I wonder if we met in passing without knowing it. They were the only school I interviewed at that didn't at least waitlist me :laugh:. They hated my pink comment.

That would be weird!! Maybe you were the girl that I was making fun of for wearing two-tone shoes. Not because she didn't look nice, but because she showed up in a black suit and a blue shirt like I did and I was already nervous :laugh:

I loved K-state's supplemental. Though I think I ended filling it out like 4 times because I didn't read how they wanted the last 45 calculated (which is weird, make sure you read the instructions). And then lost it. And then screwed up again. And then lost it again.

We have TONS of red squirrels... IN OUR HOUSE 😡.
If you like them so much, come get them out so I can sleep at night. Stupid thing came out of the closet the other day and freaked me the hell out! They peak their heads out and I want to play that bop-a-mole game with them :bang:

I hep you I hep you!! I just want to squeeze those critter until they die because they are so friggin cute. (I have heard they are quite the nuisance. I refuse to believe that lol)
 
First time applicant to KState under the advice of my boss. I am not thrilled about the thougth of Kansas but I am excited about the program. So whoo hoo!

This is yet another school that I am considering. At first I was a bit apprehensive about applying after imagining myself in, well, Kansas... But this spring I met a couple of students that are undergrads at K-State and they had a lot of great things to say about the school. They aren't even pre-vet or science majors but they told me that the vet school's phenomenal and that I should apply! 🙂

I have family who live about 45 minutes outside Manhattan, and I really don't think it's that bad.
 
Good luck to everyone applying this year. K-state is an awesome school and has been a lot of fun so far. I'm from northern California originally but I love it out here. But it fits my personality a little better. If you guys have any questions about the school or the process just ask any of us on here. Good luck to everyone and EMAW! GO WILDCATS!!!

I have never even been so I am being a bit judgy for no reason (whoops)...I just grew up in a fairly large city in NC and then moved to Baltimore (which I LOVE)...but I know deep down going to school is what is most important, no matter where it is. It is also far away from my family (that is in NC) but I can manage if I have too. We shall see! I have heard nothing but great things about the program!

I'm being judgy about other states I haven't been to (hello, Mississippi!), so I understand. Kansas is definitely not NC or Baltimore (where I also lived, and I loved it, too), but it's not as bad as you probably imagine it to be. And the school is really cool. 🙂

Manhattan to me has more of a college town feel, which I personally like over a big city like Chicago or Philly. Its in a really nice area and a current second year who is a good friend of mine absolutely loves it down there.

They are DEFINITELY into their team. Purple everywhere lol. But is rather quaint, the people are incredibly nice and they actually have a walmart hahahaha
 
Can't send in my supplemental till I receive my new GRE scores. Poor supplemental is just sitting in an envelope.

Uh huh. I worked on Mizzou and CSU's at the same time (productive procrastination for studying), and I'm happy they're done. My VMCAS PS, though... I think I have the case I'm going to use to tie everything together, but I have made very little progress in actually writing the thing. It's painful.

Believe me, we've all felt it. 😉 Personally, when it came time for me to write my PS, I literally closed my eyes, put on some classical music and just started typing on my computer. I practically wrote it like I was talking to my best friend. The end result wasn't the prettiest (worst rough draft I've ever written 🙄) but it gave me something to work with. Not sure if that helps at all, but it might give you some thoughts/motivation 😀

Writing to a friend is a wonderful approach!

I woke up one morning with this particular case in my head, so I rushed to write all about this shih tzu and her problems. Now I have a page of case history and need to cut it and write about myself (boo).
 
Just freely write and go back and revise and revise and revise. I can tell you that one of my drafts everyone of my friends said my opening anecdote sounded like a soft core porno (it was a dystocia case), but with some less graphic descriptions someone was crazy enough to still let me in... 😛
 
I swear my GRE scores better be in the mail when I get home. I just need to photocopy them.

I don't get this requirement. KSU already has my official score report. They also need a copy...why? (just venting, don't expect you to have an answer)

Now, if only my grade could be posted so I could order a transcript...

I never understood it either since a photocopy is not an official report. My best guess was that they used it to blindly (you can white out names...) put ppl in order based on GRE scores? Whatever...they needed it so I gave it to 'em.

I know this is super late, but I am glad Kansas asks for the photocopies. The ETS rewrote all GRE percentages to match the new test, even though it makes no sense. So even though my percentages were actually higher, they report them lower because it then matches the new test. So though weird, I think Kansas is awesome because then I made a photocopy of my old reports with the previous percentages.

Sorry, I know I'm in crazy-application-mode, but:

I could not find any special instructions about this! The supplemental says "List GPA of the last 45 semester hours of undergraduate work:", so I just assumed I'd go back 45 semester credits and calculate it from that entire semester until today. I can't find anything else about how to calculate it, and I just want to make sure I'm doing it right.
 
For K-State, if your 45 credits doesn't fit into semesters neatly, you can use your best grades from that semester to make up the remaining credits. For example if I'm using my last 3 semesters, each with 18 credits, I can use the latest two for the last 36 and then use the best 9 credits of my third semester into the average. At least that's what I was told last year and I was accepted. 🙂
 
I know this is a dumb question, BUT when we send a photocopy of our GRE scores, are we able to print them offline after we take the test-or- does the school require a copy of the offical test score? I'm taking my test soon, and I'm not sure of when I'll receive my official score!

I think they want a photocopy of your official scores. Scores tend to arrive 10 to 15 days after you take the test.
 
This is basically a rhetorical question, but - why do they want us to have our transcripts mailed to ourselves, and then stick them in a giant envelope to mail off to the school? I'm assuming it's because it makes it easier for them because then they have all the paperwork for each student in one packet...but I ordered a transcript from Purdue (for Animal Nutrition course) and now I'm worried that I might be sending off a random piece of mail from them because their envelope didn't say anything like, "official transcript enclosed. Do not open." Bah!

I'm worried that instead of my transcript, I've sent a letter saying I owe money or something. haha. All we can do is hope for the best! But really, I think they just want the transcripts sent from us because they're lazy and don't want to have to sort everything out in the admissions office. At least if we mess up when we send it, its our faults and not theirs.

I'm still peeved that I had to resend my GRE scores even though they haven't changed since last admission cycle.

I actually sent my transcripts directly to them and they were fine with it, but I think it's a mix of them not wanting to sort through things, and a way for you to be assured all of your stuff is together and doesn't get mixed up. :shrug:
