I'm curious about what everyone loves about Yale? I didn't apply (just because I prefer larger cities) but I see a lot of people on here did. Side note, the campus is beautiful-- I did a research internship there and it felt like Hogwarts lol
Personally, I think Yale started off as "love at first sight" but it then came down to "fit".
Yale University as a whole speaks volumes about its history, culture, academic rigor. While many other schools have the same, the camaraderie, connectedness, close-knit community, small class-sizes, coupled with innovating thinking and collaboration is what made it stand-out.
I understand rankings matter, at the same time, YSPH is most likely overshadowed by the Law, Med and Business schools such that it does not the credit it deserves. However the Yale "label" is something people know of, from Tanzania to Tennessee.
I do not necessarily agree with the statement that its US focused; their global health department is far reaching and I get the feeling that "humanitarian" and "social justice" is weaved into their culture, be it law, med or public health. Yale alumni are everywhere making a difference!
I definitely agree with
@Sunshine2021 about how they handled the whole admission process, it really makes a difference and sets the tone for students perception about the university. I got prompt responses from Dean's and Directors when I reached out to them, and that says a lot,
I might not end up going to Yale, but I will certainly miss it if I don't.
Disclaimer: Some of my statements might be biased simply because I like to say nice things about things that I love
