Can someone check the accepted FB page to see how many people are on there? I would but I currently have my FB deactivated so I can focus on MCAT

Yes there were 10 people when I checked last night!
Also their number is 615-327-6998 I believe if anyone needs it!
Wish someone from the older mhs classes could tell us more information of how this program is run! I’m very confused that they missed this deadline honestly ! In the past threads I’ve read nothing but good stuff

Facts! I'm used to just being told day of about things from an HBCU. And just early at a PWI lol my momma and stepdad have been looking at me like "wth is up with this wait"

I did read last year or the year prior people were still getting accepted 2 weeks into the start of the program which is absolutely ridiculous. I pray that doesn't happen with us.
 
Well, I hope we all get in. Especially since someone mention they are increasing the class of the MHS program to 100, which would correlate with the school's 2026 Sesquicentennial plan to increase the number of students in the graduate school to 300 by 2026

Wow, I just looked at it. They want 900 med students total enrolled by 2026 so that's 225 per class. And according to MSAR last years first-year class was 113. So that's 112 more spots per class. I wonder how many more sports per year they plan to increase the med school. If they do it by the same amount per year and start next year that hovers around 18 - 19 more med student spots per year. Interesting.

Yeah and since they want a "village campus" and want 1200 students on campus, I wonder if they are building more student apartments

Hey everybody, instead of continuing to creep on this forum I finally made an SDN account. I’m also past the “first stage” of acceptance and anxiously awaiting acceptance .

Love the optimism and support in this forum though and let’s keep speaking things into existence!

Also, who has the Nashville barber plug? Lol
 
They are not going to answer their phone this morning. That's typical of them

I spoke with someone this morning and was told that decisions should be released within the next couple of days. She stated that they received over 7,000 applications for the MHS program, so it was a lot to go through and that some applicants are still under review 😳😳. Guess we will just have to keep our eyes open and hopes high this week! Praying heavily for us all!

How was it that many for this program?! I guess there goes my hope.
 
7,000?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Alright. I’m just finna go study for my Mcat because naw...smh

Someone spoke to them a few weeks ago and that 7000 number was for the amount of applicants for all programs combined

I remember someone saying this a while back but when they spoke to a higher up person, they said 7,000 for all graduate programs. I'm going to believe that because it makes me feel better lol. And was it too many applicants or could they not make it in. What is the truth???

It makes more sense for all grad programs. They received 5000 apps for the med school last year. So if they received 7000 this year, that would be like all 7000 got rejected and are trying to get into the MHS program which doesn't make sense lol

Go to Headlinerz on Jefferson street. It’s prolly 2 mins from a Meharry. Ask for Big Will. He got me right when I cut my dreads off.
 
I talked to them and they told me that it was 7000 total apps this year. I am losing any faith in anything they say and really losing faith about all of this. If there is this much confusion over acceptances, what will the program be like? I am pretty discouraged right now.

It was 7000+ apps for the med school. I don’t think the MHS program got that many apps.
 
so did they send everyone who applied a letter saying that their application has been recommended by the committee to move forward. I am certain not every application moved forward. I am so over this

1. Decisions will be released today
2. The MHS class has 100 seats
3. The 3.5 gpa and 501 MCAT requirements are changing due to the increased class size. The person I spoke to didn’t give me exact numbers but he said the requirements will be much higher to be able to matriculate straight into the next med class.
4. I asked if the new requirements will be released with our acceptance letters and he said definitely not and it would be released “closer to the orientation date”

Oh and the 7,000 apps was for the med school, NOT mhs

I pretty much saw the more competitive requirements coming. It only makes sense. But does not mean someone who gets a 3.5 and 501 doesn't have a chance. But they would probably have to interview as apposed to someone who gets a 3.8 and 507 getting automatic seat. I guess we'll see soon enough.

Thanks for the info..... man they tripping tripping. Why increase the requirements this is starting to look pointless if it’s gonna be much higher scores needed to get in. Ppl might as well just reapply for Med school.
