Does AMCAS count May Semesters as part of Spring, or as a separate semester?

The undergraduate university I go to has a third term at the end of the year that is a three-week May Semester. It is optional, but are great for GenEds and such, but I was wondering if anyone else has a similar experience with May Semester or J-Term classes, and if AMCAS factors them into Spring semester GPA or if it is counted as a separate term GPA? Thanks in advance for any help, and sorry if it has been asked before.

Was it classified as summer by your school or AMCAS? Thanks!
AMCAS classified it as summer semester. My school classified it as "special semester" or something weird like that
