Iowa State, where are you?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Waitlisted! But that's not too bad because they go through so many!

I have been accepted as well! So exciting! This was my top choice school- hopefully I will be seeing a lot of you in the fall!
Congrats to all that were accepted, and to those waitlisted, your chances of acceptance are still quite high! Hang in there!

ISU class of 2014 baby!!

Wow. Just got my personal call from the dean. Iowa State seriously impresses me for all of these kind, personal touches.

Must have called you and me in order lol

Nice guy!

Anyone know how many are typically on the waitlist?

Amen! I interviewed at another school after ISU, and was disappointed because I guess I expected the same experience... I constantly found myself thinking, "Really?!? Because at ISU..." (blah, blah, blah).🙂

Congrats!!!! everyone. I will admit it is disappointing to not know yet due to my interview meltdown. But maybe there is still some room for invites/wait lists after this weekend.

I am so happy for you P!!!!!!!!!!!👍

I believe in past year's it has been 100 applicants, including IS and OOS.

No, it is just OOS. Generally they don't move down the IS alternate list at all. OOS is a different story.

I'm probably just going to miss you in Ames...I get there on Sunday night.

GOOD LUCK!!! :luck:

Hey Congrats! Way to represent Concordia! haha I got in to Iowa too! Now I just have to pick between ISU and KSU. I think two cobbers accepted to vet school in one year hasn't happened for awhile. I guess HPAC probably helped a lot.

Just found this forum. I'm waitlisted for ISU. 🙁 I have a gazillion questions. When will we find out our list position? Suggestions for what if anything you can do to help yourself between now and April 15th?

Ahhhh!!!!! I'm going to be a vet!!!!! Just got the acceptance email. My hands are shaking :soexcited:

Just got the call from the Dean...he is so nice😀

There is actually another student from Concordia who was accepted this year (to Iowa) too! Three of us, HPAC has definitely been helpful! Congrats to you as well (Dr. Flaspohler was telling me how excited he was that you got in!). Good luck in making your decision, I am interested to hear where we all end up 🙂

Congratulations HandD!!!

I have to say, I was much more impressed with ISU and Ames than I thought that I was going to be. Obviously still waiting to see where the chips fall, but I don't think I'd be all that upset if I ended up starting there in the Ph.D. in Genetics in the Fall.

It is a pretty impressive facility and the cost of living is down right awesome in Ames. Unfortunately the OOS tuition $$$ is pretty daunting for the DVM program but for a PhD there wouldn't be that issue👍
