You will definitely get into OSU their GRE sums to 310 or average of 155 each, and 4.0 writing. Plus your GPA is near perfect, and they only require 40 shadowing hours, and you have 130 so why are you worried.I went to University of Akron my freshman year, only prerequisite I took was chemistry 1. The rest I took at OSU and am currently taking exercise science and currently have a A. I would love to go to OSU but worried about my GRE and shadowing hours. But I'll post my acceptances/rejections.
Also you mentioned your currently taking Exercise phsyio right now? I know OSU gives preference to those have already completed their pre reqs, and you already applied. Also Im about to take bio 2 any good professor you took? As well as physiology you mind sharing advice on how to get an A in physio, heard its difficult.I went to University of Akron my freshman year, only prerequisite I took was chemistry 1. I feel you but going out of state is expensive. Very expensive then you need a house and food, why would people do that to themselves.@OSUkid the main reason I did not apply to OSU was because I was missing too many pre-reqs. I was missing 3 pre-reqs at the time I submitted my application and they only allow you to be missing two. Also, I have this vision of hanging out on the beach, drinking a corona, and studying my PT notes 🙂 So Florida seemed like the perfect spot for me.

ITS NOT ALWAYS JUST ABOUT THE STATS, AS LONG AS YOU DEVOTE YOURSELF TO YOUR CAREER AND MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO BE APPEALING IN DIFFERENT AREAS YOU CAN STAND OUT!..GOOD LUCK!
really? for which one? oh man you just gave me hope. thank you!Don't fret! I didn't meet their minimum either and I have an interview on the 22nd. Hoping to blow them away with my "interview skills".... so who knows! Anything can happen.
Yea missing exercise physio is what I'm worried about. Also, I had professor named Robin Taylor for Biology II. Her tests were not extremely hard but she puts a lot of information on tests that are not in the book. They are either from her lecture PowerPoint, ones on test not posted on Carmen, and from what she says. This can make her tests hard. Regarding physiology, I just studied a lot. You get a different teacher for every subject so it is hard to predict the tests. Hope this helps. Also you mentioned your currently taking Exercise phsyio right now? I know OSU gives preference to those have already completed their pre reqs, and you already applied. Also Im about to take bio 2 any good professor you took? I did, I think they're a solid program and I like the inter-professional education aspect of the program. Have you visited the campus? That's the real downside for me... It's kind of in the middle of nowhere. What have you heard?hey guys out of curiousity did anyone apply to western university of the health sciences? i'm hearing a lot of mixed reviews. any help would be great 🙂 thanks!

Well, I've done some research online and apparently they don't have the best program. Previous students have said that you don't really learn anything, and the degree is essentially useless. I've also recently had a bad experience with the admissions people...I can't even get them on the phone to clarify some things on the application. I've never been to the campus because I live on the east coast. I was just applying there to cast a wide net.
Long time lurker here guys...
University: University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign

Pre-Req GPA: 4.0
GRE: V 161 Q 160 A 4.5

Volunteer: 1400 hrs outpatient ortho (paid), 30 hrs acute care, 20 hours rehab facility
Applied: Rosalind Franklin, Northwestern, NIU, UIC, US Army-Baylor, Midwestern - DG
Acceptances: Rosalind Franklin, Northwestern
Rejections: None.
Interviews: Rosalind Franklin, Midwestern (withdrew before interview)
Leaning Northwestern right now, especially after calculating what it costs after my GI Bill kicks in (not as much as the sticker price, thank goodness!) and after working with two NU grads for the past two years. I was super impressed with Rosalind, too, and I work with another recent graduate who has only good things to say about the program (plus, she's an awesome PT!). Baylor is going to be VERY tough to get into, so we'll cross that bridge if it ever shows up in front of me.
Best of luck to everyone! Especially you crusty old career changers out there!
Did you read this? http://www.studentsreview.com/CA/WUOHS_g.html
If so, I'd say that only one claimed to be DPT and these reviews seem to be extreme opinions. I've visited the campus and I've talked to their admissions director and students and they seem pretty solid and happy. It just seems smaller than other schools because WesternU is comprised of only health graduate programs. Like if you're trying to cast a wide net towards southern CA, then I think Western should def be on your list above Mt. St. Mary's, CSU northridge and maybe even chapman. But that's just my opinion. I live in SoCal and I've applied to the above schools among others, except northridge
You did outstanding on your GRE so I'm sure you will get accepted into at least one of your schools. If any of your schools DON'T do interviews then schedule a tour. You want to be more than just a name on an application to them🙂UPDATE:
