WOW!!!! ACCEPTED!!!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY!!! I LOVE DCOM--- my 1st choice!!!!!
 
Congratulation to those who are accepted. Could you guys tell me when you were interviewed? Anyone who were interviewed this week got in already?

Some of the older posts say they interviewed on the first interview week.

The admission lady said they will snail mail everybody, but if Dr. Stowers has time he also calls all accepted students to congratulate. You might get the letter first. You get the news approx. 1-2 weeks from your interview date.

I guess then they decided on the first two weeks applicants today.
Anybody from the third week (19-20) heard anything?
 
Accepted, got the call today. Interviewed 10/12. Awesome!!

The good news is you can do your grocery shopping 5 min away in KY and the sales tax rules are considerably different. And cheaper. I don't think I pay sales tax on groceries.

Yup, that's what the picture is from! That's a very foggy/cloudy day as well. Right now is the best time to go, when the weather is clear and it's not humid... the lack of radiating upward heat lets you see forever.
 
Huge congrats to those who got their acceptance today! One long, hard road is behind you and another one will begin but success is the only thing at the horizon.

For those of you who are not from the Tri-State Appalachian region, we look forward to having you here and know that you'll find in time the hospitality and kindness of most in this region mimics that which you found in the admissions staff!

Pete Debusk once said he only wanted to be remembered as a "son of Appalachia." Good man.
 
Accepted yesterday, unfortunately I'm going to have to decline (got a scholarship offer that is simply too good to pass up at another school). However, I did want to stop in and tell anyone who is slightly interested in this school to APPLY. I was very impressed when I interviewed there. The facilities are amazing, and the faculty is incredibly warm hearted. To everyone in the Class of 2014, Congratulations! This is a really sweet school.

I think you were in my interview group. Oct. 12th right? Congratulations and hope your other interviews all went well!

Sure was. Congrats on the acceptance. Haven't heard from the others, but DCOM will be an awesome school. I wonder if they do any scholoarships before the first deposit deadline.

I was interviewed on 20th. I heard that the decision has been made. But I haven't heard my decision yet though. I believe Dr. Stower is going to sign the letters early next week. I really wonder if I made it. I'm praying. Have you got a call today?
 
Accepted!!! Got the call today. Dr. Stowers said he had tried to call me two days ago, but never could get hold of me. To be honest I was getting a little worried.

As far as I know, there aren't any scholarships through the med school.

I haven't heard anything, I assumed I should hear something by next friday if I got in.
Did the admission office told you all decisions have been made?

Booked my flight, reserved a hotel room, and could have sworn I rented a car. Even though my interview isn't until November 9th, I thought it would be a good idea to double check everything and...I'm glad I did. I forgot to rent a car. Doh!:smack: Anyway, I got that done so hopefully I'm actually all set now.

Hopefully that drive from Knoxville to the school isn't too bad. I'm really hoping to make it to the pizza night on Sunday. Hopefully I'll see some of you soon...although I don't remember seeing anyone else post that they were interviewing on the 9th. 🙁

Anyway, it will be fun to meet some of you SDN folks!

They did not tell me all decisions have been made. They just told me that the decision has been made for my application. But I'm assuming the decision has been made for the applicants who were interviewed before I did. Yes, I'm keep praying. I'm really glad that I got to visit DCOM. I really want to attend there next year. G'luck to you too. It will be great if we become a classmate next year.... joining adam & time md. Keep me posted if you hear anything

Oh yeah!! Enjoy your weekend. I'm glad it is a football season. It makes this waiting game a lot easier and somewhat enjoyable
 
What apartments have a large number of DCOM students (other than University Inn)? I read something about "medipartments" but cant find info on that online

It won't be. Leave in enough time to enjoy the drive, it's gorgeous right now. You're flying so I'm not sure where you're from. This is what the trees look like this week! Hopefully they won't all fall off before you get to come! You get to drive on TN-63 Scenic drive too so it'll be gorgeous.

Looks pretty, I love it when the leaves are changing! I've checked out the area online, it looks beautiful there. Anyway, I'm from Colorado so I'm flying into Knoxville, I should be in around 3:00 pm if all the flights are on schedule. I'm hoping that by the time I pick up the rental and make the drive I'll be in time for the pizza night. It would be nice to meet some of the people and chat for a bit.

There's been a lot of wet weather and that generally makes 'em hang on for dear life a little longer. However, with that being said, my yard looks like a clown exploded so a lot of the brighter colored ones have already fallen off!

Colorado is beautiful and so is this area... it's just two different kinds of beautiful!

Thanks for the info, yes, I just assumed if they looked at your file, they probably looked at all of them.
I let you know if I got the call or not. Will see, I just put all my trust in God and it will work out the way it should.

I am not a football fan, but I am sure I can pass the time with some video games. 😉

Well, you have some options here.
Call the Admission, they have a lot of listings on apartments in the area and know where most students live.

Check Facebook, the other classes post some info on apartments, room for rent. I saw 2 last week.

Contact Jessica Barnes, she is the SOMA leader. She can help you and let you know where students stay and a lot of other useful info. Her name and e-mail on the Pizza night paper, let me know if you want me to tell you. They told me where they lived, but I can't remember the name, sorry.

Also, make sure when you see an apartment for rent CHECK YOUR PHONE SIGNAL. It might work in 1 apartment and not in another next to it.

I got my acceptance today. I got a call from Dr. Stowers. I was super happy. I think I screamed for a minute or two. See you everyone next fall.

Ditto on the interview invite! When did you get yours scheduled? I am on 12/8. I was hoping for something a little earlier because finals are the week after, but I'll take anything really! 🙂
 
I got my acceptance phone call Monday! I am can not wait until next fall!!!

It was nice but the no call was a technical error. My phone didn't register Dean Stowers' voicemail until I received another voicemail tonight. He had called on Oct. 22nd with the good news. 😱

While that certainly may be a factor.. students that are offered interviews and accepted are from all over the country, so I certainly wouldn't be too worried about it if you're not from around here!

I just got an Interview Invite five minutes ago and I'm from Hollywood FL.

First available was Dec 8, but I selected Jan 11 due to scheduling conflicts.

I'm very excited about this school!!!😀
