I stated one reason with my lynch, and that is because players who do not contribute much to the thread will not have many posts for others to analyze or look for inconsistencies/holes. Lurking is a strategy that allows for them to infrequently with less risk that they will slip up, say something inconsistent, or reveal too much information. This is the big reason why I voted for her. And as I type this, she has still yet to show up to the thread (I know it's still early). Cray just mentioned that she believes Stella is trying her hardest to play these games, and that may be true, but that doesn't mean it's still not a strategy some wolves use.

Went back and looked at the whisk and noob games and you're right. Although the above strategy was used by Sky in the last game (whether Sky was actually busy or just lurking or both we won't know).

Yeah I was wrong. I don't think I am usually too mean with my words unless someone is trying to twist them, but noted. This vote will likely be waffled later, I'm just going off of what posts are/are not on thread right now.

Seems too hedgey to me. Yeah my reasoning was weak and I brought it up to see what Kara's response would be, but LIS jumping on it while setting himself up to waffle off just isn't sitting right with me. Granted, I haven't played a game where LIS was a wolf, but he usually has more conviction.

Will reevaluate when I come back to the game later today. For now

Hmm. Maybe? Either way it was before my time but i thought i'd heard it was nutmeg. Sadly the lounge doesn't have a record of all their games.
 
The RVS is my least fave too. But it does seem to work to catch wolves sometimes, and often, the man behind that is LIS.

But today LIS' vote kinda wigged me out.

But now I'm getting paranoid of LIS, you, Mel, and Kara. Which I think was the exact tunneling I had in MI but Pippy isn't playing this time. And also had me defending a sketchy noob. Sigh.

I'm trying really hard not to get uber paranoid of AM and Coopah. Coop is reading village to me, for the first time ever. I think I'm just reading her better now. But I'm not sure I've seen her as a wolf.

There the wash cycle of paranoia begins.

It wasn't about Stella. Like I said, it was about people coasting to wins. Not any one person in particular. I just don't think it makes for a fun game.

Look. I know you love the touchey feeling we're-all-friends be-nice-to-each-other stuff, but this is WW. It's ALL ABOUT CONFLICT. So cut it with the "be kind" and "positive reinforcement" stuff. It's a game about knocking each other off, ok? People need to bring a little bit of thick skin. N00bs get killed. Vets get killed. It's the way of the game.

Mel's wrong in his vote for me, but I like his reasoning, at least. It's good D1 stuff.

For the record, I wasn't setting myself up to waffle. I was just calling it like it is - your reason was weak as hell. Just like almost every D1 vote. That's just me being blunt.

I can see your point, though. I go pretty hard with my votes. It's not quite conviction, though - you're misinterpreting. It's more .... well, we have to vote, so I'm not gonna sit here and second guess myself all day long and fret, I'm just gonna go with the vote and let the chips fall.

I get that you want Stella to play, but if she can’t if you jump in and defend her every time. She has to stand up for herself. If we let noobs sit back and say nothing, we’ll end up with Lawpy the sequel (quiet noob wolves).

but I'm dying to know, what the two reasons for why whoever voted whatever voted that way, or why someone thought there was two, and if there are two, what are the 2?????

Am I the only one confused and wanting answers??

I basically already gave my reason by quoting Coop's post involving Bryndy, but it's because Bryndy gave what I found to be a suitable D1 reason for lynching someone (albeit wrong in her stella wolf statement) and Coop pressed for further reasoning. Also called Mel out for "throwing shade early" and then Coop proceeds to do exactly that as well. Just hard to tell if this is village play coming out swinging or a wolf trying too hard to find reasons to lynch people. Nothing major but in the interest of voting often and early, Coop stood out most to me.

I buy it. I really disliked the interaction with bryndiana considering it was a pretty strong early attack for someone who hasn't bothered to actually vote.

I didn't like the Mel/shade comment, either. Nothing wrong with throwing shade early on. Everyone knows it's weak. So what?

Oops. I already broke the rules. Edited that last post. Didn't change anything, just added the second line. Forgot we can't edit, since lately we've been able to.

Yeah I didn't like that coop/bryndy interaction from either of them, but since coop is already in the lead and is good at talking herself into a D1 lynch, I'll lynch my mantee for now. Not feeling that strongly about either so might change my vote if I can get on later today.

Ok I see your point, it's valid but also not indicative of a wolf. There are players like Nyanko who use this strategy as a wolf or a villager and there's simply no way to distinguish them. I think it's a bit unfair to target quiet people because they're quiet until mid-game where they've at least proven to have nothing to contribute. If the vote was to encourage her to talk more I'd be more ok with it, but as of now it's kinda a dick move. Last game is a bad example but there has been plenty of times when Nyanko is a super helpful villager but is still quiet. Just pointing out a potential flaw with your logic.

My two reasons were to
1) Either she's trying to get stella to talk more OR
2) Wolf going for an easy lynch

I didn't want to spell it out in case she didn't have a great answer. So far the only thing I understand from her is I lynched her because she's historically quiet, which is kinda stupid imo.

Also I didn't vote because I was in class (on lunch now) and didn't have time to type up reasoning or look all that hard. The only votes out there at that point were bryn and joke votes. I dislike joke votes because I've had my ass kicked a few times putting one of those out there. Hell, one time I got lynched for tagging someone too early.

So yeah lynching someone cause they're quiet isn't valid D1 lynch in my book so

Fair enough, just from past games she is typically a pretty quiet player so I wanted to push her to talk a bit more today. As I said in an above post, I likely won't keep my vote here unless she raises red flags from her posts.

Call it what you want, there are some who still have joke lynches out, and instead you're going to lynch me who provides actual reasoning for my vote. You may think it's stupid and that's fine, but it is a strategy that wolves sometimes use. I could put out a joke vote, but that doesn't seem very useful. I would rather have players who actually post so I can look for inconsistencies in the information they provide, as opposed to those who barely post, and skate their way to end game.

That's my point, there was nothing else to analyse which is why I was focusing on you, the reason my vote is where it is is because you didn't defend your reasoning. I'm not saying you're stupid either, I just think that reasoning as a serious reason D1 isn't the smartest. It is a strategy wolves use, and I'm not saying she isn't a wolf, I don't know that. I'm just saying voting for someone because of their play style isn't a useful way to vote. I'm sure you'll switch your vote because there's no way you'd allow yourself to end up in a tie with me at the end. I'm just trying to flush out my logic for you, and others.

For all the talk I hear about wolves not talking much in order to avoid mistakes, I tend to notice over-explaining as a particularly wolfy trait in order to try to seem legit.

Which is it then? Did I not defend my reasoning or do you just not like my reasoning for that vote? Because you can't have both. I have been defending my reasoning since I voted for Stella. If you don't see that then you need to go back and reread the thread. I don't think justifying voting for me by saying my vote isn't the "smartest" is a pretty weak vote, and seems almost sketch since I just want her to share her thoughts on this thread a bit more. Voting for people to get them to talk seems to be a pretty common thing in the games I have played.

I also had Stella on my original watch list however because I know Cray has been trying to help her out more and get her to post and play more I wasn’t going after this one today. I know she hasn’t been a wolf but I think even with that said and if the wolves were picked I dont think she would be playing as one yet, but I could be completely wrong. Just want to have my thoughts out there. I will give her some time to open up and join in on the WW fun!
 
Addition to last post:

I was aiming at people I know have played and haven’t been wolves yet (to my knowledge, I didn’t search too hard for this). That’s why I was picking BJones and Stella.
