Hey guys! I am trying to decide between KCU-Kansas City campus vs PCOM-GA. Any insight for both schools would be helpful.

KCU-COM

Pros:
Better residency match rates and better rotation sites from what ive heard??
P/F grading
1 of the 5 original DO schools so reputable?
Normal semester instead of trimester
More established school

Cons:
Super far from home and flight tickets expensive so difficult to come back
July start date

PCOM-GA
Pros:
Very close to my home (like ~25 mins from all family and friends)
Also 1 of the 5 original, but not Philadelphia campus and I heard that makes a difference?
August start date

Cons:
Numerical grading
Trimester calendar
Not main campus
Less established school
No joint hospital for rotations

Basically it is coming down to: is KCU-COM really worth uprooting my life and moving away from family and friends or will I get just as good an education at PCOM-GA? I dont know what specialty I want to go to yet but I know I want to specialize and it could be a competitive speciality. Im just having a really hard time deciding if KCU is worth it. My heart was set on PCOM-GA, and a couple days ago I got into KCU and now I'm torn.

Btw, tuition is about the same at both.

youre in a big city- more opportunities for research etc
KCU reputation very well in the midwest/match list is pretty amazing
kcu is pass fail- alleviates a ton of stress
i would choose kcu 100 times over again if i could

Quick question, Where are you from?

PCOM. Living close to your family is absolutely amazing. You can practice anywhere and you have the rest of your life to be independent, so if you have all the support and help with finances, being close to home is a great great idea. Heard from the GA student that a huge factor in attending the med school was being close to home.
