Bumping. Any calls last night?? When will the waiting END?!

speak of the devil, new jersey sent me a notification that i'm on the "alternate" list. What does that mean exactly? And can I call to find out my ranking on that list or what?

hey, sorry to hear about that

but welcome to the alternate list, come join lol

i called njms, they dont rank their waitlist until juneish, so they dont have anything to tell you

rwj on the other hand does rank u, and will tell you what 1/3 you fall into if you call

good luck!

thanks for the quick reply. i'm really bummed out and can't really make myself do anything other than read these boards right now.

How many of us roughly are on the alternate list?

No I applied at the last minute and I only had one other interview at BU. That school does its acceptances and interviews in two rounds, so long story short I wont hear anything from them until mid or late March.

Other than that I've been rejected from several and still have not heard anything at all from about as many. 👎

ohh, well good luck with that

im only on 2 waitlists, so i feel ya

an interview at bu is quite impressive though

Hey guys
I asked this earlier but no one answered. So here it goes again:
I recently received a rejection from NJMS post interview. Now I do have one other acceptance so I won't need to reapply but I'm really curious why I was rejected. Is there any way I can find out why I was rejected??

You can probably email Dr. H, and he might be able to tell you y....good luck with the rest of your apps....and congratz on ur first acceptance...

if you dont feel like going through email, you can call the admissions office and ask to set up an appointment with Dr. H (even just to talk over the phone)

My apps were complete in september, and I have not heard a single word from my NJ schools. But I did get interviews at other schools!

Why not from my home state!

I called them up and all they say is that my app is complete!

Why is that? Just say it : ADCOM thought my app sucked.

Let me have closure!

Has anyone received a rejection letter from any NJ schools?

same thing happened to me, i even met with dr. terregino in person and she all but said i had a great shot at interviewing and getting into rwj. i didnt get an invite from njms either. it doesnt matter b/c i got into med school in nc, but still. i love nj and they didnt show me any love!!!

Has anyone recieved an interview invite or any correspondence
from RWJ recently, like in the last week or two... Because I call
and I get a different response every time, and as far as they tell me
I should have heard from them as of last week or earlier.
Thanks guys.

i just got a letter today from rwj saying i'm on the waitlist.

so.... i interviewed way back in october.

after putting me on post hold.. they tell me they will have a decision for me in february.

their decision: waitlist.

Anyone that has been offered an interview recently
or knows whats RWJ's interview status please comment.
I've been calling them enough so I think I should stop
that for awhile.

wow. this thread has been missing from the front page for a long time huh

Yeah long time away. I just removed my application from the pool at RWJ yesterday, so at least one more spot opened up!

The thread is slowing down b/c NJ schools are rolling, and I feel most of their class is filled...anywayss, gluck to everyone waiting for an acceptance or an interview....

Is anyone going to RWJ for sure next year?

i interviewed there recently & would definitely love to go..i just hope i get in 🙂)) but from what the admission director said, they gave out a bunch of acceptances, and have deposits for around 180 students...their class size however is usually around 140-150...so i dont know what the prospects are...

good luck to everyone🙂 this is such a long process..
did anyone interview with dr. hayes at rwjms? thanks!

is rwj done offering interview dates?

(this thread is dead...) rwjms admission committee meets this thursday fyi;

they dont give out more acceptances than seats available at any given point in time, so how would they have accumulated so many deposits?

For interviews, or decisions?

its mainly for deciding the fate of those who interviewed recently...she said that there were still interviews to be held in the coming weeks, but i dont know if they will be giving out much more interview invites...call them and ask tho...

Does anyone know what the mobility of the njms alternate list is like? what are the chances after being waitlisted?

I heard the movement is slim, but some do get off the list....I'm waitlisted as well, so I really hope I get accepted off of the list.....so keep your head up; you never know what can happen come June...gluck

Yes, she is really really nice and very smart as well. I had a really nice time interviewing with her.🙂 Lots of ethics...

i dont know, but she def. said that...maybe it was a slip of the tongue or smthg.

RWJ had another one of those meetings today!...:luck:

I got the call from Dr. T tonight 🙂

Congrats! Will you definitely be at RWJ next year?

If they give me one of their scholarships, YES! I really liked the school, I have friends in the area, and I could live at home while doing my rotations in Camden during 3rd and 4th years. But I'm still waiting to hear back from a few schools and I think financial aid packages and my impressions after revisits will be a big factor in where I ultimately end up.

Makes sense. Well congratulations again! Would you mind telling me why you chose Camden for clinicals? I keep hearing conflicting things about Camden vs. New Brunswick for M3-M4 and I'm just trying to get as many different opinions as I can...

Well, congrats all that received acceptances to NJMS or RWJ so far. To those on the waitlist, yes the movement may be minimal, but there's absolutely no reason to stop hoping. I wish fortune for you all!

a couple of reasons, i guess the formost being that's the one i've been accepted to 😛 i've heard that both are great, but since less medical students go to camden, they are needed more and end up being given more patient responsibility and are able to perform more procedures on their own. again, this is all heresay, maybe a current student would know better?

to the other peson who asked, i interviewed 1/26. congrats to everyone else with acceptances and good :luck: to those still waiting to hear.

Hey LunaMD,
Have you started looking for housing. Where are you going to live New Brunswick, Piscataway, Highland Park? I need housing ideas.

I havent started looking at housing details, but from talking to current students at robert wood, I will definitely live in Piscataway, as close to the school as possible. One of my friends said that she rented an apartment in new brunswick because it was a little cheaper and really regretted it. She said it would take her almost an hour to make the 15 min drive from her apartment to the school during traffic, and she said she would have rather paid for the convenience of living closer to campus.

Hey everyone,

I was recently (last night) accepted to RWJMS and have an acceptance to NJMS from back in October. Any input on which one to go with?

Congratulations!! When did you interview at RWJ?

thanks! i interviewed on january 2nd...i think they told me 3 weeks until a decision would be made...but that they were backed up so it could be longer

So.....I interviewed @ RWJ on January 30th

They said 3-4 weeks...then i called early and they said 4-6 weeks. Would interviews from around then have been brought to commitee when they met a couple days ago.
