NC State University c/o 2020 Applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Decisions have not been finalized yet. Our goal was to email admissions decisions by Monday, February 15, but our process has been delayed. Our official policy is notification no later than April 1st but we do our best to send out decision letters earlier.
Wow, sounds like they are really behind! I wonder what caused the delay. Weren't VMCAS applications due earlier this year but also in a new format? I wonder if it was technical difficulties. I think I read it took longer than expected to get applications from the VMCAS system. Maybe they are having issues with the email system? Maybe someone on the committee had a family emergency? I can only imagine they are working as hard as they can. They got a lot of applications and reviewing each one must be an incredible amount of work. I don't envy the decisions they have to make.

Admitted students day is supposed to be April 1st. Can you imagine: Congrats you got in....can you be here in 5? 😛

Adjusting countdown to April 1 so that I can try to convince myself not to freak out...

We appreciate the continued patience of our Non-Resident Applicants as our Admissions Committee finishes up the decision process.

We did have an ice day here in the Triangle on Monday. Everything was shut down-- hopefully that had nothing to do with it.

When I saw I had an email from NCState CVM, my heart rate went through the roof.... and then I read it. The anticipation!!

@NCSU CVM Do you know information about this? Like if our dogs like to run can we still race in the 5K or should we just stay in the dog walk? Thanks!

The 5K is for humans only. Dogs can only participate in the walk.

This is from the registration page...

IRONDOG 5K & 1.5M Dog Walk to be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016!

5K race will begin at 10 a.m. and 1.5M dog walk to begin at 10:15 a.m.

NC State IRONDOG is a charity that raises money for animals whose owners cannot afford their medical care. IRONDOG members raise pledges for completion of endurance athletic events. IRONDOG race registration fees and your generous donations are made directly to the fund and are used to sponsor selected cases of dogs and cats hospitalized at NC State's Veterinary Hospital at the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Participants must be registered by March 4, 2016 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Same day registration will be available but a t-shirt will not be provided. Same day registration fee will be $35 for 5K Run/Walk and $20 for 1.5 Mile Dog Walk.

No dogs allowed during the 5k Run/Walk. Dogs participate in the 1.5 Mile Dog Walk only.

Wait, I didn't get that email!! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN! 🙁

Check your spam. Some of these kind of emails were going to my spam email.

I didn't get that email either and my spam is empty. I've elected not to worry about it, since the only way I'll know anything concrete about admissions decisions is when I get an email from NCSU telling me what their decision is.

What was said 100% aligned with the timeline they said they hoped to meet - end of February. Which means this week! 🙂
I hope that's true because the most recent email from them implied that the timeline is anywhere between Feb 15 and April 1st.

I think that was just in case any more unforseen things come up. From the way it was talked about, they'll get them out as soon as possible. PM me if you want more details. 🙂

Any insight on whether the projected in state notification is also definitely being pushed back? Or are you still aiming for March 15?

Rejected OOS🙁! At least I already have acceptances - but I really was interested in NC State. Oh well! Congrats to everyone who got in🙂!

I am, and I'm starting to wonder if it has something to do with not having received all the other emails too
I was thinking this too, but I don't want to call and bother them if they are working hard to get emails out over time...

hang in there guys! it's a form email that has you open an attachment with your decision letter, so they didn't write different ones for accepted/waitlist/rejected. good luck!!!

Has anybody who has received a decision so far also not receive the iron dog and open house emails the other day?

Waitlisted! No worries, I'm going elsewhere. Congrats to those with acceptances! 🙂
Hey! I've seen you in a thread or two that I am also in and was curious - where have you decided on going?

I never received either email but did receive a decision! I think it is just taking a while to get through decisions. They mentioned there were 678 OOS applicants in my letter, so even after narrowing those down a few times they probably still have a large chunk to contact - and that's only OOS stats!

Not 100%, but I'm hoping to make a final decision by this weekend! How about you? 🙂
Unsure as well! I have 2 more schools to hear from (hopefully by friday) and then I will have to sit down and figure that out!
