Can I just say I am loving all of these Always Sunny references? Peep Charlie in my avatar LOL. Here's hoping you are waitlisted!

If anyone is driving from the east (I'm in western Mass) and has any room in their ride, please please let me know. I'm at school without a car and no buses or trains really go from where I am.

Hey, I go to UMass and will be driving on February 2nd 🙂 I will only be staying over thursday night and will be driving back friday when it's over at 5 pm

If I was accepted to Cornell I wouldn’t even accept my IS school!! I 2nd your “no brainer”!

@TopGun86 @FancyHatWearingManatee

Yup, Penn is my IS, and it's a HUGE decision - so I'm taking my time ^_^ I'm absolutely ecstatic for either program, and am of course regarding Cornell but again it's a HUGE decision so I'm taking my time 🙂 Hope that makes sense.

Totally makes sense! Vet school is so crazy debt to income wise, you have to make wise financial choices otherwise it could hurt later! Also, it's nice to have a support network nearby if you have family/friends in the area.

Indeed! And with Penn I would, and with Cornell I wouldn't :/ but either way I'm going to wait on the financial aid offer, and go from there. Also @TopGun86 I didn't apply to the dual degree program, I'm finishing up my PhD/defending my dissertation this summer. If you've applied to the dual degree program I've read in my letter that those acceptances are coming later! Hope that helped and good luck everyone!!!! Also think I'll be going to the Feb 2nd open house, see y'all there!!! lol 🙂

I am in the same boat where I haven't received an email about my PIN but did notice the decision was made. 🙁

Thank you! I hate to ask you this but may I ask how old are you and what’s your research on? Thanks

No email either. The portal says there is a decision waiting for me, though.

I had a google email set up as the main contact. Maybe google issues? IDKKK im trying to think of something!

My email is my undergrad and I got the email just fine last year 🙁 Ive looked in all my clutter and junk and such even tried not using the mac app and it didnt show it.

Hey fellow Cornell cuties,

I'm probably going to go with the February 2nd weekend, with the intent of driving up Thursday night and back Saturday morning (it's like a 2 hour drive). I live in Rochester, so if any of you are flying in to ROC airport for that weekend and that timeframe works for you, HMU and I'll give you a ride. Not to brag or anything, but I have a pretty sweet 2008 Honda Accord with a ton of dog fur on the seats, so yeah, it's a pretty classy transport.

Also, I have snow tires.

Yay! See you then!

Me too! Looked everywhere, but I don’t have an email with a pin. :arghh: I was really hoping my research and publications would count for something, but I haven’t been invited for interviews anywhere. Someone I met from UGA said “Oh honey, you’re too old” (47) so maybe it’s not meant to be. 🙁

No worries! I'm like the only woman in existence that doesn't get offended by the age question 😉 haha I'm 25, went for my PhD straight after graduating undergrad (my bachelors degrees are in biology and animal behavior). My PhD dissertation involves investigating the effects of stress during early life and its impact on future adult behavior in different species of fish. I'm interested in behavioral medicine, hence the Austin Powers ref as my display pic lol Also interested in mixed animal and shelter animal medicine.

Hi there! I'm coming Jan 26nd OOS and I'm a bit worried about transport... Do any of you have advice about where to fly in? Like do I need to fly into Ithaca or could I fly to Syracuse then take a bus? Thanks!!

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted so far! I can't wait to welcome you to the Cornell family :claps:For anyone that didn't make it in this round, keep your chin up and persevere. There are a TON of people in my class that did not come to vet school straight out of undergrad whether by choice or because it took more than one try to get in. They are all amazing and I am lucky to have them in my class. As for you waitlisters... congratulations to you too!!! That is a huge accomplishment in itself and I was in your shoes a year ago. I went to an info session (where I met lots of other waitlisters) and then I got the call in late April that I was pulled off the waitlist and offered admission. I know it sucks to have to wait so long for people to start getting called off the waitlist but seriously... keep hope because A LOT of my classmates were also pulled from the waitlist. Cheers everyone!

I'd fly into Syracuse. I'm not sure about taking a bus... I live like 10 minutes from that airport it's like an hour drive! I'm working or I'd offer to go that day... Also if I can help anyone flying in for the February 2nd session. I'm more than happy to carpool from Syracuse airport!

Screw that, don't give up! If it doesn't happen this year, take the admission offices up on their offer to review your application so you can make it even more badass for the next. When I met with my pre-vet advisor two years ago she scowled "who told you you could get into vet school.." because I went two years to community college. At first, I was devastated but then I worked even harder to prove her wrong -- so please do the same because you are never too old!

Whoa...whoever told you that is rude af.

This is kind of an insane process, don't give up hope if it's your dream. Do you have veterinary hours? That seems to be a huge deal to these programs - I've seen some premeds with 3.9s & pubs try to switch over last minute and apply vet and get rejections across the board because of zero/non diverse hours.

Also, I feel like often times these acceptances are so damn close anyhow, and while hard work goes into prepping, at the end of the day there's an element of luck there as well.

I know right?!

Some people just suck and don't like to see others succeed! I was a theater major with zero math/science background, and when I started this process 2 ish years ago, I legit had a former friend (he's a med student) tell me that I was suffering from Dunning-Kruegerism because there's no way I could complete the prereqs as a humanities graduate, I "just couldn't comprehend how hard it was" and "shouldn't aim so high." I ended up here, on this forum with you lovely people headed to a kickass vet school. So yeah, the best revenge is proving idiots wrong. Don't give up.

To those of you who didn’t get in this year, I cannot stress enough: DONT GIVE UP, and do file reviews!! I was flat out rejected last year to Cornell as well as all of the other schools I applied to... it was disheartening to say the least, but I met with Jennifer Mailey and she was so incredibly sweet and helpful. I did everything she suggested to do to improve my application, and it worked out for me this year! So please don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do it, because you can if you work hard enough!

RSVP'd for February 2nd! 🙂

I hope it's not going to feel weird going as an alternate...
Hell no! It's mad competitive these days, for all we know we each got our spots by the skin of our teeth!

You're still on the waitlist for the best vet school in the world (again, HEAVILY biased lol). And that's an achievement! Also, I don't think they probably identify you as an alternate at the open house, I'd imagine we're all treated the same.

Anyone who didn’t get their letter yesterday have you gotten it today?
