Dartmouth?

Does anyone know when they review the waitlist? Do they not take a look until right before May 15th when the withdrawals start coming in?

Gah I got nothing in the mail. Can anyone share when their letters were postmarked?

Nothing for me today either - except a refund check from one of my withdrawals! WOO!

I just want some closure. Are they really still considering my application 6 months after my interview? This is somewhat frustrating.

Received my acceptance letter in the mail today in CA (interviewed on Feb. 28).
I will be withdrawing so good luck to everyone!

For those waitlisted, did you/will you fill out the financial aid stuff? I vaguely remember them saying something about doing it... but that was a while ago.

Those placed on the DMS wait list (me!) need to submit the FAFSA, DMS financial aid application, 2007 student tax return and 2007 parent tax returns before APRIL 30th. All information is included in the "Financing Medical School" handout that we were given at the interview, but you can also find the forms online through the DMS financial aid office. Admissions stresses getting financial aid info submitted ASAP so that in the event of an acceptance, DMS can quickly provide you with a financial aid offer (AKA you don't want to have to make a decision without knowing about your financial situation). Hope that helps!

Hi Guys,

I interviewed 3/13 and just got my acceptance letter today in Toronto, Canada.

Waitlisted after nearly 4 months. Letter came today in California...time to do my taxes and submit my FASFA....

Hey guys it looks like the waitlist letters are gradually streaming in...it might feel like a death sentence but there's still hope. Dartmouth doesn't rank their waitlist so I have very strong reason to believe it's one of those where if someone with a similar file and demographic to yours withdraws, then a spot will open up.

Again remember that most of the applicants accepted here are also being accepted at the Penns, Harvards, etc and clearly USNews dictates that you MUST go to the highest ranked school you get accepted into so spots will open up definitely post May 15th.

Do your part-show interest in a non-obnoxious manner and hope for the best. I was in the same exact situation last year and honestly my health has never been the same again so I know how you feel :luck:

Waitlist on 3/31 via snail mail. Interviewed in December. More waiting.

Hi Guys,

I interviewed 3/13 and just got my acceptance letter today in Toronto, Canada.

Wow, that was quick! I interviewed with you, but haven't heard anything. Has anyone else on here interviewed that week or later? And if so, have you heard anything, good or bad?

I just called in to verify again, and the lady said the last comittee meeting is this Thursday. She said IF they make all decisions, they'll probably be mailed out Friday, but there's always a chance they won't get everything decided, and then there could be a delay. That's still promising, though.

I didn't get anything today so I'm guessing that I'm getting in on this next committee meeting...

i interviewed on 3/13 as well and heard that i was waitlisted last week.

Huh, well, I wonder why I haven't gotten anything... What day was your letter dated? Anyone else on here who interviewed 3/13?

They may be deferring your application to future meetings like mine has over and over and over again.

I'm sorry to hear they've kept deferring a decision!

I interviewed on 3/13 and have yet to hear anything. Quite nervous. Although, I must say I am pretty committed to UC Davis at this point!

I've heard from several sources that their last adcomm meeting is this Thursday, which means my application will have to be up for final review. HUZZAH! October felt like such a long time ago 🙂

I interviewed in 3/20 (LAST DAY) and I'm banking on this last committee meeting. Hopefully they don't run over...😕

good luck to all those still waiting!

i was wondering if anybody had the second look schedule or had that website accepted students could log into for more info?

thanks!

Anyone live close enough to hear yet this week? Interview dates and decisions?

I called to ask a different and totally unrelated question, but i was told that they had a meeting last night which may (hopefully) have been the last meeting.

No news here in MA. I thought it was funny that my interview invitation arrived in the mail a few days AFTER I scheduled my interview (since they e-mailed me about it) and AFTER I received the information packet in the mail about my interview at Dartmouth on 3/XX/08.

Who knows!

DoctorDreamer, did you ever hear back from Hopkins?

Yup, REJECTED. Posted in the JHop thread. Not that I'm at all surprised. I'm starting to feel like I have no hope for a decent residency, seeing as people hate me. A bit of an exaggeration, I'm sure, but my self-confidence has definately taken a hit during this process.

I'm not even holding out for DMS. I loved the school and would be thrilled, but I'd also be shocked.

Have you been admitted anywhere yet? Oklahoma? Keep your head up. It's a long, arduous process but you got to keep your hopes up.

Yeah, I've got Oklahoma, and I'm upper 1/3 of the waitlist at Colorado, and waitlisted at Emory, and CAP at Georgetown.

So, has anyone heard from last Thursday's meeting?

Well, the worst case scenario is that people will be calling your "Dr. DoctorDreamer" in 4 years. I hope you get good news from Dartmouth. :luck:

Aw, thanks, PhysicsNerd42! I had a blast meeting all you guys, and I really loved the DMS atmosphere. BUT I really didn't feel like my interviewers got to know me well, so I'm preparing for the worst... Which I guess would be me going to med school somewhere else, so it's all good. 😉

Anyone checked their mail? I would've expected someone to hear something by now if they mailed out alll decisions on Friday...

Waitlisted for DMS. Got snail mail last Friday-ish, the letter was dated 3/28. Hope this info helps.

I'll get my mail between 3-4 this afternoon. I expect that if anything was mailed Friday, I'll be getting it today or tomorrow. I'll keep you informed.

I think the last adcomm meeting was pushed back to Friday night, so I think if anything that the final decisions were mailed out today. I'm hoping not though. I will be getting my mail in an hour or so.

I got an offer today if that's helpful to anyone. Very shocked and excited about it. Shocked because I interviewed on 3/18. Excited because I loved the school. 🙂

Good luck to everyone. This has been a loonnngg season.

When was your letter sent? and congrats!

I called in today to see if all decisions had been made/sent. I was told that some decisions, but not all, had been mailed. They're "working on" getting them out.

Sweet. I'm psyched to get my last decision of the cycle and be over and done with this! (except for the waitlists of course!!!)

aces, congrats on your sick acceptances!!

Letter dated April 4th.

Sigh. Anyone know what waitlist movement is like?

I'd imagine it to be quite good. I don't think many people would want to be stuck in Hanover for the next 4 years of their lives. I on the other hand, would love to.

You would go to DMS over Mt. Sinai?!

I guess all to their own 🙂.

Nice profile, I wish I was you!!

meh, I'm not either for or against being in a major city. I'd probably put DMS on the same tier as MSSM (if I was accepted of course) on my list.
