I'm sitting in my back yard, the grass freshly mowed. The grill is slowly cooking some stuff, its a beautiful day. Gentle, slow breeze, about 75 I
suppose. Looking over the pastures and hills, the horses are drinking water
from a pond. I have been here now for a few months, I love the area. Almost like Alaska in someways. I live right near a dirt race track, and wow, they really crank it up on the weekends.
I've been working for SGS minerals, I do about 130 bomb calorimetry tests each night from 6pm until 7am. Great friends at work as well. I shop in KY, buy gas in KY and sleep in TN. I drive past the campus each morning. We all know as the days get longer, the sun arises earlier. Well now, as I leave work and exit the tunnel, its a little lighter outside and I drive by the school again. Its incredible.
I am going to be a surgeon in a rural environment and it is the best moment in my life. My lady and children are coming from Hawaii. Though I miss Hawaii, I am glad to be back home in Appalachia. I too am an older student, and you better believe I'm set on saving lives. Though I've crabbed in Alaska, surfed 20+ foot waves, the Lord has given me so much....but it is this day, that I have prepared for....DCOM. The faculty and system are incredible. I hope everyone is ready, real ready. Aloha!
