I didn't check yesterday, I checked today so I am not sure when a change was made. I did not think of checking the banner for updates. I have not received an e-mail with a decision update though.

oh ok it was most likely updated yesterday with everyone else who had their updated.. so far the people who have been updated have either been accepted or waitlisted as of yet..so i think its def a positive thing. you will def get a letter by tmrw or monday, please update us on your status and good luck!
 
Hopefully you're right 23 (hehe our names are very similar). I will update with news

I see a lot of people saying they got their letter today. Was it mailed to you or an email? Im pretty sure its email just wondering because I havent checked my mail in a while.
 
How exactly do we know that the waitlist is small?, Im on it too and Im trying to be hopeful but they kept emphasizing how many people they interviewed.

that is speculation from the past, they usually don't waitlist t00 many because they don't take that many but we don't know how many people they took this year, I say all waitlist still have a really good shot especially since everyone else still waiting may very well be rejected.. good luck
 
Let's just be patient and wait and see. Maybe there will be another wave of acceptances, I mean it seems like a lot of people's banners haven't even been updated. I had always heard that they would notify us on Friday and Monday. So maybe one group started on Friday and the next will start on Monday. These things take time, as I'm sure admission committees need to be very thorough and careful both in their decision making and notification process. I know people's primary concern is that we haven't heard of any rejection emails yet, but hey let's not worry so much just yet!

This is true! Let's see what tomorrow brings. The optimist in me says "accepted until otherwise stated" lol
 
Those accepted into track 2 can you share your mcat scores please? Just wanna know if the new requirements are applied.
 
wow super high MCATs...just a theory, but maybe they accepted first the people they were really sure about and will fill the class in with the folks on the border line... I'm sitting at a 3.1 28mcat *crossing fingers* ... does it seem like they have at least 40 people accepted yet?

Same here lol and it doesn't seem like 40 at all so I'm a bit more calm

Maybe i am a bit more pessimistic but they must have accepted 40+ people already considering the facebook is approaching 20 members.

Lack of acknowledgement of rejection email also shows that the process isn't random. It is more likely that they have sent out all the acceptance and waitlist email.

From the number of people on the FB group, those reporting acceptances here (which may be on the FB group), to those silent/unaware of this site or FB (is that really a possibility?), I'd say we're anywhere from 15-25.

A few of the Facebook members are actually current students as well. Met some during my visit
 
just checked the fb group and its sitting a 15 and 4 are current dpmsers that makes 11 on the fb group ...and we still don't know how many people they are gonna take this year..if they take 45 there could still be 30 or so spots let out there, never know..doesnt seem like any more action as of today

That just skews things. I'm so tired of speculating. Just gonna wait 'till Wednesday now. Gonna start working on a Plan B and C meanwhile.
 
and lets also remember that 3 people reported waitlist already meaning that they would've had to send out more than 40+ emails if they are done with acceptances..i think we would've seen a little more action on here or fb if they did that...just a theory
 
Just to give a little insight here on what people may think is going on. I am fairly new to the forum. I have known about sdn for years but it was not until about a some time ago that I knew that the dpms had a forum on here( I work over 50 hours a week in a lab so it's kind of hard for me to find free time to scope things out lol) . So maybe some ppl do not know that there is a forum where they can actually express their acceptance, rejections, or wait list status. Also some ppl may be very shy to post things on the forum. All in all I think the best thing for everyone is to just stay confident and calm. Sometimes a REjection may mean a REdirection. I have had a lot of rejections this year and I used those to help me redirect my path to finding different means to get to my dreams. I just pray everyone finds clarity at the end. It's never a race always a journey and the journey will come with a lot of ups and downs. It is getting there that matters. 🙂

And to add to that, there are some people I noticed who joined SDN/started posting on this forum after acceptances where sent out. That indicates that there are many people reading this forum who are not actively participating in it. It is probably less likely that someone is going to start participating/join to say they have been rejected/waitlisted if they haven't been participating all along. I understand people joining the conversation after being accepted, as it is a good way to get to know other people who have been accepted. Just a thought.
 
So i got an email i was accepted, and tho am happy, am sad i was placed in track 1 because of my verbal score and i need to retake the mcat. i hoped my 11 in bio and phys will cover my 6 is verbal. I doubt it will be easy to do the dpms coursework and study for this new mcat which seems to be really harder than the last. and they are giving us till march to do it. :nailbiting:

During my Interview Day there were several track one students who made it through the program and were first year med students. I think it is actually doable and with hard work and dedication. So do not doubt yourself! It can be done!
 
good luck to those still waiting and again congrats to those who have been accepted. I don't know if I'll be lucky enough to get an acceptance email this week, but I'm fairly optimistic that there will be some more acceptances going out. Just doesn't seem to me like everything is done yet.

