Congrats to everyone as well!! I was interviewed on Sept 10th.

Wow! That's awesome. Not sure if you remembered our intros, but I was the one "married to my best friend 🙂 "

I remember you! I was sitting on the other side of the table nearest to the tv. One of us should start a fb group!

I remember you too! I was telling my sister the other day about your charity for kids. Amazing!

What's the link? Can't seem to find it

Anybody know what the board pass rate was? Or where to find the info?

The school opened in 2011, so the first class just took theirs. Not sure if the data is out yet.

I asked this question during my interview. No stats for Carolinas yet but the Virginia campus has a pass rate in the high 90% (I think 96% but cannot remember exactly.)

Just submitted my secondary...wasn't thrilled with my secondary essays but they should be good enough. I entered my AACOMAS ID for the fee waiver voucher number, anyone know if this was correct?

Congratulations do those of you already accepted

Any current students following this thread, do any students live in the Converse Heights area? We have been looking online at houses and my wife loves the character of the houses and that area. Any advice?

I was given an interview invite over the phone around 4 o'clock today. Woohoo! I'm very excited. 🙂

I had two dates to choose from: October 3 and October 9. I'll be there on the 3rd.

I'll probably be messaging questions to some of you whom have already interviewed. So look out! :meanie:

in the secondary where it asks to put your physician's recommendation, do I put the college that the doc got his MD or finished his fellowship? Does the address have to match the college? Thx

I put where he graduated med school from. Therefore, just list the address of that school.

I guess I screwed that part of the application up, I thought it wanted to know where he currently worked.

i'm thinking that I will just list his med school college and put the address of where he is now b/c they also ask you to list phone # and email address which I feel needs to match the address more so than the college (correct me if i'm wrong).

i agree, this is quite confusing. i'm thinking it's not a big deal though b/c they are trying to match the main rec letters to your secondary.

Just Interviewed here today. Super relaxed!! like everyone always says just be yourself. No hard questions just the general ones. Know why you want to go here! We were told that we would find out the decision on October 18.

Oh duh, you are right! I checked what I put on the application. They do want where the physician currently works. Sorry!

This is what I did too. I don't think it really matters, or else they'd be more specific.

YEEEPPP, I doubt they waste the time checking addresses. That seems like an incredible waste of time considering the volume of applications they review.

Current student here. I personally do not live in Converse Heights but a few of my classmates do (as well as some second years). That's definitely a popular place for students to live, it's a cute area of town and pretty safe. I live on the west side of town (near the Target, if that means anything to you) in a neighborhood and I love it. It's extremely safe and quiet. It's also close to grocery stores, the mall, etc.

I searched for Converse Heights houses when I was moving here, but it's reallllly hard to find one because they're such a hot commodity. You're more likely to find a house for sale there then for rent. Really. I checked Craigslist/zillow/classifieds almost every day for 3 months and couldn't find a Converse Heights house for rent.

It's a bit early for that, though, but feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Anyone can feel free to message me about any questions they may have regarding the school! I'd love to answer them. 🙂

Hi guys! I'm a current first year here. Let me know if you have any questions - I'd be happy to help!

Is there a way how I can tell if I submitted the secondary or not? Did anyone get a confirmation email? My text and answers are still editable on the secondary :/

No worries. Until the Admissions Department verifies that your secondary is complete and that your letters match up with what you wrote on your secondary, they keep your application editable. I know this because I wrote down the wrong author for one letter, but they emailed me about the discrepancy and had me re-submit.

Once all that was cleared up, I was sent a complete email a week later. After that point, your secondary is no longer editable.

Furthermore, go here and login: https://vcomsis.vcom.edu/pages/login.php
User ID was my email and password is one that you had to create. In the top right-hand corner you'll see "Submission Date."

Anyone know if this school is receptive to "in the area" emails? I've been complete for a couple months and have an interview at a neighboring school in Dec. Thanks!

Just cancelled my interview date for 10/28/2013.

Best of luck to all of you! VCOM seems like a great school!

Would it be wrong for me to email the school and ask for that date!? Lol I've been complete for like a month and nothing

I received an interview invite for October 28 a few days ago. My flights gets into the greenville spartanburg airport at 2:18 PM on October 27. Anyone getting to the airport around the same time or living in the area mind giving me a ride for a little cash?

Just interviewed on 10/9 in which they told us we should find out on 10/18 or 10/20 whether we are accepted or not.

finishing up my secondary for VCOM, but finding that my answers, while honest, sound too typical. Gahh any ideas? Should I just submit it and be done with it or keep trying? These prompts were the most difficult of my secondaries 🙁

the quicker you get in your secondaries the better.

How was the interview? And do you interview with 2 faculty members at the same time or separately? And how were the student interviews? Sorry for all these questions! Just wanted to know the flow

Interviews were fine... Very laid back and conversational. Know why DO. That is the one question that was asked in each of my three interviews. After that was out of the way it was just a normal/natural conversation.

My interviews FLEW by. The two faculty interviews are separate and 30 min each. The student interview is in the afternoon and 30 minutes as well.

Just be yourself! Good luck!
