i'm in too! ~3.5 for both cgpa and sgpa. and 5/23 mcat
I think I can handle studying for MCAT, However my summer school course grades wont be up until around July 25th! Should I prepare more and just take it on July 2nd or still take it May? Thanks guys!
Im in.
My stats are in my sign.
Thank you so much for your response rzoo14.. Ok, So AACOMAS will not send your application to the schools until the transcripts and MCAT scores are recieved??
Because I was thinking if there would be a way I could send in the primary applications prior to getting my summer school grades and MCAT score just to speed up the process..
You can still submit without having your mcat results then release them to aacomas once they're in. It'll help your primary get verified and probably save you some time.
I've seen a dozen of your posts today, and I hope you seriously reconsider retaking. Take a month off, and hit it hard to retake in May. It shouldn't be too hard to raise from a 24 to even a 26, which would be a significant jump in your case.
edit: Since we're posting stats:
AACOMAS - 3.4c/3.5s
AMCAS - 3.3c/3.4s
MCAT - 5/11 (going to be a 45)
I really am not in the position for retaking. I also believe my stats are better good. I am only applying D.O.
I'm looking to apply early this cycle too.
I'm thinking NSU, AZCOM or TCOM would be fantastic but I need to do some more research.
April 26- Man vs MCAT
Are you from Texas? TCOM accepts 90%+ instate.
Hello class of 2018 hopefuls! I'm Kenobi, your non traditional SDN Jedi. I will be a MS1 this year and having just gone through a pretty successful cycle I figured I might be useful to some of you. I know I've been able to help a few of you already, but would be more than happy to help anyone else with questions they might have on the process.
Here are some words from the master to keep you motivated as you study for the MCAT and get ready to apply:

Good luck and may the force be with you...
So my application profile looks almost complete. I just got an MCAT score of 27 (8,9,10) and my gpa will be around 3.5c and 3.2s. Let's hope that is good enough to get me in somewhere this cycle.
It feels weird to finally have the MCAT behind me.
I am now:
1. Trying to get my PS edited by a doctor that works at my uni med school.
2. Waiting to talk to the same doctor at my uni med school, to decide where I should apply. I probably will be applying to every D.O. school, no matter what he says. I really don't feel like taking the chance and applying M.D.
3. Studying for my CNA State Exam, I have a Home Heath Aide diploma and Med Tech certification but every place wants CNAs.
4. I want to take a make up course, so I can apply my own makeup for interviews, I usually get my makeup professionally done but money tight right now especially with app season coming.
5. I really need to lose weight, I will be trying to change my eating habits and exercise at least twice a day.
6. I need to clean my damn room.

Count me in guys! MCAT may 11... aiming for a 60 😉
See you there bro. Join the 5/11 thread in the mcat subforum.
You're not the first Star Wars mascarader I've seen round these parts. You should talk with The Wookie.

I say if you can afford it, at least apply to your state school and a few low tier MD. Even if it's a long shot, might as well try.

I think I read somewhere that you're an African American women (but apologizes if not); I think you have a good chance at historically black med schools.
I will try to but my finances are very low now, I just hope I can find a job as a CNA/HHA asap after I take the state board.
I don't even know if I can afford to go on interviews, I really wish the interviews could be done online for people who can not afford to travel.
I do not want to go to a HBCU.
why?
I don't get it either.
It's my personal choice.
It's my personal choice.
But now I am thinking maybe I should, I need to find myself a husband.
I am sorry, that you found it silly that I would choose my med school base on finding the husband but that my personal choice as well.

I mean seeing as kenobi and I have made med school choices to better accomidate our respective spouses I think ur taking it a bit more seriously than intended

Touchpause, I am reading it as: she wants to choose her med school based on which one will provide the best suitors for her.
If that is indeed the case, I find it beyond silly... "But that my personal choice".

Please, if there is one thing I've learned, professional school is THE place to be to hook-up.How bout concentrating on learning what it is to be a good doctor while there?

Sure, casually.
You're treating a casual hook up as a negative?

I wish interviews could be online for everyone! I can afford it (within reason) but the extra few thousand was still annoying/upsetting to spend 👎 a drop in the pot for the next few years of our lives though i suppose...
True and I like the idea that I wouldn't need to wear pants in the middle of an online interview
(not srs)
I mean pants-less interviews could be the new trend! 😉 In all serious though, I've done multiple Skype interviews for jobs and it actually was kind of cool. Then once accepted, people could choose to spend money if they want to actually visit the school. Just seems like it's financially a better solution to med school interviews!
the Carib schools have skype interviews
