Hello,

I am a sophomore pre-medical student and I was wondering whether if would be unrealistic for me to continue on this pre-med track.

Freshman year, due to a general state of depression and indecisiveness regarding my career choice wrecked havoc on my grades, especially during the second semester.

My first semester grades were fine, as I got a
B in Biology I,
a B in Chemistry I,
a B+ in East Asian Political Economy
and an A- in Biological Anthropology,

My second semester grades were a disaster.
I got a C+ in both Biology II and Chemistry II,
and a C in Biology I lab.
I then got a D in Indo-European Folktales,
and I withdrew from my Introduction to Film class.
I got a A in Western Civilization I, which saved my GPA from tanking further.

For my Freshman year, I got a 2.769.

For the upcoming fall semester of my sophomore year, I am planning to take Organic Chemistry I, Physics I, Introduction to Music, and Intro to Portuguese Culture (gen ed)

Should I continue with a pre-medical track? I am wondering if putting more effort in will be futile.

Thank you very much.

In the words of John Wooden,

If you really want something, you’ll find way. If not, you’ll find an excuse.

Use your long term goals as motivation to succeed in more near term endeavors

You can use this website to see exactly what you have to make in future courses to get back on track GPA-wise. It will take some hard work but it's doable I think. Good luck!
