well, there would have been one if they are still having the meetings (i know for sure they had one on 3/22- two weeks prior)

So again I ask if there is anyone on sdn who is on RWJ's high priority alternate list, or even if anyone knows of anyone else who is on the HP alternate list.

I'm going crazy over whether it exists and if so, how many people get put on it and how their chances compare to previous years when everyone from the HP list got in eventually.

Thanks for any insight.

Are you on the HP waitlist? If yes, then did it say that in your letter or did you call them and ask your position on the waitlist?
 
for rwj I was told my an admissions rep that there was no HP waitlist this year and that they did away with that, they just simply rank

did anyone else hear otherwise?
 
yes i heard about 2 weeks ago at my interview at RWJ that there was a HP alternate list for when the committee voted to accept you but the class was filled so they couldn't offer you an acceptance. and if you are on this list you would be the first to get an acceptance and "usually" mostly all of the people on it are offered

Right now its Number one on my list! Im still waiting to hear from one more school and Im waitlisted at another school.. But I was so excited for my call.. I almost cried on the phone with the person who called me lol! Are you going??
 
I got the call last night.
I was shocked. I didn't even register that it was Thursday, in the manner in which I had usually come to be obsessed about Thursday nights.

This process has been so emotionally draining, that it didn't even register with me. I honestly had written off RWJ, as I thought they had written me off. I'm so confused.
 
yup same situation w/ me. 🙂

I interviewed back on Jan 26 and got the call this past thursday.. They kept telling me that It was their fault and not mine that my file was taking so long to reach the ADCOM.. But Im in! Im waiting on two more schools and then i will decide! Good Luck!
 
so why are they calling people with acceptances when someone said earlier that rwj began their "high priority waitlist" for those who they wanted to extend an acceptance to but no longer had any open spots for

things arent quite lining up lol

they told us they had one but as of two weeks ago they said they hadn't put anyone on it yet
 
I guess they just started making up the high priority waitlist since I just found out today that I'm on it. So does anyone know what the chances are to move off of this waitlist? Also, I've already sent updates and a letter of intent. Is there anything more I can do at this point to help my situation?

That's a good point made about things not lining up since they are still accepting people despite the fact that there are no spots left.

I spoke to Kramer this week and she said they started putting people on their waitlist at the meeting two weeks before 3/22. hmm...
 
I interviewed early March and my snail mail letter was dated April 13th, just after their Thursday committee decision, I guess. Given kudu73's post on what Ms. Kramer said, I don't know what to believe. I really hope the "alternate" list means "there's no more spots," not "you're not good enough," or I'd feel cheated.
 
just to clarify- kramer said the high priority wl was created at the 3/8 adcom meeting because that's when they ran out out spots. people put on the hpwl are people the adcom voted to accept but had no spots left to offer.

so why then at last thursday's 4/12 meeting did they accept people and offer them spots, if other people were accepted but not given spots? something fishy is going on.

If the HP waitlist was created on March 8, then it would seem that's when they ran out of spots, but I was told by two different people on my March 9 interview that there were "plenty of" spots left.

i think people are reading last years RWJ thread where they did have the HPWL and are just making stuff up based on that

i dont know why they would tell me that they did away with that and theres only 1 normal waitlist this year

nj schools and this thread make me mad, im unsubscribing lol

It is factual that there is a HPWL this year. There is no speculation involved.
 
anyone else get the financial aid packages today? Mine were pretty dissappointing. oh well. pretty sure i'm officially withdrawing from both schools soon, so I hope my spot goes to one of you guys! :luck:

Does anybody know how it works to request additional loan money after you get your financial aid package?
 
last year there wasn't really much movement off the high priority wait list at RWJ.

The list is ranked and the admissions office wouldn't tell me how many people are on it when I called. They did say, though, that they usually get most people off the HP waitlist, but I hope we don't get a repeat of last year.
 
Has anyone received financial aid award letters from RWJ yet?

If so how much did they give you? any grants? (i doubt it) how much money in subsidized (I'm guessing the standard 8,500) how much in unsubsidized loans?

I got mine from RWJ a few weeks ago. No grants, the full subsidized and then like 20,000 in unsub. Whats weird is that I received 5,000 less than I requested. Did this happen to anyone else?

yeah hopefully things will be different this year. I was on it last year and didn't get off. Just a piece of practical advice is if RWJ is your only waitlist make sure you don't depend on it. Make sure you make other plans in case things don't work out.

Hey LunaMD

I had everything in by late March, I also requested 45k, thats what the proposed budget stated? Did you file your parents info on FAFSA, that may be the reason. I haven't heard anything from them yet.

Also when did you submit all your fin aid stuff? I need a time frame of when I should be receiving my package.

Same deal here. I also got less than I requested. I'm wondering how to get that bumped up... 😕

I think I submitted everything before the end of February. I did not include my parental info on my FAFSA but I'm not sure why that would affect the amount that they give me.

I don't think it would... I did include parental info, and I'm in the same boat as you...

the only way it would affect it is that you cannot be awarded any title VII need-based aid without including parental information. (not sure what that means exactly, though).

also, zimmie, there is an additional form to request additional aid (past what you were awarded)...i'm not sure if that guarantees anything, but it definitely doesn't hurt to try to fill it out.

they told me it was a random process in taking ppl off the list...and that there were 60+ people as high priority..😱 😕
 
Does anyone know if the NJMS waitlist is ranked too? Or how much it moves?
