Sooo conflicted! I was SO SO SO SO set on Columbia but now that I've gotten into UCLA, I'm so torn!
Hahahaha literally!! In the same boat🙁(( me too .... does my alma mater who ruined my GPA not want me back?
Hahahahah! GO BEARS!Hahahaha literally!! In the same boat
Omg this is me with ucla!!Got into CAL and UCLA!!!! Can’t believe it either, I honestly didn’t think I would be getting in! Got denied by cal for undergrad so this means a lot for me personally
Now I’m conflicted about Columbia lol
What do you mean by limited class sizes? I'm worried about Cal now ...I was so looking forward to hearing from California schools but seeing how they have limited class sizes (UCLA epi and Cal epi/Biostat) I am losing my hopes. I wish for some miracle now
What I know is Cal has an approx class size of 25 students for Epi/BiostatsWhat do you mean by limited class sizes? I'm worried about Cal now ...
For those who were asking, I received an email notification to check the portal on Thursday at around 10am EST. For some reason I wasn't able to view the financial aid decision until today (most likely because I viewed the acceptance portal on my phone on Thursday and didn't log onto the my.harvard page on my laptop until today. In at Harvard’s SM80 in global health with a 50% tuition grant!
If someone has received aid yet, I’m curious whether the grant applies only for the 2021-22 year or if it’s available for both years of the program? The award letter says:
“After careful review, the School is pleased to offer you the following institutional grant/scholarship* assistance for your enrollment in the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health for the 2021-2022 academic year. Your academic department is pleased to offer you a Harvard Chan 50% Tuition Grant based on your academic excellence and/or financial need. This scholarship is for the duration of your program.”
Does this mean the grant only applies for the first year?

same for UCLA it said for 2019 they only had 32 students admitted to EpidemiologyWhat I know is Cal has an approx class size of 25 students for Epi/Biostats
Hi. Can I pm you as well?Eh true I think that they look at school names to some extent but with my knowledge it was mostly the experience portion that was looked at, especially as many applicants are from around the world.
I just spent a few months last year as an intern for the UN and assisted with admin work that comes with recruitment - no role in the official decision making process but I have a sense for what goes on which is helpful as I'd like to get back in at the UN or one of its agencies after I complete my MPH. You can PM me if you'd like!
It was a great experience and honestly if anyone is interested in work like that of the UN, I would say try to intern first just to get a sense of what the environment is like because it looks great from the outside but may not be the right fit for everyone
I don't think this data is accurate because my friend goes to UCLA and the data says his cohort has 2 people but he says they have 60 hahasame for UCLA it said for 2019 they only had 32 students admitted to Epidemiology
can you like this? I want to seeCal's website says they admit 50/145 for the MPH in Epi/Biostat - it seems possible they haven't sent out all of the acceptances yet. Really really hoping there is still a chance!
SOPHAS verified 11/13/20Do you mind sharing when you applied? Thank you!
Congrats!!! What dept?holy crap guys....EMORY GAVE ME A 50% TUITION SCHOLARSHIP!!!!!! +2,500 REAL AND $2,000 APE

GLEPI!Congrats!!! What dept?
Congrats!!! Did they tell you via email? I got accepted this week and want to figure out scholarship/aid!holy crap guys....EMORY GAVE ME A 50% TUITION SCHOLARSHIP!!!!!! +2,500 REAL AND $2,000 APE

So they don't include need-based aid in their initial aid offer? Why is aid so complicated this cycle...Hi guys, just found out that BU has a separate short application for need based aid: SPH – School of Public Health | Student Financial Services
Lol I know! I think it's just BU loans anyway: "Assesses eligibility for need-based institutional loans, and federal loan aid, based on your program." but no. I think the initial offer was just a scholarship. I would fill it out just in case.So they don't include need-based aid in their initial aid offer? Why is aid so complicated this cycle...
i applied after the priority so its rolling - if you applird before it says 5-6 weeksDid anyone else apply to the MS in global health at Georgetown and heard back, or know when we will be hearing back?
you are amazing, congrats!! let us know where you decide on!Just received my LAST decision (UMass) and I am in!! As someone who has a bad case of imposter syndrome, I am beyond proud of myself for getting into all three schools I applied to (I'm looking at you BU). Thank you all for your help during this app cycle!!
congratulations 🙂🙂🙂do you mind specifying whether you are doing the 65 or 45 credit?Hello, my first post here.
I got accepted by Columbia HPM on 2/16. No words on financial aid
Don’t worry guys! I haven’t been contacted about need-based aid yet and I filled out that app last month. It takes five minutes to fill out so if need-based aid is a concern for you, I would fill it out!So they don't include need-based aid in their initial aid offer? Why is aid so complicated this cycle...
Omg your name😍 I’m igbo too lolSo, I shot an email to HSPH admissions on when to expect a decision (I applied for Quantitative Methods MPH-45), and this was the response: (attachment)
PS: I got into JHSPH and UMSPH last December, I haven’t accepted any, waiting on scholarships/aids and Harvard to decide.
Thanks!!! Yeah I got an email 2 days after my acceptance with the subject "Rollins School of Public Health Scholarship Notification". Honestly still shocked lol. I'm sure you'll hear from them soon! Doesn't hurt to ask either, their admissions team is pretty helpful!Congrats!!! Did they tell you via email? I got accepted this week and want to figure out scholarship/aid!
Yes I am 🤗. Which schools did you apply to and which are you settling for?Omg your name😍 I’m igbo too lol
Congratulations on your UNC acceptance. What is your concentration? For those of you accepted to UNC for your MPH, was your award listed on your admissions page or is it similar to Columbia where we have to wait three to four weeks to hear what our funding looks like?
also side note: how do you all have that banner with ur stats under it? is that a setting that sdn users can toggle?
Congrats!!! MPH or MS?Got into UCLA Epi!!
Congratulations on your UNC acceptance. What is your concentration?
From what I have read, UNC doesn't give out many awards. Hope that is inaccurate information, so please post here if you have been offered aid from UNC.
MPH!Congrats!!! MPH or MS?
oh ok thank you so much! Yeah I know it would probably be better to wait but I really have this gut feeling that I want to go for it. And I’m thinking what’s the worst that can happen if I apply and get in? I think I’d regret it more if I didn’t try.I think it depends on the school but most are on a rolling basis. Brown is accepting applications until March 1 and I think BU is April 1. So you have time!!
Also just wanted to note that I jumped into the process of looking for schools last year around this time, and even though there were schools still accepting applications, I decided to wait for the next application cycle. This allowed me to thoroughly research programs, figure out what I wanted out of a school/program and strengthen my application.
There are pros and cons to both applying now and waiting for the next cycle to apply. You could very likely get into some great programs if you apply now! But you could also apply to programs that might be a better fit for you if you take your time 🙂
I think UNC releases aid later sometime in March. But from what I know, their aid is very limited.Congratulations on your UNC acceptance. What is your concentration?

like allDC employers - this is kinda vague? in public health?Does anyone know what programs do DC employers prefer hiring from? Federal agencies mostly. But also consulting firms
Looking at your username -- are you a dual degree applicant? If so, maybe HSPH only released decisions for dual degree?FYI: While I did get accepted on a Thursday, a friend of mine currently at Harvard told me that the whole thursday-friday-monday schedule is not valid this year. Acceptances can arrive on any one of those days. Hope this gives you some peace of mind during these anxious times friends.
