Hunger Games Redux WW sign ups

The tributes decide to work together initially and when WTF announces that allie must be out to kill them all.

allie is quickly backed into the water. the tributes surround her, poking at her with sticks, spears, tridents...finally a tribute holds her under the water until her struggles cease. As quickly as they gathered, the tributes disperse, once again fearing each other.

Dead is Allie the blood-rain/fog and a WOLF.

Night deadline is 8 am. If I get everything in quickly and there's enough time, we may have another day cycle today. But I prefer nights to be at night.

Ah, for some reason my SDN phone notifications for the last two days all showed up just now, sorry I missed the first day! Way to go everyone on such an early wolf lynch 🙂
 
Well that's ****ing great. Plus now we have a good idea of who the wolves actually are. Plus I think it's consistent with the whole hunger games mythos - as in the evil is in the games themselves

Eh. That wasn't wolf "detector-ness"..... that was info that came from somewhere. If she were a wolf, she wouldn't have much choice but to post it or else the person that gave it to her would obviously be suspicious. So it doesn't really validate WTF's 'villager' status in any particular way.

Nope. No knowledge. Guessing wildly and a history of live action WW/mafia games where roleplaying was an essential part of the game.
Also, I married a guy who developed a line of role playing game manuals for White Wolf, and just released his independent offering last month. So, role playing is kinda second nature in games. It adds a meta level that I really enjoy.

If you are implying that I know squat about wolves because I am one, that isn't so. I know that everyone is going to say that, but there it is.

I'm at work now. That is terribly limiting. But I will hustle with my chores, and if I get everything done in good order, I should be able to participate a bit more. Will get a vote in prior to end of day.

So, this is how I thought about it....

Eventually, the game comes down to career or be killed. Anyone who trains for it, enters it willingly, that is someone who is ultimately planning to kill others from the start. Even if their strategy involved cooperation early on, in order to win, they are going to have to murder someone... in the canonical Hunger Games, that is. Tributes who were unlucky enough to be culled, who aren't careers, would seem to me to be more likely to be innocents. They just got pulled into this bloody game.

We have no reason to believe that our game makers have taken the metaphor that far or that they have matched characters to alignments at all, let alone in a way that is easy to discern. But if I were making it up, that is how I would do it.

Tp. It's like you don't know Team Mad Zoo at all. We did the exact same thing in dy's anesthesia game. And in most games where we can chat we share something about our roles pretty early. It works except when it doesn't, and then one of us screws the other over. But this time feels more like the anesthesia game. Where it worked really well.

You can bet I wouldn't be vouching for him nor letting him do so for me this early in the game if we were both wolves.

The answer is to look elsewhere. I know for a fact I'm a villager and with the role info he gave me I'm as sure as I can be that MJ is one too. If you reveal early enough it's tough to fake a good villager role description.

I had no idea the this girl is my hollywood double.
 
The tributes are not surprised when they hear another cannon that morning. They are saddened to see such a well regarded tribute pass so easily. Blinded by blood rain, @shortnsweet tripped and broke her neck. SnS, Finnick Odair, the tribute that could kill other tributes, is dead. Some tributes thought they heard other sounds of a fight, but nothing else has come to light with the morning.

It wasn't the *roleplaying* that caught my eye - that's fine. It was the leap to assuming that career tributes would be wolves. I'm no Hunger Games expert (I did read the books, but...... kinda quickly and wasn't impressed), but there are <plenty> of potential wolves other than career tributes. That made me wonder if you were trying to steer people into lynching career wolves once we knew who any of them were. That said, I see what you're saying... I'm satisfied. Thx.

That is just a reason for a new game to start up promptly when this one is done.

I received some intel last night. There are 3 wolves among us.

SnS was a vigilante, I guess? Very sorry to lose another innocent.

I think the wolves made a run at me. That scuffle that was mentioned above, and my protective item was hot when I touched it this morning. Glad to have it.

If the wolves attacked you, who killed SnS? Bloodrain doesn't sound like a villager kill to me.

I suppose there could have been two wolf attacks last night. On the other hand, maybe you fought a villager.

The write up says the bloodrain (effectively) killed sns. So either there was an oversight in the write up and another wolf killed her, allie had an "on death" power, or she can kill from beyond the grave. Given that, story wise, we are all trying to kill each other, I'm betting it was villager on villager action.
