As the application deadlines for many MPH programs near, I am beginning to get nervous about my candidacy, especially my lack of research. With that being said, I am interested in Maternal and Child Health Policy as opposed to epi, etc. Any tips are helpful! Thanks in advance and good luck to you all!

GRE:Taking it next week, expect above average verbal score and average quant
Experience:
- Currently serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA at a state government agency's headquarters working on substance use disorder response and prevention
- Interned at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Housing and Patient Services
- Went on a 2-week-long medical brigade to Siem Reap, Cambodia where we held free clinics in rural areas
- Was a fellow for a state delegate's campaign (I am interested in policy)
- Interned for a local health department for one semester, worked on food insecurity
- Various leadership and service experiences throughout college

Interested in: Maternal and Child Health Policy - Adverse Childhood Experiences, parental substance use disorder, SUD/STI screening best-practices and biases for pregnant and parenting women, expanding Medicaid services to include wraparound services
