No negativity! Yes they look at everything, but they don't invite you for an interview just to fill a seat. They saw something about you and at your interview you had a chance to let them meet the real you. This is my third year applying and my first two interviews so it's a struggle to think about anything else, but stay positive. You're probably on hold, not a strong candidate but not a no. Most schools have post Dec interviews, it's not over!
Schools will release the information whenever they get around to announcing it. This is my third cycle and usually I’ve heard by 11:00 am.
Nope that’s why this is #3. First year I was wait listed at one school, second year got rejected, third time 1 interview and heard nothing from the others. I understand why I was rejected last year, so I’m okay with it. Just wish I would hear from the other schools. Even a rejection brings some kind of closure.
Third year applicant and I just got my first two interviews. Persistence shows, this is our year! (Think positive, it'll happen). I always have people ask about my back-up plan. My plan is to keep improving and reapply. To me, if you have a plan that doesn't involve reapplying maybe you shouldn't apply in the first place. I know I'm not the ideal candidate (Long story, non-traditional), but I know I'll be an amazing dentist.

I finish this fall semester and will basically be off from school in the spring and summer. Don't you fear not being able to go back to school and be productive in dent school after being off for so long? This is a fear I have honestly.

Mine are still invited for interview. Do they usually change? I'm always scared when I check.
No, they still say 'invited for interview.' I have 3 that have told me no already and two of them changed to 'application denied.' The third says 'none' and the schools I haven't heard from either say, 'received/application complete or 'received/under review.'
For Iowa, my status has been “Check Back Dec 1st” since the middle of October. They’re the only school that has done that, though!
Last year people got that as well, and that usually meant an acceptance. So congrats? lol

I got purple hibiscus but I haven't read it yet, but I did let my friend borrow it and she was crying the whole time she read it so I'm guessing it's really good as well. haha
