Are these the early Jan interviews or both sets of Jan interviews? I'm so nervous as I haven't yet heard back!!!!!
 
Not that I have any factual evidence for this, but I am sure they will have more than just two days of interviews in January. Don't give up yet!

They actually have 4 dates listed in January and then another 2 days in Feb. This is all on their website. 👍

Just spoke to a friend that spoke to a friend that spoke to admissions.. (haha) and here's the deal..... Other than hearing back about an interview date, no news is good news. That means your app is still "under review". Otherwise, you would have gotten an email notifying you of application deficiencies.

Congrats to the three of you with invites!

Nothing here yet either, but now I'm checking e-mail even more obsessively than I have been in the last few days. Even checked my status page but no changes there either.

I hope there's another big batch going out soon that includes the rest of us. 😀 In the meantime, I really must study for my pharmacology final!
 
Congrats! 😀. This thread has officially given me an ulcer...to say that I am checking my email compulsively is an understatement. Hopefully we all get something soon. Before Christmas would be excellent

well mine and the other 3 peoples seem to be Jan 8/9th set but there are 2 more sets left 🙂
 
ok so for those of you who have gotten invites to interview.. how did you respond via email or fax? they never specified.. strange
 
I copied and pasted that little form at the bottom and emailed it to them. Between ISU and KSU I am going to be running around the midwest all weekend.

ok sweet i did the same thing.. have to get an interview on friday morning though or i cant make it to missouri on saturday, what a crazy weekend!
 
I just received confirmation from Brenda. If you are looking for a specific day/time email her!! I did (I am trying to make my hockey game on friday night (huge game against the #2 team in the country) and then get go Kansas on Sunday and she promptly emailed me back. January 9th at 2PM!!!
 
Also, how are people getting to Ames??? Is flying into Des Moines the best way?

Yep, it's only about ~45 mins away and a pretty small airport so it's easy to get around.

I just called them and asked - they said to just e-mail it back to them 🙂

welp, guess i was wrong about not until Friday! *has already inserted foot in mouth* sorry guys! nothing yet here except a million anxiety attacks whenever my phone has an alert haha

I just got it this morning!! 🙂 I've been so paranoid that my quiet little email alert woke me up at 7:30AM lol sooooooo excited 🙂 I'm sure there's plenty more invites to be sent so try not to worry too much! (i know, that's easy for me to say now...) Thanks for the congrats!

Morganator (or other early Iowa interview-ees), any words of advice? Did you find the (closed-file) behavior-based interview exceptionally stressful? Were you asked any questions about your prep/experiences directly (or were your questions all of the dreaded "behavioral" variety)? Do you plan to fill out an "interview feedback" report on SDN?

[I'm an OOS-er, so we aren't competing for the same seats...]
 
Has anyone received a flat-out rejection from Iowa?

No e-mail for an interview, but no e-mail saying I'm *not* getting an interview. Guess I'll just wait more? 🙁

I didn't feel like the interview was that stressful - although I've been through many tough behavioral-style interviews in the past. Just look over the questions that are listed in the interview feedback and you'll be fine. The most intimidating part may be that there are 3 interviewers and just you.

As far as questions, talking to others I think each interview is different depending on who the interviewers are, and how you answer questions. Some may talk about prep experiences and some may simply answer question after question. Mine was a mix of both. Either way, don't freak out too much about it - the people at IA State are awesome and the day isn't meant to be that stressful. Also, I guess I might fill out some feedback, but my questions weren't all that different than the others already posted there. Good luck all. I'm a lot more anxious now that the interview is over knowing I have to wait months to find out if I get in or not!

no and it still hasn't changed though apparently it will when they assign an interview time? hasn't happened yet though..
 
Hey Guys!

Congrats to all of you who have gotten interviews so far! If you haven't heard, don't swear it...there are three "rounds" of interviews remaining.

As the interview invites keep getting sent out, feel free to PM me with any questions you might have. You can ask about the process, the behavioral interviews, the school, the city of Ames, etc....anything is fair game. I have a decent idea about life here in Iowa.

Best of luck to everyone! Hope to see you around the school during interviews!!
 
Snork! Looks like I just missed out on the third round of interview invites. Sigh🙁 This process is not so much fun.

Third round? I thought they had only done one round........and it appears second round is going out today.

Nope 2nd round (for interviews 1/8-1/9) went out 12/17

Interviews that came out today are for 1/22-1/23 so that makes it an official 3rd round
 
Got my interview invite today for the 1/23/-1/24 dates!!!
 
I got mine at 11:19 Eastern Time today.

I'm feeling stupid here -- we just reply to that email, right?
 
Totally random question here but have any MN residents gotten an interview invite yet?

I am holding out a small amount of hope that they are inviting by region/state.

Silly I know but this process is kind of a beat down.
 
I like your thinking, HandD42. I'm in MN too and still have not heard anything. And I thought my app was pretty strong... :scared:

Congratulations to those of you with invites! :clap: Iowa seems like a fantastic school with super friendly people. If only they would show me some love...

I heart Iowa too, it may even be my #1 for me above my state school, that is why the no news has been so hard.
 
Got an interview invite today for Jan 8th weekend. They have a weird RSVP method lol.
 
well darn, i was so pumped when i saw that people had received invites today and then really bummed when i saw that i don't have one. oh well, congrats to those who got one and good luck to the rest who are in the same boat as me.
 
Sweet jesus I just gave myself a heart attack. You have to reply to the e-mail with their self-made RSVP form and I did that, but I've been forwarding all my interview invites to my sister with little comments on them. I put down "Lord I was born a rambling man...but then became broke to going everywhere I can....think that's the way the song goes anyways" but had accidentally hit Reply instead of forward and went to click send since I thought it was going to my sister. By the sheerest stroke of luck I missed clicking the send button by about a pixel or so and was able to change the recipient from the lady who sent the (now edited) invite to its proper receiver, my sister.

Yeah, that is rough. I would love to go to Iowa, but Minnesota and Wisconsin are also very high on my list. But not getting an invite (yet?) from Iowa makes me even more worried about MN and WI. :xf:

UH Iowa is KILLING ME! I wish they would just send them out all at once. Do you guys think they will send any out tomorrow??? or should i just try and forget about vet school until after christmas haha
 
so, do you know that dreadful feeling that you get when you realize that you forgot your wallet or can't find your keys? That's the same sort of feeling that I have right now because I still have yet to receive an interview invite 🙁. It's not going to be a great holiday going into it without an interview and a rejection from Illinois.

If it makes anyone feel any better, I went through Christmas break last year with a rejection and a bad interview experience... and no more interview invites. I ended up being accepted to 2 schools and waitlisted at 2 more.

Hang in there! There's still a lot of time left.
 
I wonder if maybe they are sending out invites by state/region. I know 2 people from the same state who got invites within minutes of each other.

So, any NY residents have interviews yet?
