Interviewing tomorrow morning! After Purdue’s interview, I’m excited to be talking face to face with people. How long did the interview take? Did they ask questions about details in your application?

It was 25 minutes with about 20 minutes of answering their questions and 5 minutes of them answering yours. However, I think it depends on how the interviewers feel because they gave me like 10 minutes to ask questions and chat 🙂 I know they have your file in front of them b/c one of my interviewers said he could see my grades but they never asked about anything on my file.

Had my interview! I definitely rambled but I think overall it went better than my interview with purdue. Does anyone know if they will be calling or emailing? The ambassador said we should know within 10 days, but she got hers 4 days after her interview last year

That’s weird! I was told 6 weeks at the max but generally 2-3 weeks. I hope it’s sooner!

Did they ask you about anything from your application?

They mentioned they had my application in front of them but they didn’t ask anything specific- it was more like “in these experiences you have listed , where do you think you learned the most” etc

Did they ask you any “off the wall” questions to try to shake you?

Just finished my interview. It wasn’t too terrible. I did stutter during a few questions, so that’s not great but I did my best. The ambassador said it could be 2-6 weeks until we hear back.

That’s weird our ambassador said such different things, I hope it’s on the sooner side rather than later

Oh what did yours say? Because I mean 2-6 weeks is kind of a big window, so she may have just been guessing. I’m hoping it’s more like 2 weeks.

She said within 10 days but maybe she was just speaking from her own experience

My ambassador said that she heard about a month later, but that because of COVID and the increase of applications, it's possible that it could be more for us. But she was speculating she wasn't 100% certain

I haven’t looked back and done it yet, but you could try checking out previous years’ KSU threads to see when decisions were released. I asked friends when they got their decisions last year, and they said late January/early February as well! Only a few more weeks of waiting!!

Last year we got decisions three weeks after. I think the last interviews were the weekend of the 11th and we got decisions on the 31st. The year before that I believe they got them the Monday after the last interview weekend.

So it sounds like it could be anytime from now to February 😥 I’ll just be spending the month panicking every time I get an email

Same * me constantly refreshing my email and SDN and the APVMA Facebook page*

I know how hard the waiting is. I remember this time last year I was out of mind waiting for decisions to come out. I'm sending you guys positive thoughts! ❤️

Anybody else have a heart attack when they got the email about a post-interview survey 😥 also guess it’s confirmed 6 weeks.. that feels so long
Yes I thought I was going to pass out when I saw the email. Also, what makes you say that it’s confirmed to be 6 weeks until we hear back?

Well within 6 weeks is what I meant, because that’s what they said in the email- I was under the assumption that we would hear a lot sooner but now I’m not going to expect anything for a few more weeks

Oh yes I see that now in the email. I was still partially blacked out from the mini panic attack when I read it. Okay well I was told 10 weeks, so I guess 6 weeks is better.

I think the confusion is that the ambassadors weren't given a timeframe except maybe within 6 weeks. We were guessing from the past. A lot of times within 6 weeks could be 6 days or 6 weeks. Start of semester was delayed and we don't start until Monday where normally we would have already started and everyone would have time to focus on finishing up the acceptances. Now they are doing that and getting ready for classes to start with all the COVID protocols, determining the size of the class they want for next year, etc. I'm not sure they are sure how their workload is going to fall during this and didn't want to give you too early a date they couldn't meet. They want to get them done as soon as possible too! They don't like people waiting too long and will get it done as fast as they can. I know it is hard to wait. Hang in there and good luck.

Thank you so much for the insight! 🙂

I thought decisions were not until roughly 6 weeks after the interview date?
Does anyone know if they make calls or just send out emails with final decisions?
I’ve just been assuming at any point within 6 weeks, and I believe someone said email earlier in the thread

It has varied over the last few years, one year it was 2 weeks after the last round of interviews, and one year it was only 4-5 days. I think they gave a longer timeline this year because of reasons mentioned above. Also, from my previous experience with the application process they just e-mail!

Fortunately, I was accepted to my IS school, so Kansas is no longer a financially viable option for me being OOS, I am here for my masters now and absolutely love the facilities, I will miss it here, hence why I am sill lurking the thread 🤣

Did you interview with Kansas?

Congratulations on being accepted at your IS school!!

Hello all! I am in KSU's C/O 2024. I just wanted to pop on here real quick and say good luck to all that interviewed and hope you receive good news soon! I remember stalking this forum 24/7 a year ago when I was in your shoes and how anxious I was as well. Just keep breathing and stay calm 🙂