@PersistentDoc21 congrats... the most important thing about this is that you have your future in your hands. You know that the only thing standing in between you and your acceptance to medschool is a test and some classes. Make it your mission to dominate. I think as enticing as this program is, it is not for everyone, there is a lot of money on the line here, but you have proven that you are capable, that you are "persistent", and if you want it bad enough and put in the time , you will make it. It is by no means going to be easy, but then again most things worthwhile in life aren't easy. good luck to you and sorry for the pep talk if you weren't looking for one.lol.

stay strong guys, I'm sitting here trying to keep the faith and I kinda need y'all who are still in the wait with me to lift me up too.lol..good luck to us all, let us achieve our dreams, let us better ourselves, and better the lives of others because at the end of the day thats what its all about.

hello everyone, so since I got a few messages about this I figured I'd just reply on here.

So after looking everything the crazy nerves that have been up and down on here I just want to tell everyone to take a deep breath and try to not stress yourselves out. Like someones mom said your all just gonna give urself ulcers haha. I honestly doubt they have sent out all the acceptances and if you haven't heard anything yet then whats the point of stressing urself out just to assume the worst. From the beginning I mentioned that more then likely no one would find out a definite answer until Monday. Well turns out some of you guys got lucky enough and found out sooner, so thats awesome! I assume, again just speculation, that Ms. Kennedy probably decided from all the phone calls and concerned email that she has been receiving from you guys that she would try to put together and send out a few of the emails out "early" to try to settle some of that down and it looks like she even did it on her day off. Someone said something along the lines of, how could they send out some emails but not all don't they realize we would find out... Uhhh the answer is NO, no they don't know and they don't come on forums to see what people are saying. They are super busy in the admissions office at the med school to be concerned with any of that. I understand that to everyone on here this is your world right now and understandably so, I was the same. That being said you have to learn to relax and have faith, if its meant to be it will be and if not then theres other paths to lead you to your goals. I went thru 3 cycles of med school applications always rejected and did a masters program to boost my gpa before being accepted into DPMS and then matriculating into the med school. So just know it might not happen right away but if you work hard and know this is what you want you can make it happen!

Again I assume that by Monday they will be sending out another batch of emails and even then it might not be all of them. What you guys might not realize is Ms. Kennedy also has to deal with the regular med school class of 2019 waitlist and all that comes with that entering med school class. They also have to deal with the current DPMSers that are matriculating and the other post bacc programs from drexel that might have been accepted into the current entering med school class. On top of that yes they have all of the current DPMS applicants that they are working to send out emails about. Plus for all anyones know maybe they are holding off on sending everything out to see if maybe they take more then the normal size class for DPMS or. The bottom line is no one really knows whats going on but drexel admissions so theres nothing to do now but stay positive and wait. Also as far as I know there is no specific pattern could just be she has a pile and is sending them out top to bottom and its a mixed stack of acceptances, waitlist, and rejections. I found out a week after most people did according to my years DPMS forum, so if I would have jumped the gun I probably have driven myself crazy. Instead I found out later on but in the end an acceptance is an acceptance. So just have some patients theres not too much longer to wait now.

Also I wanted to congratulate everyone thats been accepted! For the people waitlisted I think at least two people in my year got in off the waitlist that i know of so could be more. Hope you guys all make it and that I get to meet a lot of you guys this summer. Good luck to you all.

@Maytheoddsbeinyourfavor stay positive from what I have seen you have always had a good head on your shoulders about things and are usually always right on.. so don't give up now and good luck
 
I am genuinely rooting and praying for all of you guys...I don't personally know any of you guys, but your posts on this thread tell me that you have a great passion for medicine and a desire to give back to your communities. I know waiting, especially at this point, is very hard but stay strong my friends. Stay positive my fellow SDNers and lets hope for more good news tomorrow. Good luck!
 
Received my acceptance this weekend. Track 2. Was anyone else from the 5/21 interview accepted? I really enjoyed everyone that I interviewed with so it would be really cool to see everyone again. Good luck to everyone though! I'm sure that more acceptance emails will be sent out soon!

lol same I have a 30 but my gpa is really bad I actually applied got interviews but nothing went through. I am just glad I will be able to fix my gpa with this program.
 
Hey guys, I know when I make a phone call it's either love or hate, but I did again. I spoke to Kelli Kennedy and thinkmed was pretty much dead on. She just wanted to get some letters out a little earlier this year. All the acceptances/have not been granted and she will be sending more decisions out in the next day or two...so we're still in the game.

I, personally, have appreciated every phone call. Better to ask than to speculate!

Good to know we shouldn't count ourselves out yet.

For those who are in, did anybody find out for sure if we have to pay for housing in the dorms the first 6 weeks? I rather find a place sooner if we have to actually pay for the dorms themselves.
 
My portal just changed to the the admissions committee has made a decesion.....etc not sure what this means though
 
Not to incite any more panic (actually, that is precisely what i am doing) but looks like there is another wave of banner update.
