Not that I truly care...I had no intention of applying to the school but my dad made me. Now I can tell him, "I told you so!"

(anybody else frankly a little relieved that it's one less secondary to fill out? I'm swamped and feeling a bit overwhelmed with the whole thing...)

Yeah, it was pretty low down on my list too, but believe it or not, I had pre-written the secondary questions already! Ah well, good practice I guess.

sorry, but that does mean you got a rejection this morning? i've been waiting for my rejection...i mean correspondence from them, too.

University of Washington only takes people from the 5 surrounding states - so I imagine that 'correspondence' should be coming soon 🙁

You sure about that? I've heard that they also take some applicants from other states who show a dedication to providing medicine to underserved areas.

While that's true...

"Based on past experience more than 90% of acceptances are applicants from Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana or Idaho (WWAMI). Applicants from outside this region who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and/or who have demonstrated a commitment to serving under-served populations will be considered."

I wouldn't bother applying if you're OOS (meaning out of WWAMI) honestly. I know a girl who had 4.00 OA/4.00 BCPM 38T with summers volunteering in Africa and Mexico who got a straight up rejection post-secondary.
 
All the WF rejections are surprising given peoples' stats. I am not a stellar applicant, but lucked out I guess and got a secondary there; OOS, 9PS 12VR 10BS Q, 3.7 GPA, Foreign Language Major. I am in the military and have been living in NC for the last two years, so maybe that played into their screening for state ties or something.

I have “rejected” (read: withdrawn application) myself from VCU.
 
Ah, got the WVU rejection yesterday. Vandy's is coming soon. It might be a wicked combo coming from my inbox tomorrow morning.
 
Wayne state pre-secondary rejection (out of state). I have a feeling this is the beginning of many, many more rejections to follow...I didn't think I would be upset, but wow, I really took that personally! Especially since they said they had "carefully reviewed my application," it wasn't just that my science gpa was too low....
 
Got a letter from Penn State that I've been placed in the "continue to review category"...guess it's better than rejection, but I probably won't end up with an interview. Sigh. 🙁
 
is vandy sending out rejection letters or r they just gonna ignore us???
 
Got rejected from WVU. Apparently my GPA was just not competitive enough. Booooo!

Those of you getting rejected from Case Western....was it pre-secondary or post? And I hope that's the only rejection you guys will be receiving 🙁
 
For Case, how long after sending your secondary/being complete are you guys getting rejected?

This whole process is either going to teach me patience or I will go crazy, one of the two. 🙂

App complete on August 7th, logged in for no reason tonight (August 12th) and saw a rejection letter dated August 21st.

The really strange thing is that I had a good interview there last year and only just got rejected from the 2007 alternate list a month ago. Ouch. I wonder what I did in the past year to mess up my chances so badly. 😕

Maybe they're just generally anti-reapplicant? Given that you were on their alternate list until very recently....if I were you, I'd give them a call and ask.

Congrats on your UVM invite. I can't fathom that you wouldn't get in this year. Good luck!

im assuming if u were not invited in the first batch 08/06 and were verified june that prob means rejection?????

That's what I'm assuming too. So, I'm already chalking Vandy and UCSF up to rejections. And I'm hoping they're not going to wait until March to send those thin letters out. I think that the quicker it is, the less painful.

UCSF and other UCs send apps in batches. Some people didn't get secondaries from them until February last year, so I wouldn't be so quick to assume that.

Was it on your status page? Did it just pop up?
 
Got the Penn State "hold" letter... has anyone been outright rejected, or are they just throwing us all in the maybe pile?

i actually called pritzker and asked if they decided to interview me since the status on my webpage said they had made a decision.
 
Another in-state rejection for me: Michigan State University. This is not good.

Edit: received rejection via email.

i was complete 7/18. noticed the status change on the website today. decision to interview changed to "yes." i called the admissions office and they said "no" to the interview.
 
Did the Case rejection have this email preceding it? I logged in and no messages.

That could be an interview as well... I believe some ppl reported interviews with the same message.

does that mean everybody who's status turns to "yes" and receives no email about an interview can assume their application was rejected?

No. Someone posted in the interview invite thread today that their status changed from "No" to "Yes" two or three days ago, and they just received the emailed invite today.

yup I'm one of those people... got lower than a 10 on verbal and I'm OOS
