Well, that is most unfortunate. But then again, we may not have had a single wolf up for lynch. Again, I'm not so sure that there were many to start with.

I'm pretty confident that at least some useful villagers survived the lynch, but those with revealed or hinted at roles are at high risk tonight. Hope that we have enough defensive roles to cover everyone who needs it.

A death in Telgar Hold, and of such a prominent and important person, and Pern wanted justice! Killers were on the loose and they must be stopped. Questions were asked, theories were concocted, fights broke out, and it seemed Pern was in turmoil. Finally they decided someone in Tillek Hold had to be working with the killer! Names were put forth, and eventually Animal Midwife was singled out. She tried to protest, exclaiming that she was but a useful villager, and sounded convincing. But who else could it be?! LotF was put forth and dismissed, katashark was considered briefly. But then it was decided that Jilary had to go. She wasn't contributing enough and giving off the wolfy-vibes. Which is really quite unfortunate as Jilary was a very friendly face indeed, sharing a glass of quality Benden wine on a nightly basis.

I'd feel more foolish except that I didn't see any great candidates. Everyone had someone ready to speak for them or had something plausible to say for themselves. I wasn't happy about Jilary, but I wasn't happy with any of our options. I hate that we have to lynch someone every day, because it inevitably is going to lead to some innocents going down for unfortunate reasons.

yup. I made the mistake of thinking Jil would come say something in the time I had allotted. I appear to be excellent in finding people who have random life events that prevent them from checking in.

Fair enough! Like I said, it's just feels, and minor ones at that. I'm not trying to imply that everyone who has tithed is a wolf and everyone who hasn't tithed is innocent, or course. I'm just thinking out loud.

The second thing you said is actually kind of what I'm saying, though. Just phrased better.

So. Having said that if I were a wolf I'd volunteer to tithe and then retract it .... I probably wouldn't (upon reconsideration). When I'm a wolf, I try to play as 100% honestly as I can. Too risky not to, unless it's some major end-game move, or unless the risk is super worth it. But telling your group you'll tithe and then not? At this point in the game? That'd be a dumb risk.

So I kinda take back what I said. 🙂

That Thread shutter thing sounds like a protective measure to me, for instance. It seemed to keep out the ability thief, which sounds like a positive thing to me. And if Thread had been coming down, that could be a great thing.

I'm also not loving the LotF lynch, but I'm don't want to take out Kata either. Jillary might be a good choice...

Sorry guys, I was at work helping with an euth and I wasn't around to see the lynch go crazy.

My AM vote was based on really, really light feels - if we're looking for a wolf in my hold, she was the person who seemed the most promising. That's not really saying much. It's also possible there is no wolf in my group and the ability thief counted on the 1/6 chance of stealing from someone who wasn't tithing. I'm not totally convinced by her reply on the thread - she's played enough games to not pull the 'I'm so confused!' card. Her potential role sounds likely, so I think it's worth keeping her around and not voting her way tomorrow.

Still no thread in the skies, for which the Pernese were both grateful and annoyed. Grumble grumble wasted tithes. The night was full of more than just grumbles however, as mischeif was managed, items were created, and dragons were brutally murdered. That's right, in the dead of night, asleep on his stone couch, a great bronze dragon of Pern was strangled. His poor rider is inconsolable.

Nothing particularly unusual. Did get a message for the entire group "Gwen- I am a blocker and tithed N1 and N3" (might be paraphrasing a bit with that one). Everyone in my Hold has been eying each other suspiciously for a bit, given the number of attempts on our lives. But there was nothing exchanged in the group chat that would seem to have lead to so many attacks, and we can't PM with one another, so it's not like there's much opportunity for a wolf to be rooting out useful roles and killing them without all the rest of us having seen them do so.

Not that getting rid of me is some sort of huge wolf goal, but maybe I was easy pickins. I have barely played with Kam, and been hardly mentioned so far, so it just seems odd that I get an early lynch vote when I won't be around much.

The rider might die. At the least they tend to get very depressed and even withdraw from society and reality. I don't remember right this minute but I thought there was a name for grieving riders. There are very few riders that recover enough to be useful. I don't remember this either, but I think I remember something about trying to Impress a new dragon onto the rider to help with recovery, but I don't remember if that was a thing they did on purpose or if it was a failed experiment during a Fall when they needed more in the air.

I would only think it would turn out that way if we had a fairly villager-leaning role set to begin with. It's not a 1:1 ratio so adding two villagers makes much less of an impact than adding a wolf and a villager if the game is already balanced. But i could see it working that way if the original set was pro-village. There's really no way to know so we'll just have to evaluate them like anyone else throughout the game. I would just say they are slightly more likely to be village, DVMD especially since mods didn't know they would have another add-on when she was added.
