I got a letter from Creighton stating that they can not offer an interview but my file is active sounds familiar ?......

When did PulmCC get so competitive? It used to be that PulmCC attracted people who were in love with the specialty...GI, Cards and HemOnc had their fair share of people needing to make a dollar.....the tide has turned, our specialty is now in demand but I am not clear as to what's causing it since GI,Card,HemOnc are still the big money makers and thus traditionally the most competitive..interesting

so far no luck. My question is, should I at this stage be applying to more programs? Or is it normal to be at 0IV and 2Rej at this stage of the game?

It's a decision I need to make sooner rather than later.

Do you have green card or visa ?
Having a visa will make difference especially if h1

Do not worry buddy. 50% of people have visas. Most of them get a fellowship spot on the first try. Your home program is where you got greater chance of matching into. University program in NYC... I'd take that in a heartbeat and look no further.

When did PulmCC get so competitive? I got an email from Tufts saying that this year by far is the most competitive year in over 7years! Question for the forum...I have applied to 49programs, I am IMG 2012 grad of an NYC University Program/abstracts + publication/ who decided to do molecular Pulm research before going into fellowship (because I love it)....

but so far no luck. My question is, should I at this stage be applying to more programs? Or is it normal to be at 0IV and 2Rej at this stage of the game?

It's the money plus the move to a shift work model I think.

-Rejection UW-Madison.
-Generic email from U Nebraska saying they are sill reviewing applications ( although I saw you guys had it on the list of interviews!)

Has stanford downloaded for anyone??

@ bigman99821 got the same letter from Creighton today. I think it's a polite rejection.

Same courtesy letter as above from Nebraska

got the same one!! although for me, this is the first one from them

I got a second rejection from Baylor as well. This time I interpreted it as follows;

Thank you for your interest in the Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship Training Program at Baylor College of Medicine. Your application has been reviewed by various members of our Screening Committee. We regret to inform you that you still suck, and there is no way in hell we are going to offer you an interview. This decision definitely reflects on your abilities. The problem is the large amount of suck on your application. To make you feel even worse, this is the second rejection we will send your way. In your face!!

Oh well....

Your positives are no visa requirement and recent grad - I would pursue NBIMC program vigorously since you have contacts in that program.

If you are a recent graduate, are you board certified? I think that BC does count once out of training.

rejection Harvard? I wonder y did I apply n wasted money🙁
I am taking boards next week, graduated this july.

Is it basically a rejection that hasn't happened yet when others have gotten interviews to programs and I haven't? I applied early and I'm a US grad from an academic program but have been a community hospitalist for the last 3 years with a little research under my belt. 0 interviews with a couple rejections so far.
