MPH 2020: Applied, Accepted, Rejected, Waitlisted

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For anyone who has been accepted to rutgers does anyone know how their fin-aid works? Do you need to be enrolled to know how much aid you have to receive? Also, does anyone have any thoughts about their program? Tysm!

Has anyone started to make a final decision yet? All signs are pointing towards Columbia for me, its really a no brainer considering I want to do HPM. I'm just hoping for ANY sort of scholarship to justify the decision and then I'll be making my deposit. Will I see anyone at Admitted Student's Day on March 6th?

Me too!

Is Harvard only sending admission offers or rejections too?
No clue. I just saw above earlier where someone said they called their office and they said they would be releasing decisions for the next 3 weeks on Thursday’s and Fridays

I realized yesterday that I applied to a Harvard program that has like 4 students total so needless to say I probably won’t get in HAHA. I should’ve done better research but I just went by the degree and course descriptions. Oh well.
Which program did you apply to? And where on the website is mentioned about the number of students in that program? I am also feeling I made a mistake by applying to SM 42.5 credits program but I just emailed them and asked about my eligibility to graduate studies coordinator and they gave me a go ahead.

Thank you. I still do not have an update on my portal. I applied on the Nov 25th so I am nervous!

I'm pretty sure I'm going to go to UNC -- its been my top choice all along! Also just waiting for some type of financial package to hit accept but I think no matter how it goes I'll be there. 🙂

Turned down my offers from NTU and UCSF today, felt kind of sad. 100% heading towards the east coast for me, but not sure which institution yet!

I’ve whittled it down from seven to... three. Lol. Tulane, NYU and BU. Anybody else considering one of these schools?

Welcome to the east coast! It's cold here but you'll have fun, can't go wrong with either Harvard or Yale if they are your top choices.

Happy to hear that!! I wanted to apply to UNC but I couldn't get past the two separate applications. I hear nothing but good things about their programs though. Congrats 🙂

Thank you! Looking forward to it, but I'll definitely miss California weather. It's currently 19 degrees Celsius in February hahaha

Gonna go winter sale shopping for a nice coat soon 🙂

I applied to SM60 Biostatistics and I was looking at 2017 and 2018 graduation data.

Basically am between JHU and Emory but am leaning more towards Emory bc I'm not sure how I would like living in Baltimore. I should see it for myself. I'm hoping for an acceptance from Harvard to add into the mix.

I would wait on the coat purchase until you decide where you are going. I personally would buy a different coat for Boston than for NYC! 🙂

That's definitely good to know hahaha I wasn't aware of the disparity! I've been spoiled too long 🤣

Thank you and I totally understand haha! Congratulations to you as well -- you're going to love it at Columbia, I've lived in the city all my life and it's one of my favorite places to be!

Has anyone every accidentally sent GRE scores to a school that does not require them? My scores were pretty low and idk if that would hurt my chances since they done require them at all

No, that should not hurt you. When they say that they don't require them, then they shouldn't even be considering them. I sent mine to BU before they said they no longer require them.

I'm considering Tulane, BU and UNC - all for Health Policy! What programs did you get in for? And what are you thinking of each? I'm super confused over here 🙂

Hey did anyone ever hear from USC???

I am also waiting to hear from them! It's a little nerve wracking because it was the first place I sent my application to (along with UT which I heard back from like 2 weeks after I submitted). I did have some communication with them as I sent my GRE score to the general school code instead of the MPH one so I emailed them in November about it and they said it was fine but then on Feb 7 I got an email saying they were missing my scores. So I had to email again and they said it must have been overlooked and it will be no problem. So at least I know they are starting to review some apps but the suspense is killing me as it is my last school to hear back from!!

Did anyone receive any decision from Harvard today?

I've narrowed it down to 4! I've made a pros and cons list for each, as well as what financial aid number would make me commit tomorrow. Ultimately I'm still holding out for fund$! Congrats on picking Columbia!!

waitlisted at harvard for the 65-credit program! guess i'm be choosing between columbia or hopkins now!
