I know that he doesn't only call on Sunday. He can call anytime during the week. His calls seem pretty random.... (personally, I think I received my call on a Tuesday... or was it Thursday)... so, don't lose hope!
Good luck to all who are waiting!:luck:

I got my call on a Monday evening, so I agree with ICCONFETTI... You should be sitting anxiously by the phone 24/7, not just Sundays... jk, but he really does call lots of different times. Good luck all!

hey buds. has anyone ever been to the RWJ campus? let me know!

I saw the Piscataway campus when I interviewed. It seemed nice, but I didn't get to see much except for the main academic building where the classes are. I remember there were a bunch of different study spaces that seemed comfy enough. Student lounge with ping pong tables... Umm, it was a long time ago...

Is there anything in particular you wanted to know about the campus?

I always heard Dr. H likes to call on Sundays and on Holidays.

Official Wait time is now 5 weeks.

Yeah, like everything. I should drive down and get a tour there sometime. It seems (to me at least) they are keeping that place a secret. I haven't seen it once yet and they always tell me to go to the CAB building. ::roar::

I went to Rutgers New Brun for 4 years (stayed at studied right near the medical school) and also researched and worked in the affialiating hospitals (robert wood and saint peters).

The hospitals and everything in New Bruns is top notch. CAB building is amazing (great gym), the entrance to robert wood hospital is very classy with a large atrium. They have a great pediatric hopsital and brand new cancer research center. The staff is very pro-doctor, meaning they will do as much of the doctors duty as allowed by the system. Makes young docs and docs to be lives very stress free. After workign in the ER, we would go to bars on george street. The area feels safe and alive at the same time.

The only caveat is for the first two years you will be in piscataway (10 min drive to New Brun Hospital, the rutgers buses run every 10 mins so not to worry if you don't have a car), but you will be studyign in the Library of science of medicine, or some other obscure nook and crany of the piscataway campus.

Side story, One time my girl friend found a med student studying in the bathroom late at night. In the students defense the bathroom was very clean and had a couch. So there is another plus for the school. It has clean bathrooms with couches.

The piscatway school is very close to the Rutgers Busch campus, infact some rutgers students (like i once was) take some of their classes at in the UMDNJ buildings (very select few, not all). And if you want to relive your youthful undergraduate days you can, by taking a walk (20mins) to the busch student center and playing some dance dance revo or pool. Also if you are into golf, the rutgers golf course is right near by the piscatway umdnj campus.

Also, the roads leading to piscataway have improved 100x over from before. A lot of good things are happening in the area around NB and piscataway, not to mention the rutgers football team is finally winning games.

Makes me wonder if students of New bruns UMDNJ get free tickets to rutgers games.

I know a lot of about the area around the medical school in piscataway, but don't know many details about the classrooms or anatomy lab, or microscopes, etc. Some of the professors I had in undergrad also taught in medical school, and they were nice to me in undergrad and gave good lectures, so they will do the same in medical school i hope.

Hope that helps.

Robert Wood Johnson has been moving along very slowly... Hopefully they accept us soon! :luck: :luck: :luck:

At RWJ, there are two clinical choices... New Brunswick vs. Camden. I think New Brunswick is generally preferred. Does anyone know if it will fill up soon or if it will be open for some time (until March or April acceptances, for example).

It would be lovely to be so close to home for four years 😀

Hey guys, had my RWJ interview on friday and it was harder than I expected! A lot of difficult questions, and stupid me, I didn't check the interview feedback section before I left so I wasn't really expecting any of them. I still think it went relatively well, but who actually knows in this process? I was very impressed with the school, so I'm hoping for good news in 3-4 weeks (and maybe a good financial aid package after that, perrrttyy please?)

Anyone filled out the FASFA yet? It appears that RWJ and NJMS have the same school code? (is that possible?)

yea, they have the same school code because they are both under the name "UMDNJ" and under that system.

For anyone who received the invite on Jan 6th saying you were invited for an interview but at the time they were too backed up and we should wait for a more formal invitation. Have any of you received this more specific invitation???

Timmy- congrats on the interview. did they give you a date?

I received the formal invitation about 2 weeks later, but that was also after I called and emailed them about it. It seems to help to be persistent about it. :luck:

Which school are you refering to, NJMS or RWJ?

I interviewed 1st in November and then a second time in Dec' right before christmas. Anyone else still waiting for decisions from interviews done last year at NJMS?

I interviewed in mid-december at NJMS and found out about 2 weeks ago that I was waitlisted. BUT...

I interviewed at RWJ Jan 5 and found out yesterday (02/01) via a phone call that I got in!! So there still are spots open...

And being waitlisted at one doesn't mean you'll be waitlisted at the other too. Don't lose hope!!
