'Professional Practice in Nursing'
It was mildly clinical but moreso geared towards professional issues, like delegation etc.
Sounds like it could work. You never know until you try.

What email address did you use? I have 2 emails out to them that haven't been answered yet, and I thought maybe there is a better address to send questions to.
Thanks!
Uh..I'm a little frightened at the secondary...
I'm applying to 35 MD schools and 10 DO schools...I picked schools based on my stats, location, and any info I could find here or on school websites...NSU facilities are really nice, I like the campus, I can see myself going here, but I'm worried all the MD schools will keep me from even being considered for an interview...I have a 29 MCAT, c: 3.71, s: 3.5, ~300 total hrs volunteering med/non-med, 140 shadowing hrs (all MD though, I'm working on a DO one now)...other ec's of course, but nothing huge...what do you think? Will the large number of schools hurt me?

Anyone know how stringent they are with a letter from a liberal arts prof?
Ive been out of liberal arts classes for years and don't know any profs. I have a strong letter from a nursing instructor. Think that will count?
if your using orbitz to book a hotel for the interview use the promo code: SUMMERVIN
it just saved me about $15 on the Comfort Suites room. im pretty sure it expires later this week but look online for a newer one.
fyi.

Just curious if anybody else is coming from Canada for interview?
Just call them, you will get a much quicker response.
Does anyone know where to find a breakdown of the entire Cost of Attendance for NSU? Their website only has the tuition listed and it discusses cost of attendance but doesnt give any numbers.
If anyone knows of any type of chart or spreadsheet with this info (like LECOM & Midwestern) could you please post it.
Thanks!!
I've been here for a week and a half. I still like the school. I do not like the Histo lecture, but only because dental crowds up the room. Stay tuned for any changes in opinion

I am from Canada and an M1 at NOVA. So yes they are Canadian friendly.
Im attaching the tution numbers for this year. Please note this is NOT what you will pay for a year of school. It is however the maximum amount you are allowed to take out through loans. For instance, you WILL NOT need this much for books, housing, fees, transportation, etc. But the sheet has the tuition on there highlighted in red.
Thanks for posting that data. What is the summer term listed on here? This is the first med school I;ve seen that has a fall, winter, & summer terms. I didnt see anything about that in the college catalog. IF I am just misunderstanding something obvious, please, dont hesitate to tell me!!
Also...dang, you're right. Nova seems to really aim high with the estimates for room & board, expenses, etc. $80,000 a year in loans?? Yeah, I dont think so.
I notice a lot of universities overestimate the cost of attendance. In a way its for your own safety because for most medical students financial aid will be their only source of income while in school. You do not want to be short of funds while in medical school, its an expensive endeavor and you need to be well financed to pay for living expenses, books, equipment and supplies. If I am not mistaken there is new plan to help medical students pay down their debt through service in areas of need.

Exactly the only part of cost of attendance that is mandatory is the tuition+minimal fees, the rest is up to you on how much you want to spend on housing, food, transport, books, supplies, etc etc. So nova lets you take up to about 79k out of state and 72k instate (instaters pay less tuition) in loans. Which amounts to ~40k for everything beyond tuition, which is extremely generous. You can always borrow less than that. It is nice to know the extra money is there if you need it. One of the MD schools I was waitlisted at only allowed you to borrow up to ~10k past tuition cost which would have virtually impossible to live on for me.I notice a lot of universities overestimate the cost of attendance. any essays on the secondary? would someone mind posting if so? thanks!
I have a question about the webstar application status check, does it actually show your status apart from showing that you've submitted your application? I know for other schools there are websites that say things like application under review, application pending and so on. But the webstar just seems to be a summary of my application. Is this what everyone else sees as well?

Nova has had all of my materials for a week. I don't even see a "decision" category when I log in. I am confused, especially if people who aren't complete have a "decision" category?
Does NSU carefully go over the primaries of everyone that applies here and sort of come up with a decision of who they want to interview before people submit their secondaries? I'm asking current students in the event someone would know. I ask this because I submitted my secondary at 10pm last night and I recieved an email with an interview invitation like 5 minutes ago. I havn't even mailed them my "signature page". I had my LORs available to them for some time now through VE, but I don't even fulfull their LOR requirements ( I don't have a committe letter, and I didn't have the 2 science and 1 liberal arts letter as a substitute...). Do they like just run our applications through some computer program? I'm not complaining or anything and am pretty excited, I'm just a tad confused.
Was your mcat score pretty high? It seems like they are really, really interested in those with medium to high end mcat scores.
It wasn't anything spectacular... I have a 29. The only thing I'm worried about is paying for the airfare and everything and interviewing only to find out I didn't meet their LOR critria and getting dinged for that...
how does nova issue interview invitations?
Got mine via email.
congrats! how long after you were complete did you receive your invite?
So for most schools, they only offer interview invitations to people who have met all of their requirements and the admissions committe has descided to offer an interview invitation. NSU doesn't do this? They offer interviews to people who have a particular gpa/mcat score without looking at anything else and only after the interview they check for requirments? This seems like a strange admissions process.
NOVA doesn't do this. Last year, some people had acceptances but had to take another class because something didn't count for what they wanted, and I think someone else had the same problem of needing another LOR to fulfill a requirement. CALL them!!!
