LMU c/o 2022 applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So were there no acceptances or denies today? Just waitlist responses?

I was waitlisted and I know someone else that did too. How many people do we think are on the waitlist?

I think the important thing to remember here is one thing:

darn....applied to 8 schools and got 7 wait listed.....what a great accomplishment! keep on chewing gum and praying!

Hopeful c/o 2023 lurker here..... just wanted to say I'm proud of you all for making it this far, whether you got waitlisted, rejected, accepted. You made it through hard classes, got an interview (!!), and stayed *mostly* sane through this waiting game. Please keep us updated on those of you who get pulled off the waitlist. It makes me happy to see your progress and gives me the courage to keep fighting this fight too. Relax this weekend knowing you at least have the knowledge necessary to move forward. <3 hugs to all of you!

Well... waitlisted guys and ridiculously happy about it. I was rejected everywhere else (between waitlists and what not) so i'm strongly hoping I get an offer! Congrats to all who were waitlisted, it could have been worse guys. We're still in the game. To the ones rejected, don't give up. Find a way to get there!!!🙂

Well fellas, I am wait listed for LMU and an alternate for Western U. Heres to hoping for an acceptance email. Not only for me, but for you guys too! Maybe we will all be accepted to LMU and we can hopefully laugh about this crazy process when we are crying before the exams lol

I kinda feel like they waitlisted almost everyone and still haven't made acceptance decisions...

I'm going to put on my tinfoil hat and say that it's either 2 things:

1. They gave everyone a waitlist (or denial) to buy more time and then have the real acceptances come out next week

OR

2. The people who got accepted don't use this forum and therefore cannot tell us their results.

Seeing how this is all going down, I feel like there are hundreds of people on the waitlist because if you think about how many people were interviewing, there was at least 150+ people there (enough to fill the whole auditorium where they gave the lecture). And there was about 10 interview dates? That's a lot of people... There was just such a huge pool that maybe those that got accepted aren't here to tell us and we are just a small sample size that is part of the waitlist population.

At this point, I'm expecting to be at least 3rd or 4th string pick, maybe even 5th haha

Someone on Facebook just told me that 1/3-1/2 of her class (idk which year) was called the week before classses. There’s still hope (even if I’m somewhat depressed sitting on 3 waitlists ).

I would characterize this as a gross over exaggeration. It’s possible at the most that maybe 1-5 people were called off the waitlist one week before class. At that point the only way a seat is going to open is if someone gets called of the waitlist at their instate school.

I think Page may be correct. At least that was my interpretation based on the earlier post from Tony, Director, VMCAS (VMCASSTAFF) saying he was informed that...
"all notifications have been sent out to denied and waitlisted students" from LMU"
I might be reading into it too much but when I read his post I wasn't sure why he singled out that notifications were sent to denied and waitlisted students instead of just saying notifications were sent out to everyone or just sent out.

I was accepted a couple months ago and recently got an email reminding me about accepted students day in April. The person who sent the email forgot to hide the recipients, so I could see all of the emails of the people receiving that email. I counted the emails and there were 130. Unless, they sent out multiple emails about this, they’ve only sent out 130 acceptances so far. With a class size of 120 (I think? Correct me if I’m wrong), I would think they would send out more than 130 acceptances before the deadline. Do with that information what you will. This is all speculation, but maybe there’s still hope?

Congrats! It’s going to be beautiful there! If I wasn’t older with kids/grandkid I would’ve done this! One of my fav vets went there and she is AMAZING!

Thank you for your kind words! I'm excited! I'm looking at it as an adventure for sure. I just have a significant other and 2 big dogs to move down. But it will all work out the way it needs to!
Good luck to you!

I think they didn't send out a whole lot more acceptances that what they planned because if you send out 200 acceptances for a class of 120 and and only 20 people decide not to attend LMU, then they have 180 students to deal with instead to 130. Also they might not have included master's students on that list because they've lived here for a year and pretty much know a lot about the place and the school already so idk how benificial it would be for them to attend this event.

Maybe the 150 acceptance number they gave at my Q&A session is spot on (I mean, I don’t know why it wouldn’t be?). 130 emails to the new students and 20 or so MS students that weren’t on the email. In any event, there should be spots that open on the 17th after the deadline for payment comes. Only 10 more days!

So did anyone from January interviews or later get accepted?? For some reason it seems as if they sent out all their acceptances before interviews were even over. Someone please share if they have or know someone who has been accepted January or later. I interviewed January 22nd.

So I got this email too and could see all the other recipients but at a previous job I often had to send out bulk reminders and emails like this and I could only send them to about 100-110 people in the "TO:" section at a time or else gmail would crash. They may have sent others out in a different batch, as well. Just a thought!

Jan 8 interview, waitlisted. In at SGU though so pressure is off

I interviewed on January 22 and received a waitlist notification. I will be removing myself as I have accepted an offer from Tennessee. I truly feel for everyone else waitlisted, denied, or still waiting for an answer. It saddens me that a program with such great potential that I truly loved while visiting seems to lack regard for all of you incredibly determined and qualified applicants! Remember that nearly every great world changer achieved success later in life after countless closed doors. They went against the grain and believed in their passions over everything. Stay positive! I’m thinking about all of you!

Interviewed January 8 & waitlisted. I’m curious to see what happens after the 15th deadline. Fingers crossed for us.

I'm also from the Jan 22nd batch and I haven't heard of anyone that was accepted. I was waitlisted. I'm guessing the accepted students do not have an SDN account?

Interviewed January 22 and was waitlisted as well.

Something just doesn't seem right to me. I think they have to have acceptances to send out and are just buying time. Either that or they filled up their class early on before interviews were over, but I'm very doubtful of that. Definitely open to others' thoughts and opinions!

My interview was Jan 8th and I was waitlisted too. If there were around 8 interview days and there were 60-70 interviews each day that list is going to be super long. Trying to stay optimimistic during the wait as LMU is my number one choice. Good luck to everybody on the wait list, I really hope you guys get a spot somewhere!

I agree. I feel like they waitlisted most people from the later interviews to buy themselves more time until the April 16th deadline. I think they wanted to see exactly how many spots they have left after the deadline and then will send out more acceptances.

Looking through my inbox for updates from LMU today got me like:

giphy.gif

I also interviewed on January 22nd and I'm sitting here wondering if I actually talked with one of you in the break room where they served us pizza.

My son has been waiting for LMU also.
He was interviewed the week before Thanksgiving, We were told they received 1300 applications and was interviewing 500 students.
He received his notice on Friday the he was waitlisted for LMU.
He interviewed with UF, but did not get a offer, He has a 3.61 GPA and a 74% GRE score from UF and he just turn 20 years old.
He applied to 8 schools and got 3 interviews and one offer to SGU
We visited LMU 3 times thought he had a real good chance, But at this point he's on the waitlist
I agree something isn't adding up for LMU and if everything is true on this forum that's one big waitlist..
I hope this bit of info helps

Frustrated Dad

I know they are mailing out acceptances so we may have received our waitlist/ rejection emails and they are just waiting for their mailed letters?
I'm just hoping the waitlist starts moving soon!

I interviewed on January 29th and was accepted at the end of February. I declined my spot and will be attending elsewhere. I hope you guys receive good news soon. Good luck to everyone!
