CSU 2024-2025 (c/o 2029 hopefuls)

for real it's crazy how there's a delay in basically everything
Seems that it will push everything back.. since decisions being released late means that applicants will have less time to choose which program they'd accept if given multiple offers, which means waitlists won't move much until after April 15, which means that a handful of future students will only have less than 4 months to prepare for moving + starting a doctorate program if given an offer.. that is so stressful. It is such a big life change and to have less than 4 months, potentially only a month, to prepare for it, is nerve-wracking.

And at the same time, reapplicants may start their VMCAS late so that they have all decisions in from the previous cycle first, so then there's less time to complete VMCAS.. bleh.

You make a good point with the waitlist movement. This is my first time applying and while I expected a wait I am kind of shocked how little time people are given to decide on such a monumental decision. Especially with interviews in February and then some places not even giving decisions until late Feb

Right, I thought that was bizarre as well. I heard nothing from all of my schools until late November, and luckily now I should have most decisions in by the end of January. But another school I applied to decided to hold a pre-screening before inviting applicants for interviews, which pushes the timeline of final decisions to either late February or early March.. which is hard for me to fathom. I would imagine that school's waitlist in particular will move quite a bit as I imagine applicants will want to have a solid plan for their year before March, and if other schools have already accepted them months before...

Was that pre-screening interview from UTK? 😂 I got that one as well unless other schools are doing it too. It’s like a Russian nesting doll of interviews LOL.
Ugh that’ll be like 3 schools that I won’t hear back from until late Feb/early March if UTK offers an actual interview. We’ll see I guess…I feel like I need that remote control from Click (yes unabashedly referencing an Adam Sandler classic)

It'll be okay. The time will pass by regardless and decisions will be here soon enough!

I was hoping to not have to sign up for my last pre-req today if I didn't need to. It's cool. I didn't want that $1500 in my bank account anyway. Cool cool.
legit I feel that pain....when rent comes around I'm lucky if I have 12 dollars in my account these schools are playing with us 😭

Has anyone heard anything more concrete than “mid to late January”?

Will we also get an email or do we need to check the portal obsessively 🤣

Has anyone received any denials for incomplete apps/prereqs or is that all being released at the same time

Everything is released at the same tim
Last year my friend got a denial in Oct/Nov and when she emailed it was because she never stated on VMCAS she would take cell physiology so they assumed she wasn't taking it (she didnt know she had to take it). So they definitely send out denials prior to the official decision day.

Ok ty bc tbh idk if I had all my requirements but I guess I’ll see!

I took quarter unit classes and I’m not sure if I’m short like half a unit for one class

I am checking my email and the portal like a crazy person.. there's only 9 days left in January and that is driving me crazy... my heart is racing thinking about it.. I NEED TO KNOW!!!! haha! How is everyone doing? What are our bets for dates they will release decisions?

I'm hoping for this Friday. 🤞 It's really expensive as an OOS choice IF I even got in (which I'll be honest is a loooong shot) but still their equine program is so good it would be awesome to consider

When I share gifs of Moira Rose slowly descending into madness know that I, too, am naming my wigs and talking to myself in a motel closet. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hello and welcome! ☺️ I think we all share your anticipation! Every day seems to be longer than usual while we wait for our lives to take a certain turn, but it sure is fun to come to this forum to exchange laughs and air out our worries or concerns 🥹 I really love it here! 🩷 at this point, I am telling myself that they will send out decisions on the last day of January, and anything before that is a treat!

Definitely have my eye on their equine veterinary offerings! Especially repro. But it is almost double the cost of most other schools, and the COL isn't the lowest for the FoCo area.. but its such a good program... aghhh.

Their equine program is great!! my fingers are crossed for you! We will know soon, it's a matter of when we get in, not if we get in. ◡̈ Nice to meet you btw! thank you. Fingers crossed for Friday!
