Imho it would make sense for programs to give things a week or two to see what's going on before starting to send things out. I have a feeling that people are also trying to look at how applicant #'s will change based on how things have gone. I feel like less people are doing fellowships in psychiatry right now anyway, so I think everyone's trying to suss things out.

This is nuts lol! But... if you are really set on it you can ask fellowship PDs if they allow concurrent fellowships. Many CAP programs will allow fellows to participate in addiction, bioethics, MBAs, etc during same time as fellowship and some even pay for it!I'm just a glutton for punishment... hence my interest in doing child and then something else in addition to it down the way.
Are concurrent fellowships really a thing? I'd heard of doing MBAs, bioinformatics etc. but being able to complete addiction training during CAP is very intriguing. This is nuts lol! I am sure it'll be fine most places interview everyone. Unless some program you really want has somehow already filled all their interview spots but I doubt that's happened at very many places. How bad is it if i just certified my application yesterday?
Some of the programs I am interviewing at even the bigger ones haven’t filled out all their interview spots yet but I imagine It’s program dependent. I think if you have a program you really want and haven’t heard from maybe like late this month early September would be the time to send a letter of interest?Do most programs continuously send out interviews as the season progresses, or send them all out around the same time? I.e. If one hasn't heard from a place that sent out interviews a couple weeks back is it unlikely to get an invitation going forward?
How many CSV's are needed to be done? Is it program dependent?
I have the same feeling. Have two places that are by far my top two spots and not sure I'd even want to go anywhere else. I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot by having my application be complete too late.I feel like we're too dang early in this process for me to get antsy about not hearing back from the two places I really want to hear from. Third year at my institution is just a bit more challenging with regards to scheduling things.
GAHHH SO ANTSYYYYY!!!
Shpilkes central over hurr.
🤣🤣🤣
Okay, so a few of the places I've heard from have like... one open date left. That certainly doesn't help my anxiety over this.
When would be a reasonable time to email places? I feel silly doing it now because my application was just officially completed with the PD letter etc.

My wife's work situation and licensing I had to over apply for sure I sent to 18 programs but I am still only going to interview at 10. If not for my wife I probably wouldn't do more than 5 maybe 6. I really don't think we need to go to more than that. How many programs did you all apply to? And how many interviews do you plan on doing?
