I was waitlisted as well. Quite bummed out. 😕 My letter said the approved class size for 2008 has been achieved. Why are they still interviewing??
I'm can't wait for PBL actually. I feel like I always learned the most while in groups, I enjoy bouncing ideas off of other people, and I think learning how to work together in a group (or a practice 🙂) to solve a problem is a great skill to always be working on.
Obviously all of the pathways have worked well and produced excellent physicians, so this is definitely more of a "I'm excited for PBL" post rather than a "the other pathways aren't for me" post.
That being said, I'm looking forward to the day Erie gets hit with 3 feet of snow and I can kick back with my books and a cup of coffee in my den while those LDPers start up the snowmobile 🙂

I had a friend who three years ago was wait listed and is now completing their third year. So all you wait listed peeps keep your chin up and be on the lookout for a letter taking you off the wait list and into a seat.Wait-listed at LECOM-Erie. 🙁
Kinda bummed out b/c it was my top choice.
Say a prayer for me!!!!
I just received a letter saying that they put me on the Wait List because the class is filled already. Good luck to everyone. *feeling indifferent*
that sucks! i wish i had been prepared to hear this before i flew into erie this morning! i still would have come because i'm really really interested in the school, but wow.
i even got barfed on on the plane here 🙁 bad day... 👎
So I got to the airport this afternoon to find out my flight was delayed for service which would make me miss my connecting flight in Philly. There was not a later flight to Houston tonight, so I'm in Erie for another night. I have no car though, so I'm stuck in my hotel room. 🙁
I want to order chinese food but it says minimum $15 for delivery. I'm a little thing and can't eat $15 worth of food haha. I can never finish my one meal of chinese food because they always give you so much.
Thanks for the offer, but I don't have anything to wear. I can come in my suit from today or in grey sweats. I didn't bring anything else bc I wasn't planning on spending the night again haha.
Hi all,
Yes they have added interviews through April because I just found out that I have one on April 18th! Woo-hoo . . . anyone know if someone interviewing this late still has a chance (I applied late there, long story)?

The class size from previous years was 270; I don't know if it has been increased as the rumors go.
So, did a lot of people drop out from the C/O 2011?

So Lisa, do you know what may have been the reasons the people left? With a class that big, have you got a chance to talk to each person in the class at least once?
Someone remarked to me that the LECOM facility and the appearance of there old High School. Once I thought about it, yes it really does remind me of my High School. But people have to realize, colleges tend to have a smaller campus especially if the college in specific to one field like Osteopathic medicine or Pharmacy.
I believe LECOM to have it all, appropriate facility, links to hospitals and an extremely reasonalbe tutition rate. I am favor of the dress code as well. I believe that social preparation is as necessary as the education.
As I was leaving Erie to Cleveland, I took a ride through Presque Isle State Park. It was marvelous! I mean, even in the winter with color lacking and the trees barren, I could imagine the seasons. The stretch is long and would make more an incredible bike ride. I did see a amusement park at the western edge though. I wonder what that is like.
At the interview, the panel emphasized a close knit community and a place to get to know the public. I am very much in favor this because I feel like I have been moving so frequently due to school. I want to set up shop and start to build upon the community. Erie seems likes like a good place to do it. A reasonably large population with outlets to major cities (Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and even Philadelphia, New York City). Plus you are near the waterfront.
Any thoughts? What about those students that have lived there for a while, is there a community feeling? Or are you too busy studying to take it in?
