Did you hit it?

Yes I did, and let me say that sandwich was delicious. Lol

Seriously, she may not have been the brightest crayon in the box. I got some cookies and she was all, "The cookies are a little on the gooey side because I messed up on them this morning. Personally I think they're better like that, you know? They're still so yummy."

so, if you had to translate it...for us non-spanish slangsters?

It could be translated to mean, not even close or nothing to do with it. That's the basic idea, but it just fits so well in Spanish. Lol

yes I can see the picture. And I'm glad you are a family man. Family men love sandwiches.

Ok got it...and now I have a new phrase to impress people with. 😎

Yeah, maybe it isn't all that difficult to explain in English. There are just some phrases in Spanish that fit better than in English. I'm pretty sure anyone who has become fluent in a foreign language can attest to that fact. Amirite?

Actually maybe the funniest part of the subway girl story is that for some reason something about my work vehicle made her think I was an undercover cop. I don't know why

Yeah, now that I figured out how to upload pics from my phone, SDN better watch out!

For some reason I was thinking subway like, underground rail, but now I understand that it's actually Subway the restaurant... and the sandwich makes sense.

Oh yeah, that would be confusing. I'm seriously laughing out loud here. I wasn't using sandwich as some kind of code to suggest I may have indulged in some extramarital fling, lol. Pretty satisfied with my wife thank you. 😀

You would be thinking that

I've actually never lived in a city with a subway >_> I guess I just assumed everybody else had it better than we did.

Uve gotta be kidding me, oh wait, you mean never lived with the underground transportation trains. Ok, I thought you meant the sub sandwich shop. We should differentiate, subway=tube train, Subway=delicious and cheap sandwich deli with sub-par intelligence sandwich "artists", The subway=totally excellent hike in Zion's National Park that can be difficult to get a permit for but is totally worth it.

Now we should be able to communicate efficaciously. Lol

U know what's great? Posting like mad on SDN using nothin but my touch screen phone while sitting in my undercover cop ford transit and listening to White and Nerdy. Oh yeah

A permit to hike? Must be pretty treacherous... sounds like wicked fun. 👍

I LOVE the subway (the hike)...it's beautiful...

On an un-related note, I could really go for a sandwich right now.

What's a medical courier? Are you like a rich man's driver for when he has chest pain?

I was wowing the other pre-meds at NSU-COM ( see neurolax, I really CAN spell it right) with tales of one of my favorite hobbies, canyoneering. They were all aghast that someone would enter such a strange an dangerous land as a slot canyon with nothing but their rappelling gear and a wetsuit. Seriously though, Zion's and similar surrounding areas, are reason enough for me to want to settle down in southern Utah.

I wish bro, I'd probably get paid a lot more if that were the case. I drive between hospitals and clinics transporting clinical and pathological specimens (think poop, pee, blood, and various tissues), supplies like vacutaniers or the occasional surgical laser in a box truck, and interoffice mail. Since I'm not full-time or part-time (I'm what's called PRN) I drive a different route every day, some of which I'll have to drive a couple hours one way to get to my first stop.
A glamorous profession good sir. *takes a bow*

They transport specimens from place to place. We have them all over the hospital I work in.

Oh I forgot to mention the best part is I get to transport hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of pharmaceuticals on some routes. One time we had a med tote fall and break something inside, a white milky substance started pooling around it. Found out later it was propofol, good times 😀

Sweet. Who needs a hazmat crew when you could have called MJ... He's definitely getting the sleep he so desperately craved now. Sorry to the MJ fans. Tragic death, but incredibly careless on both sides.

Anyways, I've been meaning to take a trip out to Utah. My aunt moved there several years ago and I haven't had the chance to go visit and see the wonders of Utah.

Just out of curiosity, and not trying to be insensitive, but is Mitt Romney highly respected in Utah?

I applaud your sensitivity but I don't know how that would be insensitive. Lol
I think it's like a lot of other republican states, there's a pretty even mix between those who really like him, those who think he's just a better choice than Obama, and those who would rather have Ron Paul. I don't personally know anyone who deifies him just because he's Mormon and a lot of us out here are too.

Damn that seems cold.

I think Romney is doing pretty decent in Utah.

Ron Paul spoke at our school a few months ago. I wanted to watch him but it was at like 9 on a Friday evening.. Not worth it for the commute.

This thread is my new happy place.

Edit: that's pathetic. I've just had so little sleep and this route is so boring and you guys are all so entertaining.

You wouldn't happen to be transporting milk of amnesia right now, would you? Your employers must really trust you lol. Even though your job frequency is "as needed," how often do you make runs?

Also you're lucky you don't have to drive your own car. I was almost hired as a medical courier ~20 months ago until they told me I'd need to use my own car and that I would average ~3000-7000 miles per week.

😱 I would ask for six figures!! That's crazy wear and tear!

That's nuts. The longest route we have you'll put maybe 300-400 miles on the vehicle a day. That's at most 2000 a week if you're full-time.

And to neurolax, most of the time we run established routes with scheduled stops, and some shifts are on-call or "stat" shifts where you chill at the office for 8 hours waiting for stat runs to be called in. I usually get scheduled 3 days a week, but I can give shifts to or take shifts from any of the other couriers depending on if they've been trained on the route. This offers me a TON of flexibility in my schedule. I didn't work for two months this summer while my wife was getting cancer treatment and I didn't have to use FMLA time at all for it. I just gave my shifts away to people. Other times, I've worked 13 out of 14 days because people wanted to give me shifts and I wanted them. I love the flexibility.

Now the big question. What kind of specialty should I do if I want that kind of flexibility? Lol

Sounds like you would be good for Hospitalist. Go into Internal Med.

ROADS. Also, I think you should add "Dudeliness strikes again!" to your signature for all medical school correspondence.

Umm what does ROADS stand for?

Honestly I can't think of anything cool to put for my signature. Dudeliness strikes again seems pretentious. Maybe I should just turn it off. Lol

Sichologists can't prescribe meds in most states... so no, I don't think so. Nice try, buddy 👍 Oh, and... I see what you did there... 🙄

Always get psychology and psychiatry mixed up. Not even remotely interested in either.
