Did anyone receive invitation from St. Louis? I see it in the list above. However I got an email from them today that they are still reviewing the applications and will send out invitations soon. Please clarify.

BTW, I got rejection from Fresno too..!!

I applied to St. Louis and didn't get any email...who knows how these programs wait list. I think as the "elite" candidates are inundated with interviews they will have to cancel some and spots will open up as the next month goes along. Also there are two St. Louis programs, SLU and Wash. St. Louis.

I meant St Louis University, MO.

Am i the only one receiving emails from job recruiters? It's very annoying when their emails are titled "interview with us" or "invited to interview" or things like that.

Can you give me a chance to match before elevating my BP with such titles. Get me excited that it's potential fellowship interview and then leave me hanging 😱

Now, that's off my chest. Back to post call and refreshing my emails :meanie:

It has been very quiet. I'm starting to get scared. What is a good number of interviews to have by now?

Some have 10-13. I dont think there is anyone without at least 1 by now. That said, I am not loving the silence right now. Wanna get the IV schedules done and then settle down.
Any one else knows how many IVs we should have by now?

10-13 is guaranteed to match! What sucks is that it's the same 30 top people getting interviews everywhere, so that's why we haven't been hearing as much. Nobody from my university program got more than 10 invites last year. All of them matched.

😱😱😱

This is how i feel right now:
:beat:

And I am the donkey.

Nobody from my university program got more than 10 invites last year. All of them matched.

That's encouraging news then.

****I read in 2009 Heme/Onc thread that someone did not match with 11 IVs. Wonder how that happened. That is why I pray DAILY for this Match.

i pray daily too.

i think there is a difference between those that get out 11 invites, but have applied to all the 140 programs... versus the person who gets the 11 invites out of 30 programs. there are so many circumstances that no one can predict in terms of matching.

are there anyone without any invites yet??

I am someone with NO interviews yet. Like I have been saying, there are still about 90 programs that we havent heard anything from (presuming that most of the applicants are using this forum and are listing all their invites)
Anyone else in the same boat as me, with no interviews?

i feel for you man. it's discouraging to log on here and see all these other people get top program invites. however, congratulations to those folks.

i do agree that there are a majority of programs that have not really looked at applications yet. on top of that, even from the programs that we have heard somethign, these same programs have not completely reviewed all the applications either.

so hope we get to here from places this week.

We will not give up. We will keep believing!!!

I know...
And its not like we have that much time between now and rank order list to interview or make our decisions.

Adding the UC Fresno to the Rejection section of the list that people are reporting.

I did apply to UC Fresno but didn't get a rejection, does that mean the application might be on hold? (keeping fingers crossed)

Congratulations to all who are getting interview calls!

Not the best choice of words for the subject line on UCSD's rejection e-mail... Fairly misleading

IV from Banner, Az. Looks like second bunch of IVs are rolling out from programs that do that,.... (Atleast I'd like to think so)

I think initial interview invites is over...

A. Either not all programs that have sent out invites are represented here
B. Or those programs that have internal candidates that they would rather take, will either send out invites late or not at all.
C. Second wave will come after initial interviews if they don't see potential fellows in the candidates they interview.

You can add South Alabama, East Tennessee and Loyola to the list. South Alabama and East Tennessee were given out several weeks ago and Loyola was today. I agree that the list probably only reflects a fraction of the programs that have sent out interviews. Does anyone know about Ohio State?

Have the Louisana programs sent out? D.C. Programs? I'm sure they have we just don't have them listed.

Has anyone heard from Philly/new York/new jersey programs other than mt Sinai, st Luke's, nyu, suny? I can tell you that my institution hasnt really started sorting out apps so I disagree that the first wave is over. I think the bigger places have probably sent there's out. Also IVs are too late to wait to send out another batch.

It seems like there are not many invitations from Ohio and PA. Such a waste of time & money to apply for those programs which are filled by their own internal candidates. Grrrrr......

Nalbs, probably because you are a good internal candidate and they dont' really need to look to fill from outside 🙂

Nalbs14, which state are you in? University program?

I'm interested in the same Northeast - Midatlantic programs. I don't see any UMDNJ, Philadelphia, DC, and a large portion of NYC programs. Don't see any invites from that list above. Plus, that's the majority of programs I applied to. Mt Sinai rejected me already

SLR has 1 spot, and I believe they usually take that person from Mt Sinai. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

I also disagree that the first wave is over, although that may be the case for other programs that released invites very early on.

The Northeast - Midatlantic region is undoubtedly the most applied to region in the US. So I think it'll take time to sort out the applications. I think it's safe to say most programs will interview in mid-late September to October. A late October interview is not concerning. I think we should still see a large wave of invites trickle over the next few weeks through mid-September.

Should I be concerned that I dont even have 1 interview yet? However, I have only 2 rejections thus far. Also just wanted to ask, how many applicants are currently
a: 3rd year residency applying?
b: doing or have done Chief year?
c: Hospitalist/year off for research etc?

I am in 3rd year and am starting to think that maybe my problem.
