Wew. I asked my recruiter to confirm what your recruiter told you. He let me know that he will ask and let me know tomorrow. For our sakes I hope the information you were given isn't entirely accurate. Thanks for all the info though, I honestly wouldn't have taken the initiative to ask specifics in the first place, it definitely motivated me for answers.

Yeah let us know-it could be interesting

I am with ESPN907, I just commissioned last night and I have OPAT set up for March, 14th. I would reach out to your recruiter again because my appointment orders were there for a week before I commissioned.
Are you with Army?

Does anyone know the timeframe for being commissioned/ sworn in? I submitted my AYS and official transcripts 1 week ago. Just wondering if anyone else has received the final select letter?

My recruiter (Navy) just told me that my scroll was submitted for approval. This process can take several months, and from what I've seen on last years thread, it was around May when people got their final select letters. She also told me that you usually commission 30 days prior to starting school, so for me that will be in July.

Anyone know when the Navy February board results will be released? Any news from your recruiters on how many spots are left?

Any Army HPSP recipients still waiting for the official memo?

Has anybody been officially selected for the Navy yet, not just professionally recommended?

@hsher I've tried contacting my recruiter 3 times in the last two weeks with no response. He is notoriously bad with giving bad news and avoids telling me issues, so what you heard is probably correct, although I still can't officially confirm anything.

No not yet, but I talked to my recruiter yesterday and he said that my stuff got to Congress Feb21st and it can take about a month from then! Let me know if you hear differently!

Got a call from my recruiter regarding the Navy’s 2nd (Feb) board results. 19 candidates were selected as alternates (myself included), the rest rejected. So now I wait until May 15th to learn if I could be issued the HPSP if anyone from the Jan board declines theirs. My recruiter said he’s not able to see if there is any ranking system with the alternates, and whether the Mar board is placed after us or among us.

So everyone from February board is either rejected or an alternate? I thought there were some spots leftover still?

Also any particular reason you don't find out until May 15 about getting off the alternate list?

I don't think so. There were definitely some of us that were professionally recommended. As someone mentioned earlier, approximately 60 of us were professionally recommended- enough to fill up every spot for the scholarship.

I think they were referring to the January boards regarding the 60 spots Bering professionally recommended, no? Or are they recommending over the 60 with the February board results with the assumption people will turn it down?

Ah yes you're right. I was referring to January boards. I can't say for February boards, I'm sorry.

Ahh it’s okay! Just hope there are spots left for the 3 year, since that’s the one I’m gunning for even though my recruite submitted for both 4 year and 3 year HPSP.

Were we supposed to ask our recruiters to submit for the 3 year Navy HPSP too? Are we not going to be considered for the 3 year if they run out of spots for the 4 year ones?

I also thought there were some leftover, all 3-year HPSP spots. But my thoughts are, why hand those out if some of the 4-year spots may be let go by some selects from the 1st board? They have until April 15th to declare their acceptance of the Navy HPSP. So I'm thinking they will want to hand out the recycled 4-year spots first, then fill in the rest of the 3-year spots. This is all just my own speculation however, no facts are being stated here. So I also think the May 15th date has something to do with them sorting out what they have leftover and making decisions on who to award from the alternate list after April 14.

I was under the impression that the 3-year spots are awarded to the remainder who didn't get the 4-year spots. So we didn't have to apply for both, if you applied for the 4-year, you'll be considered for the 3-year if they run out.

That’s what I thought too. Thanks for clarifying!

Where did you learn that April 15th is the date to declare acceptance of the Navy HPSP? If this is true, then the assumption is that we will definitely hear from our recruiters about whether or not we received final selection before April 15th, right?

So some of the 1st board selects still haven’t heard verification that they got the 4-year? I don’t know if this Apr 15th deadline is for all selects to declare that they want it, or whether it’s only for those professionally recommended? The way my recruiter made it sound, it’s for all selects to confirm whether they intend to keep it or one from another branch other than Navy. It wouldn’t make sense though for anyone to have to do that without their professional recommendation.

My Navy recruiter updated that the March board met last week. The notice will be out within the next 10 days!

My Navy recruiter has not gotten back to me about the February Boards...on March 5th she told me she had not heard anything and would contact me when she had some news. I don't understand how she doesn't have any information yet.

I am also confused about that news for March boards being ready so quickly

Holy, the turnaround time for March boards was so quick compared to the two previous boards. But I guess that's nice given if we need to make a decision by April 15, it gives us some time to think it through and talk to family and such.

What I'm hearing is that scrolls don't come out until April. Does anyone know if being professionally recommended means you are for sure getting the scholarship? Would you have heard already if you were waitlisted or rejected?

I found someone who received the Navy 4 year HPSP two years ago. Here's what she had to say when I asked how long it took to receive her final select letter after being professionally recommended:

"Things take quite a while to be processed. I looked back in my email, and I got my final select letter at the end of July. I found out I got the scholarship around March. And then I was commissioned and signed the paperwork in October. And I didn't start getting stipend etc until about November. So the whole process was a long one. Your school will be patient about getting the tuition, as long as they know it will be paid in full by the Navy. Be prepared to pay your rent and other costs in the meantime, unfortunately. But dont sorry, there'll be back pay."

Has anyone here been moved off of the Army OML yet?

My school requires I have a physical done within a year of the first day of class. Does anyone know if the MEPS physical can be used?

I have a school specific form that I need filled out; could I send it to MEPS and have them basically just repeat their findings?

I doubt it. I applied for all 3 branches and my recruiters had a hard time getting my medical file from MEPS. They also wouldn't release it to me. It would probably be easier to get it done separately, but it's worth a shot.

Has anyone received any updates about the Final Select timeline for Navy?

My recruiter called yesterday and said my profile update, written by the program director of the Navy HPSP, was listed as "Class of 2023 4 year HPSP". He thinks that's basically confirmation that I've received the 4 year scholarship and says that there's an Admiral in Washington DC that signs everyone's appointments and that it will be in July, maybe before then, that we receive any paperwork.

My navy recruiter told me this month's board met on march 7. He then told me that results for that board would be out at the end of the first week of April. That seems kind of...long. Can anyone confirm this?

My Navy recruiter contacted me today and said that the February board results are official. I have been chosen as an alternate. She then told me that we will have to see if anyone declines their spot. She said we should know around the end of May or early June. Fingers crossed!

I just skipped around this form, so I am sorry if I missed this somewhere... was anyone prior military?

I’m not sure if this has already been addressed, but does anyone know when we are required to attend COT? I’ve heard so many different answers and am very confused at this point. Thanks!

From my knowledge, 4 year recipients go summer before dental school. 3 and 2 year recipients go after dental school is complete.

Anyone hear any Navy updates regarding March boards yet?
