What happened to webstar being updated immediately after a decision was made...snail mail is uncool, way too uncool. I guess I'll be sitting in front of my mailbox yet again this monday with my fingers crossed.

random off topic question

A couple of other sdn members were compiling a list of how different schools deal with mcat retakes...most recent/best subscore/best composite

Anyone know what NSU does?

Thanks for congratulatory wishes, Nova was not one of the schools on top of my list. But after visiting the school, I was extremely impressed. My top choices are instate schools as UIC, SIU, and CCOM. If none of them pan out and I have to move out of state, it will be NSU for sure.

No joke. I guess I get to start obsessing over the mail now. Grrrr.... 😡
 
I'm going to have to call. I can't drive the hour to my parent's house every day to check my mail.

The mail is certified so someone would have to sign for it, just a heads up.

Well, that is complete crap considering it is going to my parents house and nobody is there. Who has time to sit around till 12 for mail?
 
I do the same and get a voicemail. Figures.

i just called admissions, they said they could not give me the decision over the phone but the admissions counselor could, they forwarded me to her but i got her vmail

Just arrived home to a slip in my mail box indicating that I have certified mail from NOVA waiting for me at the post office. Acceptance? They wouldn't torment me by sending a waitlist/rejection via certified mail, would they?

Words of hope? Encouragement?

Help your poor friend from the 9/11 group! 😕

Well, I got certified mail from them this afternoon and it was good news, I am sure yours is good news as well, I am very excited and relieved
 
I sure hope so! That would make acceptance #2 so I've got some deciding to do. Shoot ... and I still have interviews at LECOM-BR on Wednesday 10/1 and LECOM-Erie on Friday 10/3. Eeeeeeek!
 
So, I also received a slip indicating I had missed my certified mail from NSU! I won't be able to get the package until Wed : ( I want to assume this is good news...according to everyone else it seems that it is!
 
does nova require LOR? as i'm completing the secondary, it didn't say anywhere that i needed to send LOR...i thought it was strange

I have not decided yet, it is my first acceptance, I really like NSU the school and the city. Only disadvantage is that it is soo far away from home. I will make a decision after I hear back from other schools. But I loved Nova, nice facilities, nice campus, and good clinical rotations. I am waiting to hear back from some in-state schools.

CONGRATS momgracea and Chicago!! I received some good news as well...perhaps I'll see you in FL next year, too. I'm waiting on a few other schools but so far I really love Nova.🙂
 
Maybe I'll find out soon...I am only in the state of Florida. Maybe they are going to hand deliver it personally.
 
I just received a phone call and I got an acceptance! 😀

Still no letter though...But then again I'm all the way in Cali..
 
Sooo I sent my secondary and signature page in not this past friday but the friday before and still have heard nothing from nova. Is this normal? Also, I'm positive i only submitted one app, but when i sign onto the admissions page there are 2 there...one from the 15th and 19th, but im pretty sure i only sent one in (aka my debit card transaction only says 50$ once from NSU). I just want to be completeeeee already! Waiting in this application process is the worsttt! Should i be worried it didnt go through? I've e-mailed, left a message on the machine, and always try to call (but unfortunately i work all day) and still cant get through to anyone! Any advice would be greatttt. thanks guys 🙂
 
The same thing has happened to me. My screen shows two applications after logging into their system. I've been calling and emailing for about 3 weeks with no luck!

My screen showed two applications as well, however the more recent one is the one that you should go by. When they received my signature page that is the one that was updated. It took me around 2.5 to 3 weeks to here back from them, but that was before they started interviewing so I would assume they are much busier during this time of year

The EXACT same thing happened to me; it shows two applications. And I sent my signature page on Sept 3; they cashed my check. Still it does not say they received my signature page and i have heard nothing from them. Any words of advice?

I'm accepted. Now I have a really tough decision. I'm still going on some interviews (KCOM and FIU) but man...this is going to be a tough decision. Both bradenton and nova have different but great points to them and both will help me achieve my goals. After KCOM, if I'm accepted, I'm going to have to sit down with my dad and work out the logistics of each school.

congrats....looks like everyone from the 9/11 group got great news
 
We were a pretty awesome group. None of my other interviews have had the same feel. I think we kind of lucked out and all clicked. That isn't to say the people in my other interviews weren't cool people, but somehow it was almost a perfect storm with us.
 
How long did it take from the time you sent your signature page until your on-line app showed "received" for your signature page?
